Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Passed Away for Many Years

“Some say that dreams are premonitions. For instance, I just dreamt I drowned in the sea. Perhaps it means I’ll actually drown in the future. What do you think?”

Qin Yu glanced at Ah Da, his smile seemingly light and cold, devoid of warmth, his words carrying a hint of self-mockery.

Something wasn’t quite right; he seemed still lost in his dream.

What kind of dream was it that made him so troubled?

Ah Da took his hand to comfort him. “No, you won’t. Even if in the future… ptooey, ptooey, ptooey, one shouldn’t say such things. Anyway, I’m a good swimmer, so you don’t have to worry about falling into the water.”

She could breathe in the water, and even if Qin Yu really did end up in the sea, she could save him.

Ah Da was very confident, her small face taut.

Qin Yu started, then suddenly laughed, his hand lightly pinching her chin, scratching her cheek, “I forgot, you’re like a little fish, and little fishes aren’t afraid of the sea.”

“But what if you’re not there?”

Ah Da wanted to hit him in annoyance. “How could I not be there? Qin Yu, don’t let your mind wander.”

“You haven’t gone foolish from the nightmare, have you?”

The young girl, Wen Liang, placed her cool hand onto his forehead. Under the bright light, her glass-like eyes were especially clear. The concern and care on her face were so pure, free from any impurity.

It was as if Qin Yu had been struck in the chest by a soft cloud without weight. As the cloud dissipated into countless specks of light, strands of warmth swept over him.

He couldn’t help but pull the girl close. She was soft and fragrant, her body emitting a seductive fruity scent.

How did someone become so deeply entrenched in his heart?

His cool fingertips gently traced her snow-white cheek, his touch deft and lingering.

“Every time you say these things, real or not, you have to stay by my side forever, understand?”

Ah Da sensed something off about Qin Yu’s mood tonight, her hands grasping his arms tightly as she nodded earnestly.

“Yes, I’ll always be with you. The people in your dreams won’t dare to touch you, I’m powerful now.”

Qin Yu rested his head on her shoulder, inhaling her scent, and chuckled softly. “Is that so? How powerful?”

Embarrassed, Ah Da had talked herself into a corner and had no choice but to tough it out. “Powerful enough, more than you. Don’t ask anymore.”

As she spoke, she didn’t forget to punch him lightly as a warning.

“Okay, I won’t ask.”

Listening to Qin Yu speak by her ear, his voice husky and deep, the warm breath tickling her ear like an electric current.

Ah Da shivered involuntarily, her ears burning red. She pushed against Qin Yu’s chest, reminding him.

“It’s late. You should continue sleeping.”

He had to work tomorrow, after all.

But he said instead.

“I’m not sleeping.”

Qin Yu’s voice was bland, with a nasal quality, his grasp relaxingly half-loose as he leaned back, bending his legs and with his pajamas hanging loosely on his frame, his eyes slightly narrowed, his posture languid, exuding a lethal sexiness.

“Aren’t you tired?”

Ah Da naively asked. As soon as the words left her mouth, his shirt parted slightly, revealing swathes of skin.

Her eyes uncontrollably drifted from his handsome face down to his neck, then to his broad and firm chest. The clear definition, old scars, and sense of power were hard to ignore.

In the few moments that had passed, the air conditioning had dried the sweat on his body, leaving only his hair damp.

He exuded an indescribable charm, dangerous yet alluring, quickening her heartbeat uncontrollably.

Seeing her distracted, Qin Yu’s lips curled slightly, teasingly asking, “What are you looking at?”

Ah Da snapped back to reality, her eyes stinging as if burned, quickly looking away, her hands and body tense and unsure.

“I… I didn’t see anything, and if you’re not going to sleep, I’ll go back to bed first.”

Ah Da turned to run, but the man quickly grabbed her arm, shattering her chance to escape.

Seeing no way out, Ah Da simply closed her eyes, pursed her lips tightly, and played dead without speaking.

Qin Yu glimpsed her slightly trembling eyelashes and chuckled softly, grasping her hand and forcefully prying open her palm.

“Why are you closing your eyes?”

Ah Da’s face flushed red and she didn’t respond. Qin Yu was too mischievous, not letting her escape and deliberately bringing it up in her ear.

“Dared to look but not admit it, huh?”

Upon hearing this, Ah Da could no longer restrain herself and angrily opened her eyes, wanting to defend herself, only for Qin Yu to suddenly press her hand against his chest.

It was solid, and her palm was intimately pressed against his skin.

Ah Da’s pupils dilated, and she was completely frozen.

Qin Yu clamped his arm around her waist and brought her over, allowing her to press onto him from above through the comforter, in a dominant position.

“By my side, you don’t need to suppress your desires. Look at whatever you want, do whatever you wish.”

It was too close.

The man’s words reached Ah Da’s ears, her heart trembling lightly, her mind a muddled mess unable to function.

He spoke as though he was presenting himself to her.

The heat beneath her palm was scorching, as if about to set ablaze, completely different from the coolness she felt during the nightmare.

Watching the young girl turn almost red enough to resemble a cooked shrimp, Qin Yu slowly released her hand and bent to pick up the panda toy from the floor, stuffing it into her arms.

Ah Da hugged the panda and took a step back, dodging him.

She had indeed been scared by him just now.

Qin Yu didn’t stop her, his handsome face bearing a faint smile, his eyes deep, suddenly asking:

“Do you want to know what I dreamed about?”

Compelled by some strange force, it was the first time in Qin Yu’s life he wanted to share his inner thoughts with someone else, this little girl who possessed some sort of magic.

Ah Da was indeed curious. Qin Yu had nightmares more than once, each time falling deep into an unbearable nightmare, appearing extremely pained and tormented.

Especially given his typically domineering and authoritative personality, Ah Da couldn’t imagine what could be so inescapable for him.

“I do.”

Ah Da nodded emphatically.

Qin Yu beckoned her with a satisfied crook of his finger, signaling for her to come over.

Ah Da hesitated, then snuggled up with the panda toy and sat beside him, turning to face him with an expectant look.

The little girl was fair and cute, both obedient and soft. Qin Yu wanted to hold her, but he had just been sweating and feared he would dirty her. Ultimately, he only reached out to smooth a stray tuft of her hair beside her face.

Observing her eager expression, Qin Yu looked away, gazing out the window, his voice extremely soft.

“I dreamed of a woman.”

“A woman?” Ah Da muttered to herself, her brows furrowed tightly, not expecting this answer at all.

“She was my mother, who passed away many years ago in a car accident.” Qin Yu’s voice was deep, his dark eyes cold as abyssal pools, word by word, “At that time, my father and I were also in the car. They died instantly, and I survived. Rumors spread that I caused their death.”

Ah Da’s heart jolted when she heard him mention the death of his parents. No wonder she had only ever met his friends and never his parents; they had already passed away.

Already saddened, and upon hearing people slander him, Ah Da’s fists clenched tight, her large eyes glaring with anger, she exclaimed:

“How is any of that your fault? How could they blame you, it’s too much!”
