The Unvanquished: Child of Nihility-Chapter 58: She Read Minds?
looking at the screen once again, still displaying Morca’s data. "I’m looking forward to your physical test results..."

The entirety of Eden Domineer Academy was divided into four regions, each aligned with a cardinal direction: North, East, South, and West. These regions surrounded the central zone, which sat at the heart of the academy.
Each region was named according to one of the four class divisions:
The Southern Region housed the Entrance Gate Facilities, also known as the academy’s only magnificent gateway.
The Eastern Region held the Elementary/Elite Dorms, where both elementary and elite students resided.
The Western Region featured the Exceptional Dorm, home to students of the exceptional class.
The Northern Region was the most secluded, containing the Unique Dorm, reserved for the highest-tier students.
At the very center of these regions lay the Central Region, also referred to as the Heart of Eden Domineer Academy.
Each Region consist of:
The Entrance Gate Facilities
This area includes the Physique Trials Tech Facility, the New Recruit Welcoming Hall, and the New Recruit Living Quarters–where new students stay before being assigned a class following the official welcoming speech.
The Elementary/Elite Dorm Region
As the name suggests, this is where both elementary and elite class students live. It is the largest of all the academy’s regions.
The Exceptional Dorm Region
This area is reserved for exceptional-class students and includes a specialized training hall tailored to their needs.
The Unique Dorm Region
The most prestigious and spacious dorm. Students residing here each have their own private Villa equipped with advanced training rooms and a small recreation center.
The Central Region (Heart of Eden Domineer Academy)
This is the core of the academy where all critical activities take place. It includes classrooms, a medical facility, the Battle Arena/Training Hall, the Library, the Mission Hall, and most importantly, the staff residences.
This is the structural layout of Eden Domineer Academy, as outlined in Section Two.

At the medical facility located in the southern part of the Central Region, a hospital room bathed in soft, natural light stood quietly. Sunlight streamed through large windows, giving the room a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The walls were painted a gentle cream tone, and the polished tile floors gleamed as they reflected the light. In the center of the room stood a pristine, white hospital bed with soft sheets. Resting peacefully on the bed was Morca, who looked far healthier than he had during the survival trial.
Beside him, a smart monitor quietly displayed his vital signs–heartbeat, breathing, and blood pressure–glowing in gentle hues.
Nearby, a sleek machine steadily delivered medicine through a clear tube into his arm, while another device automatically monitored his fluid levels.
On the opposite side of the room, a tall cabinet held neatly arranged medical tools and supplies. Overhead, bright LED lights provided clear visibility, while the soft hum of an air purifier kept the air crisp and clean.
Though clearly a place for care and healing, the room exuded a peaceful ambiance–a place where technology and comfort blended seamlessly for recovery.
Three figures occupied the room.
The first, a silver-haired young man in black attire, sat on a couch with his eyes closed–though he wasn’t sleeping.
Leo Mordric had arrived not long ago, having taken some rest after the academy trial ended. With nothing pressing to do until the New Recruit Welcoming Speech, scheduled three days from now, he chose to spend his time beside the mysterious guy lying before him.
’Why is it taking him so long to wake up?’ Leo wondered, eyes still shut. He clearly remembered how he almost rejected Morca’s offer. But Morca’s aura had been... terrifying.
Just thinking about it sent a subtle shiver down his spine, as if reliving that chilling moment.
He sighed silently.
Was he even human?
That question had haunted Leo ever since he experienced Morca’s dreadful aura.
On another smaller couch sat a girl so breathtaking that even the word "breathtaking" felt like an understatement.
Her nearly flawless, half-masked face radiated an ethereal beauty. Even without revealing the upper part of her face, the pair of glowing, sapphire eyes beneath the black-red mask seemed otherworldly.
A straight, well-proportioned nose and tiny, full rosy lips–lips that looked capable of bringing down ancient empires–completed her celestial appearance.
Her flowing black hair streaked with crimson strands, skin-tight black pants, and a cream-colored top beneath a deep crimson trench coat made her silhouette impossibly perfect.
Who else could possess such beauty–even with her face hidden–within all of Eden Domineer Academy, or even all of Eden itself, if not Noe Laura?
She had passed the trial and caught the eye of a powerful figure within the academy, ensuring her protection. With that backing, she had little to worry about her identity being revealed. She did her best to live as a normal girl while concealing more than she want others to know...
She knew that when that happened, trouble would follow closely behind. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"He should be waking up soon," she murmured, her eyes fixed on the unconscious Morca.
A soft but eerie voice suddenly broke the silence.
"Laura girl, we should get going. I’ve already stayed longer than I usually do in the open. If we delay any further, things might spiral out of control–and that could affect him too."
Laura turned her gaze to the source of the voice–the last figure in the room.
It was a man with dark, flowing green hair, standing before the transparent glass window, gazing out with piercing green eyes that radiated danger. The most eye-catching part about him, however, was his attire. Unlike the regular attire worn by others, he was clad in pieces of black-green metal that pulsed with a faint, liquid green energy stretching from his neck down to his toes.
At first glance, he might have been mistaken for a humanoid machine, but on closer inspection, one would realize it wasn’t robotics–but armor.
Something about him felt... unnatural. A faint green mist drifted around him, growing denser with every breath he took. His hand was clenched into a tight fist, as though he were suppressing something violent within. The air around him seemed to burn away with that eerie mist.
Every powerhouse across the Eden knew of him, though only in whispers. A legendary figure thought to be lost to time–because he never left behind any lore, nor did he allow any to grow. He was marked as dangerous to civilization.
He had once considered leaving the academy, seeking solitude elsewhere–but there was nowhere that could contain him. And yet, as time passed, he returned and entered a quiet seclusion... that is, until he sensed a mysterious aura. One that complimented his very talent. That aura led him here–to this room–with a girl who stirred something ancient and strange within him.
Whenever he looked at her, he felt like a devout worshiper standing before his goddess. The poison that had tormented him for years... it felt like it had found its queen.
That’s when he knew: if he truly wished to break free of his mystery, he could only rely on her. And so, he made a decision–to take her in as his student.
How could he, the infamous Mr. Green Poison Gu, bow before a girl who had barely begun her journey in life?
"Alright," Laura finally said, her gaze returning to Morca’s peaceful figure. Then, she turned toward the seated Leo.
"You–I’m leaving him in your care until he wakes up. And don’t try anything funny... I know who you’re working for."
Leo’s body tensed. He heard that last part loud and clear.
’She knows my identity too? Who is she? And how do both of them know something...?’
’No... maybe she just said that on a whim’, he tried to reassure himself, but a chill ran down his spine.
Turning his head slightly, he met her eyes–those true sapphire eyes that seemed to pierce straight through him.
’Shit... can she read minds?’ he cursed inwardly.
’Interesting,’ Mr. Gu sighed to himself. A kid threatening another kid without the other realizing how much she truly knew.
’This girl... is not simple,’ he mused with amusement.
With that said, Mr. Gu walked toward the bed, glancing at Morca for a few seconds before saying, "He should be fine within an hour. There’s something disturbing his mind that’s keeping him trapped in a dream, but looking at him, he’ll be fine in no time." He nodded at Laura. "Let’s go."
With that, he walked to the door. Laura hesitated for a moment but decided to follow Mr. Gu.
Clack.
The door to the hospital room closed a few moments later. Leo stood up from the couch and slowly walked toward the bed, staring at Morca’s twisting face. It looked like he was struggling with something deep inside.
’I can’t do it here–not in the academy. And that girl... she knows something about me. She’ll always have her eyes on me, especially if he wakes up,’ he thought, caught in a swirl of conflicting thoughts.
Truly, Morca couldn’t be underestimated. He was already more powerful than Leo, and now another terrifying figure had appeared out of nowhere. Even though Leo had become Morca’s underling and feared him, he hadn’t fully submitted to him.
Morca’s eyes suddenly snap opened...
