Chapter 329: Please (+18)

By noon, there was still no news, which was extremely devastating for Aira. It was even worse knowing how many people were out there looking for her sister, yet she remained unfound.

Worry slowly descended on her like rain—first in tiny droplets, right before it became a storm she couldn’t get rid of no matter how much she tried.

She asked for more men, and Zyren didn’t hesitate to give them to her—enough that soon the entire city knew her sister was missing.

She was worried enough that she contacted Savira, the oldest vampire, asking if there was a way to find her. But all she got was a way to find out if her sister was still alive using their blood connection, which Aira instantly agreed to without batting an eye.

She was beyond relieved when Savira finally informed her that Liora was very much alive. Her lifeline looked steady, which meant she was safe—much to Aira’s relief.

Aira instantly headed back to her room to take a shower, but she had just taken off yesterday’s clothes with the intention of bathing when she suddenly doubled over.

Her head felt lightheaded, and the nausea was back even as she leaned over the bed, allowing the aura of her ability to wash over her. But just as she used it, slowly but surely, her powers flickered like a lamp about to go out—until they suddenly did.

Aira panicked, trying again with more force, relieved only when her powers bloomed like before, washing away the pain.

Her heart thumped furiously at the thought of what had just happened, something she struggled to understand, wondering if it had been nothing more than a dream.

She allowed her ability to continue spreading, just to make sure whatever had happened was nothing but an error. Yes, it was her ability—but the consequences of losing it were vast, even as she stood naked by the bed with a deeply worried expression on her face.

Terrified beyond measure, she sank onto the bed, bowing her head and covering her eyes with her hands as tears clouded her vision.

The fear, panic, and stress of all she had faced slowly began to wash over her in an uncontrollable way, and she began to sob.

Her sister was alive, but she had no clue where she was—and couldn’t find her even if she wanted to.

Tears streamed down her face as she heard the door open and someone walk in. She instantly assumed it was Rymora, only to look up when she heard deadly silent footsteps.

She was surprised to see Zyren standing in front of her. The first thing he did was take off the heavy cloak he wore, draping it over her before picking her up from the bed and placing her on his lap.

Aira glared at him even as he stared back at her, her face slightly pink and tear-soaked.

"We’ll find her as long as she’s alive," Zyren assured her, even as Aira wondered why he was here saying as much.

"Why are you here?" she asked, trying to ignore and shift her attention from the fact that she was naked—his cloak covering her legs but doing nothing to hide her chest, which she was sure Zyren had noticed.

She caught the slight shift of his gaze.

"I came to speak to you," he responded, raising his gaze back to her face—but not before she felt the subtle change in the air that showed just how interested he was in doing other activities with her.

"...now, we can..." he said, pausing in a way that almost sounded like he was asking for permission. It was so jarring, since Aira was instantly aware that the moment she said no, he would back off without hesitation.

"Sure," she sighed, a smirk forming on her face as she saw a look of surprise flash across his—something extremely rare, since she couldn’t remember the last time she had seen Zyren surprised.

"We can quickly—" she began, only to feel her back hit the bed as Zyren loomed over her, his heated gaze locked onto her as he slowly began to remove his clothes one by one.

Almost as if he were stripping for her to see.

Her heart thumped heavily in her chest, considering the fact that it was the first time they would be having sex together with her explicit consent—something Zyren clearly realized, judging by the pronounced bulge in his pants before he finally pulled them off.

He leaned forward and fell onto the bed, and Aira fixed her gaze on him, watching as he towered over her, as if he wanted to rest his entire body against hers. He lowered his lips to her ear.

"I want you to call my name," he said, his voice deep and huskier than usual, the words feeling more like a caress than a command as she felt his hands on her breasts and then between her legs.

"I’ll make you forget anything else," he promised, before leaning down to kiss her. Their lips melded together as he positioned himself between her legs.

His hands slid against her skin in a way that sent goosebumps of pleasure racing through her, and she kissed him back just as fiercely.

She couldn’t help it—it was as if all the emotions she had been holding back had suddenly been unleashed. She wrapped her hands around his head and her legs around his waist.

There was urgency in the way they kissed, as though they couldn’t get enough of each other. Aira glued herself to him, heaving herself slightly off the bed.

She reached down to touch him between the legs, earning a groan of pleasure breathed right into her ear.

"What are you waiting for?" she asked, tired of his hands alone and wanting him inside her.

Zyren broke the kiss and looked straight into her eyes, his gaze burning.

"Say it," he said, an almost desperate need attached to his voice. "...please." The word made it clear it wasn’t an order.

Aira didn’t hesitate. She leaned in and whispered his name into his ear, wanting him to bring her so much pleasure that she would forget even her own.

"Zyren," she breathed. "Can you put yourself inside me?"

Her voice was barely above a whisper—but she didn’t have to ask twice.
