The Vampire King's Pet-Chapter 370: Enjoying himself
It didn’t take long before he suddenly straightened his back as a young maid walked toward him. She had a face he had seen before, but something about her instantly made him lower his head with respect.
Before hurriedly raising it back, making sure to appear normal and that nothing was out of play.
The maid blushed furiously, so much so that to an outsider it would have looked like a lover’s meeting and nothing more. She scooted closer and whispered in his ear.
"It’s time!" she whispered, her cheeks burning red.
Clay slowly nodded his head to show that he understood what she was trying to convey. He turned around to open the door to his room, where he beckoned with his hands to Vivian, who instantly moved.
A slightly glazed expression held in her eyes, as though she worshipped the feet Clay walked on, even as she stepped closer to him. He leaned toward her and whispered softly in her ear.
"You’ll act like I’m your servant. We’ll head to Aria’s room, and you’ll do everything you can to ensure we see her. Even if you have to kill the guards!"
The Zygon leader looked calm, but Clay was aware that he was beyond pissed. His second-in-command was dead, and they had all but been wiped out in a way that would take years for them to recover from.
For the plan, he had already been informed that the best thing would be to kill Aira without having to change into their monster forms, which meant that Vivian would be doing all the fighting.
Then, just before they left, they would have her transform into a Zygon, Clay having already placed the seeds inside her. If they were successful, she would gain Aira’s form, and they might be able to deceive Zyren—but neither of them would bet their lives on that fact.
Vivian slowly nodded her head to show that she fully understood what she was being asked, then stepped out fully from the room, closing the door behind them.
Vivian walked in front, Clay behind her, and the maid right behind him with a tray in her hand, which she covered with a napkin. It showed that she was carrying something nice, and it even smelled very nice too.
Very similar to the snacks Aira had slowly taken a liking to and liked to demand for at all hours of the day. There was no tension in the air as they moved, and even Clay didn’t feel the emotions that other humans did or had described to him.
At that moment, he felt only calm. The plan would either work out perfectly, and Aira would be dead—or something would go wrong, and they would take care of it. Zyren was away, which meant that without him there to stop them, there was absolutely nothing that could stop the Zygon leader, whose strength was something he had never seen before.
Steadily, they headed out of the servant section, even as all the servants slowly bowed toward Vivian, who ignored them like she normally would. Something they weren’t surprised by, since it was known that Clay now belonged to her.
Her coming to drag him away in the middle of the night was not a problem.
They slowly headed toward the main area of the royal castle, with no one trying to stop them as they entered and headed up the stairs. There was nothing about the way they walked that showed there was anything wrong with the group.
All of them were familiar people, so once Vivian spoke to them, telling them that Aria was expecting them, the guards saw no reason to stop them—at least not until they got upstairs to the door.
All three of them were shocked to see five guards where there should have only been two.
Clearly Zyren treasures her more than he acts, Clay thought to himself, wondering if kidnapping her wouldn’t be more useful to control Zyren than killing her. But one glance back was enough to tell him not to take that action again.
The maid behind him continued to smile, but it might as well have been like she had taken a knife to his neck. He fixed his gaze forward, bowing his head like a human should, not daring to make eye contact with the vampire guards as Vivian began to speak.
"I brought some sweets for Lady Aria. I haven’t seen her in a while!" Vivian said, a soft smile on her lips as she spoke. "...You can enter and confirm!" she said, waiting for at least one or two to step in so she could attack.
She was a strong noble vampire, but she didn’t think she could take down five vampires by herself. Having received her instructions, she knew she had to follow them to the letter.
One of the guards stepped closer, looking at them intently. The fight that had broken out with Zyren taking down a Zygon army had reminded the guards just how dangerous the Zygon beasts were, and how careful they needed to be.
But no matter how hard the guard stared, he knew that there was no way to be sure—except to call Lady Aria, who would be able to confirm.
"Wait here!" the guard ordered before turning around to walk back to where the other guards were, knocking on Lady Aria’s door and walking in the moment he got permission.

The faint smell of blood hovered slightly in the air as Zyren stood in front of them with a wild grin on his face. A couple more people were dead, especially in the back section of the hall where most of the relatives had been gathered.
It was brutal in a way that was hard to look at, but Zyren had no problem watching them. Even more, he almost seemed to be enjoying himself.
A grin spreading across his face as he watched all of them tremble in fear for their lives. His only regret was that Aira was not there to see it.
