The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 142: Prove It To Me
After speaking those words, Abigail didn’t waste another minute before dragging her husband away by grabbing his hand firmly. The more they waited here, the angrier he would get.
Now, she still had to spend three to four hours with this man, ah! How could she do it if he would fume the entire time?! The entire date plan would end up being null and void!
Nicholas’s mind, on the other hand, had already calmed down the moment she grabbed his hand. Even though Owen was this woman’s doctor, Nicholas was her husband. He had a greater authority on her than anyone else.
In his eyes, only Asher was a greater eyesore in his life who could dare to offend him for Abigail. Since Owen clarified his stance, why should Nicholas continue to grumble and fume in anger? He had better things to do.
Sure, he was still a little angry at his wife for lying to him. But that didn’t mean he would refuse to see her because of that. He had changed a lot and knew if he wanted to be more active in this relationship, he would have to pursue her without letting her know.
What was better than letting her chase him?
The corners of his lips curved up when she wasn’t looking as he stopped all of a sudden after reaching their car. He turned toward her and looked into her eyes seriously.
"Do you know what you’ve done?"
"En..." Abigail was indeed embarrassed. She stood there like a good student with her head lowered, looking at her feet obediently.
"Then, how are you going to explain it?"
"Well..." Abigail bit her lips. She couldn’t really say that she was afraid he would become jealous of Owen now, could she? It would be like targeting the man’s age directly.
Then she scratched the back of her head, still trying to come up with an idea, but she still failed.
Ah, how should she explain herself to him now?! Even if she lied a thousand times, she wouldn’t be able to clear her name!
Nicholas raised her eyebrows upon seeing the woman becoming more and more anxious. For some reason, he kind of enjoyed making her anxious like this. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
But aside, she should be taught a lesson for what she did. Thus, he opened his mouth and asked, "Do you like him?"
"No!"
Well, that was fast, but Nicholas won’t really back out without gaining some benefit. Thus, he said, "Then prove it to me."
"Huh?" Abigail looked at his face, completely confused.
"Prove it to me you don’t like him before the end of our date tonight."
Thus, Nicholas finally bluntly admitted to the girl that this was a date. Even Abigail hadn’t known this person could become so blunt when chasing a girl he likes. Her mouth hung wide open in shock at his words, but before she could say another word, she watched him turn around and open the backdoor of the car.
"Get in." Nicholas looked at her without any expression on his face. "I don’t have all day."
Abigail shut her mouth and obediently entered the car without saying another word, but there was a trace of blush on her cheeks. Right now, her mind drifted completely away from how she could lie to how she could actually make Nicholas believe that she didn’t like Owen like that!
Ugh, what a difficult task he had given to her!
Should she just tell him that she didn’t like him and tell him why she was attracted to Owen in the first place?
She hesitated and turned toward the man and said finally, "Uh... Nicholas.... I’m only good to Owen because he’s similar to the character in my book, at least in appearance."
Nicholas’s eyes flashed as he remembered his dreams and nodded. Indeed, a lot is similar. But he wasn’t satisfied with this kind of absurd explanation.
He didn’t even glance at her and continued to stare outside the window as if the city view was more alluring than the beautiful woman sitting beside him. Then he opened his mouth and said, "That’s fine, but it’s not enough. Try better than that."
Abigail groaned in frustration. She didn’t know what this ’better’ actually meant!
Should she just go and ask her doctor himself?!
No, no! This was definitely a big no! The matter itself was heavily related to Owen. How could she tell him something so embarrassing?!
What if she called her friend?
No, no, no! It was also a terrible idea. What would her friend think about her if she told Anne about Owen?! Wasn’t Abigail acting like a whore who liked to sniff on several people’s a**es?! She would rather die than speak a single word about this to anyone!
Then.... What the heck should she do!?
Even when they reached the venue, she still couldn’t develop a single idea. She was so engrossed in her mind that she didn’t even realize the car had already stopped. At this time, Nicholas turned toward her and merely stared at her from the side.
She’s still thinking about it. The answer to his question was very simple actually. If she were to be a little more leaning toward him, all she had to do was do the opposite, prove to him that she liked him more than others.
Wasn’t it a better way than others?
But this woman still hadn’t realized it. For some reason, Nicholas felt a little down after seeing this. He sighed and patted her shoulder. "We are here."
This girl also turns out to be a blockhead.
Abigail blinked out of her dazed state as she nodded and smiled sheepishly. "Okay."
The two of them got out one after another. Since the car stopped right in front of the venue, as soon as they got out of the car, the camera shutters went off one after another. Abigail almost felt those shutters blinded her as she blinked rapidly.
But she still ended up stumbling on her way because of too much brightness.
Ah, so embarrassing! She didn’t want to fall to the ground like this in front of everyone!
Just then, a warm hand roped around her waist, pulling her back to a firm chest. The man’s chest vibrated as he spoke into her ears, fanning her sensitive skin with his hot breath, "Careful."
