Chapter 88: I’ll Be Your Girlfriend?!

There was a reason why Nicholas entered the room. Actually, there are two reasons. One was that he wanted to show his status in front of Asher well that whatever the case, he was still this woman’s husband. It was a fact that wouldn’t change, at least for the next three years.

Asher could do whatever he wanted, but for the next three years, Abigail was his wife. So his cousin should just shut his mouth and stay put without speaking a single word.

The second reason was to confront his dear wife and scold her for hugging a random person just because he told her to destroy his garden. Was it too important to destroy things? Did she really think money grew on trees?

Even if Nicholas had too much money to waste, it didn’t mean he would really waste it all because of her.

Once or twice was fine, but he didn’t want his wife going on and on about destroying the garden of his throughout her life, every single day. Even he would, at one point, stop making the garden better,

Sometimes, Nicholas felt tired in his heart upon thinking of his wife. Why couldn’t she be more normal and wreak his life like this?

He pressed the bridge of his nose and said, "Why did you hug him?"

"Hmm?" Only now did Abigail realize what her husband was about. The corners of her lips ticked up as she walked closer and tilted her head. "Eh? I was just hugging a brother. Was that a crime?"

Nicholas’s face darkened as she said, "It’s not a crime if it’s your real brother, but he clearly-"

"Aiya, husband," she raised her hand, pinched his cheeks, and said, "You’re too adorable. How can you get jealous of such a simple thing like this?!"

He instantly grabbed her hand and glared at her. "Don’t play with fire." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"Don’t play with fire?!" Abigail glared at him and struggled to get her hand out of his firm grip. "Dear husband, isn’t it a wife’s duty to play with fire all night long?!"

Nicholas’s eyes widened after hearing those words coming out of this woman’s mouth so brazenly. His cheeks turned red as he glared at her. Even he didn’t know if his cheeks were red because of anger or embarrassment.

"As for my safety, you sent me here for a purpose, didn’t you? So what are you doing here?" Abigail asked the question she had wanted to for a long time, looking at him with a hint of interest in her eyes.

"I have come here to supervise things." He would never admit even to himself that he couldn’t see her going away from her and took a flight here with the help of his assistant the first thing she boarded. He just didn’t want to stay with Asher even for a second, and he knew his cousin well.

Since he liked his wife, that man would do everything in his heart and soul to keep the woman by his side, even if it meant keeping her at his own place. So, based on his suspicions, he arrived at this place and was even more shocked to see her hugging another man.

Good. Very good. She had successfully angered him to death once again!

He glared at her and said, "You’re not allowed to hug anyone else in front of my eyes!"

"So can I hug someone else behind your back?" Abigail was sure enjoying teasing her husband like this. "Eh? Why are you glaring at me again? Husband, your eyes will pop out. Carefully, will you?"

"Shut up!" Why... Just why did he even think of coming to this place?!

He took a deep breath and decided to take a flight back to his country and not make himself embarrassed anymore. But when he wanted to fetch his phone and book a return flight, his hands couldn’t move at all.

Fine. He would stay here and watch over her for a few more days just in case that damned murderer entered the scene.

Just as they were talking, the door of their room was knocked.

Nicholas walked over and opened it to see Asher standing in front of him. His eyes turned a few degrees colder as he nodded and said, "What?"

His voice was dripping with icy coldness as he spoke those words.

"I’m here to discuss a man with the two of you about how we can hide Abigail’s identity." He looked at the woman standing behind his cousin and smiled, "I hope you’re free."

"Yes!" Abigail also wanted to know what kind of plan her cousin-in-law had plotted to keep her safe and sound.

Thus, Asher also entered the door handed Abigail a Beauty essential kit, and said, "There’s a disguise mask in there. Wear it every time you go out. Second, here are the papers for your new identity."

Abigail turned the page and looked at the information. Here, her name was changed to ’Olivia Bennett’, and her identity was...

"No way!" Abigail’s eyes widened as she read out. "I’m an actress in your company and even your girlfriend?"

Nicholas’s eyes darkened as he snatched the paper from his wife’s hands and said, "This isn’t happening!"

"Alright, then you can take her back." Asher shrugged and stated, "We have to keep her safe, and what would be a better identity for her if not this? Do you have a better idea?"

"Anything can be a better idea." Nicholas didn’t want to agree to it.

Asher chuckled and said, "What? Are you afraid that this fake identity will turn into a reality if we go ahead with it? Don’t you have a single trace of faith in your own wife?"

The other didn’t say anything and continued to glare at his cousin-in-law.

"I agree," Abigail said after a long silence and stared at her husband, smiling, "Husband, I’m Abigail, not Olivia. We should lay down the rules and regulations first about how we should show ourselves in public. And didn’t we all want to confuse that murderer and find him?

"What would be a better opportunity than this? I’m sure William is working hard on this. So husband, please agree, for me."

Nicholas stared at his wife for a while as his fingers curled up to form a clenched fist. He wasn’t competent to protect his own wife. How funny!

He took a deep breath and said, "Okay."
