The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 97: He’s A Big Red Flag
Abigail thought of Asher as her heart thumped in her chest. Yes, she did have a replacement, and he was way better than Nicholas!
"I do have a replacement." And things were even going ahead in the same direction.
Faking a relationship with him, holding hands, etc were the things they were already going to do. So why not try him out too? After all, Asher was also a good choice.
The more Abigail thought about it, the more she felt in her heart that it was a good choice. She should tell her doctor about it soon!
Anne was stunned after hearing those words. She had thought that she would have to force her friend on blind dates, but who knew this girl had her eyes on other people too?!
Thank goodness the young woman called her. If not, Anne feared that Abigail would have probably ended up falling deeper for two men! God, how scary would that be in the end?!
"If you had another option already by your side, why do you want to stay with Nicholas that bad?!" Anne felt like her friend had gotten completely mad. "You have really fallen for him."
"I have not!" Abigail knew her heart very well as she said, "I know myself well. It’s just... Okay, I’ll just tell you the truth. Someone has been doing killings around me, basically brutally murdering people who dare to point fingers at me in public.
"Yes, that’s right, the people who were murdered until now in the skull origami accident were all the people who either slapped me or argued with me. We still don’t know who’s doing this, and that’s why I need to stay with Nicholas for my safety."
Anne was shocked to hear those words. Back at the party, she had originally thought the murder of that same woman who had slapped Abigail was merely a coincidence. But now, hearing those words, a chill sent down her spine as she took a deep breath and said, "Girl, how did you get yourself in such a mess?"
Abigail also wanted to cry after hearing those words. It wasn’t like she wanted to be in this mess. She had done everything within her capability to stay away from it, but she still ended up getting targeted by the killer.
What the heck did she do to receive such a treatment from the novel God or whoever created this damned world?! Did she offend a great personality to receive such a terrible fate? Or had she committed some great crime in her past life that forced her to such an end?
Ah, she didn’t want to die!
Thus, she voiced her worries right on her friend’s face.
"What should I do, Anne?" Abigail sniffed. "I’m scared."
"Don’t be scared!" Anne was also feeling a bit frightened, but she still cheered the girl up and said, "Should I come and meet you?"
"No!" Abigail almost yelled those words as she said, "It’s fine. I have gone on a business trip with my husband and his cousin for a change. I’ll be back later, and let’s meet then."
"Okay!" Anne relaxed and smiled. "How about you continue to stay with Nicholas for a while? Don’t be involved in any romance business until then, okay?"
Abigail nodded. "Okay... But...." How could she stay aloof when two charming men were around her? One was hiding his emotions while another was awkward as heck.
Oh, she couldn’t forget about Owen as well!
Ugh, why did all three of them have to be handsome as heck?!
Apart from that, she also had to play a couple with Asher for a few days or maybe weeks or months! How could she stay aloof?
By the end of this entire thing, she might end up falling in love with the two of them together! Even thinking about it made her heart tear up in frustration.
But she still nodded and hid her emotions well.
"Alright. I’ll listen to you."
"Phew." Anne was about to say something else when someone knocked on her door. She sighed and said, "I’ll have to go back to the set. Bye!"
They both hung up the call as Abigail pouted.
She was still as confused as before, but right now, her confusion wasn’t centered around seducing Nicholas anymore. Now, her bewilderment was entirely about whether or not she should stay with Nicholas and have a romantic connection with him.
Sure, he would help her, but did that mean she would have to spend the rest of her life with a man who didn’t even sneak her a single glance, what to speak of loving her? No, she shouldn’t be this irresponsible with her love life.
Maybe Asher is a better choice.
Abigail’s bottom lips jutted out as she sighed and lay on the bed, covering her eyes with her hands. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
For now, she would hide from both the men, not glancing at them for longer than five seconds and not talking to them for longer than five minutes. That was a better choice.
What Anne said was right. Abigail didn’t have any other option right now but to stay with Nicholas. So until then, she would collect money through Asher and when everything ended, she would hand over the contract money and say goodbye to this unwanted marriage.
Since she wasn’t wanted, why should she continue to lick Nicholas’s boots like this?
Sure, she had noticed that he showed a little bit of emotion for her, but he still refused to accept them and still treated her coldly. The man who would treat her indifferently despite liking her.... She felt like he was a big red flag.
Abigail nodded, feeling as if she had finally made a good decision. At this point, she had forgotten about the fact that she had given Nicholas a promise to fulfill his one wish that she could.
This aspect would certainly make changes in the future. But for now, she was happy as she got up and made her way to the bathroom to wash up.
The next day, when she woke up, she didn’t go knocking on Nicholas’s door. On the way downstairs, Asher was also with her as he greeted her cheerfully, "Abigail! Did you sleep well?"
Abigail merely nodded and continued her way downstairs, ignoring him altogether. Even though she didn’t like behaving like this with them, she didn’t have any other choice. After all, she had to protect her heart first.
