The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 98: To The Auditions
Asher was stunned seeing this, but he didn’t take it seriously and thought the woman was surely having a mood swing. But when he thought about their future fake dates, his heart turned giddy. He whistled as he followed the young woman downstairs.
Abigail ignored the man once again and walked toward the dining table. By this time, the table had already been set with multiple dishes of various kinds. She silently sat on the table.
On the surface, she looked calm and composed as she started eating her food without speaking a single word, but only she knew how anxious she actually was! Her feet tapped on the ground constantly, an indication of her extreme anxiety.
Honestly, she didn’t know whether she was doing right or not, but shouldn’t her own heart be her first choice?
Thus, she continued to act aloof and indifferent like that, continuing to eat her food. On the other side, Nicholas also came downstairs and sat on his seat, eating his food. At first, he ignored his wife and continued to have his food.
But when she didn’t speak a single word to him, he frowned.
Strange, she would talk to him every passing five minutes and make him feel irritated as heck?
He glanced at her, but then, the next second, he shook his head.
So what if she wasn’t talking to him and making him frustrated? Wasn’t it happening for good? He wouldn’t have to face her terrible mood swings and craziness anymore, at least not until he ate his food.
Thus, he also continued eating without speaking a single word. Of course, in his heart, he started feeling empty.
It had only been a little time that he spent with this young lady, but it turned out, he had already gotten used to her craziness. So much so that if she wasn’t talking to him, he felt like something was missing in his life.
Nicholas frowned and finally got up from his seat, eating half of what he usually would, and started going upstairs without saying a single word.
Of course, Abigail noticed that he hadn’t eaten his fill, and her heart was instantly bombarded with piles and piles of guilt.
God, what had she done?! She didn’t eat his fill only because of her! Damn it, should she just abandon her plan and start treating him as usual?
As Abigail was thinking about it and was about to get up she heard Asher’s voice. "Abigail, we have to go. You’ll have to give an audition."
"What?" Abigail felt like she heard wrong. "Audition?"
So fast?
Hadn’t she only requested this last night?
No, wait a minute, she hadn’t prepared a single bit for her auditions at all! How would she perform?!
The more she thought about it, the more she became anxious.
"But... I haven’t prepared anything." Abigail looked at Asher with an anxious-looking face that was hard to ignore.
"Don’t worry. Everything’s fine. You’re already selected, so you just have to go there and show your face." Asher’s voice finally softened seeing the woman paying attention to him and looking at him with the same level of reverence as before.
"Oh." Abigail nodded.
At this time, she wasn’t wearing her mask. Thus, she finished her food quickly and went upstairs to get ready.
Sure, she didn’t know how to do her make-up at all, but she still knew her basics. Last night, she had washed off the mask before sleeping. So she would have to do her make-up all over again.
Ugh, she hated make-up, especially when she would have to do it herself. Even applying eyeliner would take her hours.
Of course, back in the asylum, she barely touched the makeup kit. Only her nurse once had done her makeup for some event. That was it. It was only after entering this world did she realized the beauty and need of doing makeup every single day.
Thus, she had her mother-in-law teach her at home.
Of course, she failed many times, but now, she at least knew how to do the basics.
Thus, she wore the mask on her face, did a little touch-up on her face, and when she was ready, she sighed and walked out. Her blond hair looked too cool. Maybe she should go blond here on out!
After that, she walked out of there and headed downstairs. Asher was already waiting for her in the living room.
At the sight of her, he smiled and said, "Let’s go?"
Abigail nodded, but her eyes glanced back at her husband’s room. She frowned.
Should she tell him that she was heading out?
Asher looked back and realized what she was thinking about. He instantly said, "I told him already. No need to worry about him."
"Okay."
Even though she spoke like that, she still wanted to see him. For some reason, her heart felt empty at the thought of not teasing her husband every second of her life.
Still, she took a deep breath and walked behind the man, entering the passenger seat of his car.
Of course, she was going out, so how could Nicholas not sneak a glance outside the window?
He was standing right beside the window, staring at the car that headed outside the mansion with a cold look on his face.
At first, he thought he would be happy if his little wife wouldn’t trouble him any more, but when that even actually happened, he regretted wishing for it. Don’t they say, think what you wish for?
This was exactly what happened to him.
He didn’t like it when Abigail wasn’t focusing on him. But what else could he do? Force her to talk to him?
No.
In any case, he wouldn’t take the first step until and unless it was an urgent issue. Right now, the more urgent problem is dealing with that killer. After that, he would lay down his emotions in front of her and see whether she wanted to accept his proposal or not.
For him, the woman’s safety was more important than his emotions.
Thus, he returned to his laptop and started typing words, but this time, the speed of typing had increased already, showing his anxiety and frustration because of the situation.
As he was doing his work, he received William’s phone call.
"Boss, we found a trace, but..."
"What?" Nicholas knew what his assistant was talking about as his face turned serious. He even stopped typing on the laptop as his back straightened up.
"I strongly feel like it might be a group." William laid down his assessment of the situation after witnessing the evidence at hand. "When the first murder had occurred, the security camera showed a man wearing a black outfit from head to toe. But during the latest killing, the security footage showed a masked woman dragging the young man into the alley."
"Alright, give me the pictures." Nicholas then hung up the call as he sat there, staring at his laptop screen with a serious expression on his face.
