The Villain's Apocalypse-Chapter 39: Titan
Chapter 39: Titan
A massive commotion erupted in the distance.
His muscles tensed as he immediately shifted into a defensive stance. His instincts screamed at him, warning him of the incoming danger–whatever was approaching wasn’t just some low-tier beast.
The entire forest shook heavily as a thunderous roar reverberated through the area. Cassian covered his ears to prevent them from bursting from the sheer force of that powerful roar.
"Don’t tell me?!" His thoughts remained unfinished as he sensed a heavy pressure from within the forest. His body shivered with fear just from merely sensing its presence.
His eyes remained fixated on the forest ahead, staring deeply at the incoming creature.
A massive shadow loomed over the distant treetops, casting a perpetual shade on the sunlight. The shadow remained enormous both in size and its presence, its intimidating pressure boring down on the ground below. The shadow leaped forward and vanished into thin air, momentarily escaping from Cassian’s senses.
"Is it gone?" he softly whispered, hiding beside a massive tree trunk. His body tensed from fear and nervousness.
Then—a colossal figure burst through the dense foliage, releasing immense pressure everywhere through its sheer might.
BOOM!
The ground cracked beneath its weight, sending a violent tremor through the land.
Cassian narrowed his eyes, identifying the creature’s rank through its dense aura.
"A Titan-rank creature..." His voice was low, calculating. He swiftly unsheathed Genesis from his waist and held it tightly in his right hand, preparing for a possible collision.
The sunlight bore down on the creature, displaying its appearance in full glory.
Before him stood a Crimson Abyssal Drake—a beast with obsidian-black scales laced with streaks of glowing crimson veins. Its razor-sharp claws dug into the earth, molten lava dripping from its fangs as its fiery eyes locked onto him.
It was massive. At least twenty meters tall, its wings unfurled like blades of darkness, casting a suffocating shadow over the land.
Cassian sighed.
"Of course, it’s a damn Abyssal Drake... Just my luck."
These creatures weren’t just rare, they were walking calamities—beasts born from the deepest depths of mana convergence, capable of scorching entire regions.
And this one?
Its mana fluctuations were far stronger than an ordinary Titan-rank.
Cassian instinctively gripped Astralis, his body tensing as the Drake let out another ear-splitting roar, sending shockwaves that shattered the surrounding trees.
’Fighting it head-on is suicide.’
He swiftly scanned his surroundings, searching for an advantageous position. The terrain was rough—uneven cliffs, dense forests, and floating islands overhead.
Good.
Plenty of ways to maneuver.
A sudden chill ran down his spine as his senses screamed of life-threatening danger ahead. He acted swiftly and turned toward the drake, his golden eyes widening with shock.
The drake inhaled deeply—its crimson veins pulsing, mana surging violently as the fire began to coalesce in its maw.
’Shit. It’s charging a breath attack—’
BOOM!
A torrent of black fire erupted toward him, consuming everything in its path. The beam of pure destruction erupted down, rushing toward him with immense speed. His heart turned cold as a thick deathly aura loomed over his body, attempting to consume him whole. The fire was extremely hot–its sheer heat alone causing the air to sizzle.
His mind screamed inwardly as a rush of mana spread around his leg, covering it entirely with lightning.
Cassian’s eyes flashed with resolve as he activated [Lightning Steps]—his body flickering away in an instant.
FWOOOSH!
The attack obliterated everything behind him, turning the once-lush forest into a charred wasteland. Everything was gone, including the luscious grassland, dense bushes, and even the thick, towering trees.
His body reappeared back, landing on a higher ledge. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead as he stared down at the destruction.
"Thankfully I activated my skill on time else..."
He couldn’t even imagine the state his body would be in if he were to get hit by that thing.
The Drake snarled, its serpentine eyes locking onto him as it launched forward with terrifying speed—its wings slicing through the air like scythes.
Cassian barely had time to react. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
[LightSpeed]—!
His body blurred, narrowly avoiding the deathly swipe of the Drake’s claws. He twisted mid-air, gripping Astralis tightly before channeling mana into it.
’Let’s see what this staff can do.’ His mind recalled the previous scene vividly, focusing on copying the moves that Uravis had performed during his battle with Valegrith.
’It feels too vivid...as if he was deliberately showing it to me.’ he felt slightly confused but, he wasn’t in a situation to ponder on useless stuff.
His options were very limited for now, either do something or die so, he opted for the first option.
The ancient runes lit up, responding to his command. A powerful surge of elemental energy coursed through him, sending tingles up his arms. His body felt light...incredibly light as if he had turned into a feather itself. An almost invisible cloak of purple miasma covered his body, gently enhancing the innate mana within him.
He raised Astralis—
And the sky itself shuddered.
A celestial glow erupted, bathing the battlefield in an ethereal radiance.
Astronification–!
The orb of Elementus released a bright ethereal light, blinding anyone within the vicinity. The purple cloak surrounding him slowly solidified itself, reinforcing its passive ability by countless folds.
He instantly felt the changes within his body, feeling intoxicated by the immense boost. His strength increased by countless fold and the mana manipulation was on an entire different level.
With a mere thought, he could activate [Lightspeed] and vanish from the entire area.
"But, this is not enough." He clenched Genesis tightly, eying the drake warily.
The problem was still his star-rank battle strength–something he could do nothing about for now.
The Abyssal Drake hesitated briefly before barring its fangs toward him with a menacing expression on its face.
ROARR–!
It leaped forward and spread its wings, flying high above the sky.
"You are not the only one who can fly." Cassian lightly tapped the staff’s butt on the ground and took a step forward, hovering lightly above the floor. [Astronification] alone was a truly overpowering ability, he couldn’t grasp what more the staff could provide him with.
"I don’t have much time, I have to be fast with it." He tugged the staff behind and held Genesis tightly in a fighting stance.
Although overpowered, it shall have a major drawback–its limited time. Depending on the user’s rank, the time would slowly increase but, as of now, he only has thirty seconds, that too after expending almost all of his mana within his star-seed.
"Can I escape?" He briefly glanced down, beneath the mountain but shook his head immediately afterward. ’In these thirty seconds, the most I could do is probably travel a few hundred miles and once the time is over, I’m dead.’
The abyssal drake wouldn’t stop chasing after him even if he tried to escape from its eyesight. ’The most humiliating thing for a beast is to let their prey escape and obviously, it wouldn’t let me do that.’
The drake was glaring at him with those massive serpentine eyes, its desire quite obvious. ’Nope, no chance.’
"Fight to death it is then, COME–!" He clenched the glass sword tightly and unleashed his move.
