Chapter 190

Song Luosheng left after staying for over half an hour, mainly because Song Luokui and Chi Yu kept smiling at each other while eating, which he couldn't bear to watch.

However, remembering his promise not to interfere with whatever Song Luokui and Chi Yu did once she woke up from her coma, he didn't say anything more. After the couple finished eating, Song Luosheng stayed for a bit longer before leaving with Aunt Gui.

With only Song Luokui and Chi Yu left in the room, Song Luokui looked at Chi Yu and asked, "Don't you need to go to the company?"

Chi Yu shook his head, "There are so many people at the company. If they can't manage without me, I'd have to replace all of them."

Song Luokui hugged him, "Thank you for your hard work."

Chi Yu looked at the sunlight outside the window, remembering when she had just woken up. "Would you like to go out and soak up some sun?"

Song Luokui nodded, "Sure."

Chi Yu quickly brought over the wheelchair. He carefully lifted Song Luokui into it, draped a jacket over her shoulders, and hung a water bottle on the chair before pushing her out.

As soon as they left the room, they encountered a nurse who greeted them. Since Song Luokui's hospitalization, all the nurses in the hospital had learned about the incredibly beautiful young woman in the VIP ward who had finally awakened after a month-long coma.

Everyone said it was her handsome fiancé's daily care that had moved the heavens. The nurses had never seen such a well-matched couple before, and now they were all peeking out from the nurses' station to watch as the man pushed his partner out for a walk.

Chi Yu wheeled Song Luokui to a small garden nearby. The sun was quite strong at that moment, so Chi Yu, worried about the heat, positioned Song Luokui under a tree. "Shall we stay here?" he asked.

Song Luokui nodded, "Yes."

She lifted her head to look at the leaves above. Sunlight filtered through the gaps between the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground and across her body.

Song Luokui squinted, shading her eyes with her hand as she gazed at the blue sky, occasionally spotting a low-flying airplane.

It felt so good to be alive.

Chi Yu crouched beside her, holding her hand as they looked up together. Song Luokui finally spoke, "When I was in a coma, there was this faceless thing trying to kill me. It trapped us in a dark room, but in the end, I killed it and escaped. I finally saw the sunlight again."

"The sunlight on my skin... it really is quite warm," Song Luokui mused.

Chi Yu tightened his grip on her hand, resting his head on her leg. "You were so brave!"

Song Luokui chuckled, "I learned how to fight from watching you and my brother when we were kids. Aren't I awesome for taking that thing down?"

Chi Yu agreed, "You are."

Song Luokui continued, "Back then, I should have teamed up with my brother to fight you. Hehe, maybe you wouldn't have been able to beat us both."

Chi Yu nodded, "Mm-hmm, you'd definitely win every time."

Song Luokui responded confidently, "Of course I would."

Worried that Chi Yu had been crouching for too long, Song Luokui patted him. "Let's go to that bench over there so you can sit down too."

Chi Yu stood up and pushed her to the bench, then sat down beside her. They chatted quietly, while passersby instinctively lowered their voices, not wanting to disturb the beautiful scene before them.

After an hour outside, Chi Yu, concerned about tiring her out, wheeled Song Luokui back to her hospital room. As Song Luokui lay down to rest, she held onto Chi Yu's hand and patted the space next to her. "You should rest well too. You need to be in good shape to take care of me. Why don't you lie down and sleep here?"

The bed was quite large, after all: they were in the VVVIP ward.

"Alright," Chi Yu agreed. He took off his jacket and shoes, then lay down next to Song Luokui. He wrapped one arm around her, and Song Luokui yawned, quickly falling asleep. Chi Yu propped his head up with his hand for a while, kissed the corner of her mouth, and then slowly drifted off to sleep as well.

A nurse came to check on them once but didn't dare disturb them. In the afternoon, Song Luosheng also came by, saw the two sleeping on the bed, and left without waking them.

In the days that followed, Song Luokui slowly recovered, gradually regaining her ability to walk. Each time she tried, Chi Yu would either support her or follow closely behind. Zhang Xiyue, Lou Sasa, and others also came to visit her.

They hugged her tearfully, exclaiming, "You really scared us to death!"

Zhang Xiyue said, "I was supposed to be your bridesmaid. And I wanted to be the godmother to your child, or have you be the godmother to mine."

Lou Sasa chimed in, "I want to be the godmother to Kuikui's child too."

Zhang Xiyue retorted, "You should find a boyfriend first."

Lou Sasa shot back, "I haven't even mentioned that you secretly got a boyfriend. And he's from... " the Chi Family Heir's side.

Song Luokui laughed, "Sure, sure, you can all be godmothers."

The hospital room was lively for two hours, but not wanting to hinder her recovery, they left, promising to throw a grand celebration when she was discharged.

Song Luokui smiled and waved goodbye to them. Later, she met with Yu Hui from the company to inquire about the business situation.

Yu Hui reported, "The company is doing fine, everyone's just been worried about you. Here are the paper cranes that everyone folded for you." Yu Hui handed over a bottle filled with paper cranes.

Song Luokui was pleasantly surprised, "Everyone made these?"

Yu Hui nodded, "Yes. Everyone prayed for your safety. President Song also came to check on the company, so everything's under control."

Song Luokui said, "My brother has worked hard too. Please thank everyone for me. When I'm better, I'll come back to the company and treat everyone to a meal."

Yu Hui smiled, "I'll definitely convey the boss's feelings to everyone."

Later, Zhou Yuan and others, even Li Yanbei from Chi Yu's side, came to visit. Song Luokui spent almost the entire day receiving visitors.

However, Chi Yu and Song Luosheng eventually became concerned about disturbing her rest and stopped allowing further visitors, saying they could all have dinner together after she was discharged.

Song Luokui counted on her fingers, "I haven't even left the hospital yet, and I already owe so many meals."

Chi Yu reassured her, "It's fine, I'll accompany you to all of them."

"Mm-hmm."

After waking up, Song Luokui stayed in the hospital for another month. When the doctor finally cleared her for discharge, she wore a red outfit, crossed over a pan of fire, and firecrackers were set off. Both the Song and Chi parents happily came to pick her up.

The two families had a feast at the Song residence, with a large table laden with delicacies such as abalone, shark fin soup, roast suckling pig, roast duck, roast goose, roast chicken, lobster, hairy crabs, and many more dishes.

"Cheers!" Everyone clinked glasses happily. Song Luokui was drinking a soft drink, while the others were drinking alcohol.

Song Moqian said, "I hope everyone will have peace and success in the future."

Chi Yong added, "I hope our two families will live in harmony and be blessed with good fortune."

"Let's toast again!" they exclaimed.

Today, everyone was in high spirits. At the dinner table, Song Moqian and Chi Yong were talking and drinking simultaneously. Sheng Rong and Yan Sui tried to persuade them to slow down, but to no avail. Sheng Rong even wiped the corner of her eye; they were truly happy.

At their age, isn't the greatest wish for their children to be safe and happy? Thankfully, thankfully, it seemed to be coming true.

Song Luokui poured a glass for Song Luosheng, saying, "Thank you for taking care of me, brother. I'd like to propose a toast to you."

Chi Yu chimed in, "I'd also like to propose a toast to my brother."

Song Luosheng got goosebumps, "Who told you to call me brother?"

Song Luokui playfully coaxed, "Brother~"

Song Luosheng relented, "Alright, alright. I'll return the toast to you both."
