The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 571: The judgement
It was a book signing event, and Hazel had a mask on with a face cap to hide her identity. Maledicta approached with a smile, "Please, can I get your autograph. I am a huge fan." She chimed.
Hazel nodded, she found nothing weird about signing an autograph. It was a copy of the priestess and the dragons. "Here," she chimed handing over the book
"Thanks!! "Maledicta squealed like a fan girl, then accepted the book. In the process, her bracelet accidentally pricked Hazel, drawing out her blood.
"Ouch, that hurts." Hazel winced. "I am so sorry." Maledicta put on a pitiful appearance. Trying to help.
Hazel moved away, "It’s fine." She said then glanced at the line. "Next..."
Maledicta nodded then left the event. She had already wanted Hazel’s blood to create the system

Back in the present, the court proceeding of Cedric before the gods in Elaris
Thyros and Avelora were surprised that Maledicta had done such a thing. Her interference had brought disgrace to Raziel’s name. Cedric just stared at the goddess, amazed at how far someone would go for revenge, or rather to satisfy her, because Raziel never confessed to her.
"Still Maledicta didn’t manipulate him into unleashing divine punishment on Draconia." Nyxoria chirped in trying to reduce the allegations on Maledicta.
Raziel scoffed at Nyxoria. "That isn’t surprising for you to say when you equally wanted the boy dead." He said and Nyxoria went silent. It wasn’t a secret that she despised Cedric’s existence.
It was a stain on her family legacy. Elysia’s biggest betrayal. "So what do you suggest we do, dear king of Netheralis?" Avelora asked Raziel, her attention was solely on Raziel now..
"If Maledicta hadn’t made an attempt on Elysia’s life, Cedric would never have been born, and he wouldn’t have been made to pay for sins that weren’t his. Although he isn’t completely innocent we can say Maledicta was the root catalyst of all this..."
Raziel explained the situation. Maledicta’s sharp eyes were glaring dead at the man she once loved. He didn’t even glance at her once as he continued his narration.
"The rules stop us from interfering directly but she went against those rules. She should bear the majority of the consequences while Cedric’s punishment should be mild." Raziel explained. Maledicta scoffed her sharp voice ringing from the back
"Tell me which god or goddess hasn’t interfered for amusement before. Why should mine be different?" She defended herself. Raziel sighed, his eyes still staring at his mother.
"Has any god activity stalked someone for years through time and space. That wasn’t amusement but something darker not to forget you harmed my wife." His voice went cold, and Raziel’s fist was trembling, holding back his rage.
"Enough!" Thyros’ voice boomed, he stood up, and the entire room went silent. "Cedric would be spared from serious punishment but he would still bear the consequences of his actions," Thyros said.
"He would be stripped of his immortality but he can keep his abilities. He would age as a normal mortal as for Maledicta...." His eyes fell on the goddess who shrank behind.
"Your fate would be determined by Elysia who suffered greatly under you. She would serve the queen of Netheralis for 300 years..." That is my final verdict. Thyros declared.
Maledicta’s face went pale. Nyxoria was against it, but she couldn’t oppose Thyros’s 300 years of service under Elysia, which was Thyros giving her to be tortured under Raziel.
"But you can’t do that. You can’t..." The words slipped out of her mouth. She didn’t even bother running because there was no escape. Avelora chirped in, her voice laced with disdain, "Do you prefer we strip you of your immortality and hand you over to the boy whose life you wrecked?"
Her already pale face turned ghostly. Maledicta bowed her eyes. In a matter of seconds, she was surrounded by guards who scoffed at her hands.
This was fine, 300 years in the life of an immortal’s life wasn’t long. It would be over before she knew it, at least in the end, her selfish goal was reached. Cedric would live the rest of his days cursing himself for killing Abrielle and Elysia would have to watch.
The chains creaked as she was pulled away. Cedric, who had been dazed this entire period, trying to process how his entire life was a sick joke for a goddess’ amusement, asked. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"What of my wife? She was also a victim. If Maledicta hadn’t switched them I wouldn’t have killed her." He asked calmly, maybe there was a way.
Thyros glanced at the Oracle. "She has a blank fate. It can be rewritten." The oracle said. Cassius had interfered with Abrielle’s soul, which gave her a blank fate.
Avelora nodded, it was she and Thyros’ short sight that something like this happened. "There is a way but it depends on her. She has Cassius’ blood running through her, so she can be brought back, but since Abrielle had lived in two life lines, she can choose to go back to either one."
Cedric’s heart skipped a beat. There was a chance she could go back to life without him. "You will be allowed to meet her and whatever decisions she makes will stand..." Avelora added.
Maledicta’s stomach churned. This could not be happening after everything she did. There was no way. She tried to break free, a desperate cry. "You can’t interfere with the dead. He was born cursed, let him live ...." The rest of her words were cut off.
Elysia’s palm ran across her face. Tears streaked down Elysia’s face. "You have already done enough. Just stop." Elysia sniffed, fighting the tears. Raziel’s demeanour changed seeing his wife cry.
"Take her out of here." He commanded then pulled Elysia into a hug. Maledicta’s voice faded as she was pulled away. Raziel’s hold tightened as Elysia trembled. "It is over now." He said.
Cedric bowed his head, trying to process everything. Someone touched his shoulders. He glanced at Maximus, "Don’t you want to see her..." Maximus said then nodded at Cassius
They all disappeared and appeared in a garden. Cedric could still sense this was Elaris. In front of him was a bridge that went over a lake leading to a gazebo.
"She is waiting for you." Cassius urged him. Cedric drew in a deep breath then took the first step on the bridge. Each one felt heavier than the previous one.
