The Wandering of an Unstuck Stepbro: Multiverse Travel-Chapter 332: A weekend 2
Chapter 332: A weekend 2
(Ryoto's pov)
I believe it's important to mention that I wasn't wearing only my swimming trunks. I was also dressed in a white hoodie that covered my whole upper body. It may have looked strange, but this specific hoodie was made of a very thin material, and together with its light color, it was made to be worn in hot weather.
Mikan may have looked at me strangely when I got in the water, but her jaw dropped when we started splashing at each other. Not even one droplet found its target when I used water bending to protect myself. Then her eyes widened, and she tried to run away when I gathered a big ball of water because she knew what was coming next. My younger sister must be very smart because she was correct, and the ball of water made contact with her.
When we were done playing, we went to our towels to dry ourselves. As we walked, she gave me a stink eye and pouted.
"It's not fair." She said as she looked at me, who was barely wet. The only source of water on me was the sea, and none was because of her.
"Life's not fair."
I answered as I made a quick motion and gathered all the moisture from my body, drying myself in the process. I dropped the water after I was done. Mikan, seeing this, was most definitely jealous because drying her hair alone would take a long time, so as a good older brother, I playfully showed my tongue to her.
Of course, I was joking, so after she thought I was serious, I dried her fully. I was a bit tempted to drop the water I gathered on top of her again, but that would have been too mean.
"...Thanks, Ryoto."
"You are very welcome. Now that you are dry, do you want to stay with me under the umbrella or play in the sand?"
"...I'm not a child." She said.

"Neither am I, but I'll probably either build a sand castle later or dig a big hole. Maybe both. You don't need to be a child to enjoy something, but sometimes it's easier to enjoy something when you are younger."
I said what I wanted to say and lay on the towel under the umbrella with my arms under my head. Mikan could do what she wanted, and to my delight, she went to play with someone. I couldn't relax for long because I noticed Yui being hesitant to enter the sea even with her big floaty.
Sigh
I sighed as I couldn't leave her alone in good conscience, so I got up and approached Ms. Shameless.
The whole time I was walking, she didn't notice me. It was both because she was too distracted by the sea and because I was walking silently out of habit. So when I was finally next to her and poked her on the shoulder to get her attention, she jumped in fright.
"Kya!!!"
She then turned to me with an angry expression.
"What are you doing!!?" She demanded an answer from me as she put her hands on her waist a bit above her hips.
"Well... I noticed that you are not entering the sea, so I thought that you couldn't swim."
Of course, I was correct, and Yui's reaction only confirmed it. She was embarrassed by her inability to swim.
"Shut up! Leave me alone!"
I ignored her refusal to acknowledge what I said and continued talking.
"Besides, you have your rubber ring, so you don't have to worry about drowning." I didn't add 'too much' even if I thought about it. I mean, it's still a possibility. Not with me around, but still.
"That may be true, but..."
She was still not convinced.
"Then how about I help you learn how to swim?" I proposed. We are here to have fun, and if she can't swim, she can't do that. Also, she may lose some hair from stress when she learns where we are.
I started walking towards the water again as if she already agreed.
"W-wait!!! Are you planning on swimming in your hoodie?"
I expected this kind of reaction from Kotegawa, and I couldn't stop myself.
"How bold of you. Invite me for dinner first before you try to get me out of my clothes."
My response caused her to flush red and mumble incoherently. It was kind of cute how she acted.
Without saying anything else and without any warning, I took her hand and gently guided her to follow me. I don't know if it was a conscious or unconscious decision on her part, but she allowed me to pull her. As the ground under our feet became further and further away from the sea level, Yui became more and more scared.
"Don't you dare let go of my hands!"
I rolled my eyes, not that anyone could see it. Does she really have such a low opinion of me? It was a rhetorical question. I knew that she was just scared and panicked because of her fear. She also tried putting on a brave face at the same time.
I started instructing her how to float without her floatie. It wasn't easy for her, and it's often the case with people who are a bit scared of swimming, but with some patience, she was able to float while holding onto my hands. She had her eyes closed, however, and she had them shut tightly with no intention of opening them.
It was time for the next step, and I let go of one of my hands.
"W-w-wait!!! Don't let go! Don't let go!" Yui panicked as she tried to grab anything with her now free hand.
"Calm down. I still have your other hand, and I'm not letting go of it. Try to do a swimming motion with your free arm while I pull you. Don't forget to move your legs at the same time."
And so our lesson continued. Yui was starting to be more confident and even opened one of her eyes. Finally seeing with her own eyes that it was somehow safe, she relaxed a bit, and that was a perfect time for me to let her go. She panicked once again, but to her surprise, she didn't drown. She couldn't even if she wanted with me here but she didn't need to know that. A lot of people just need a bit of self-confidence, and suddenly, something clicks that allows them to swim.
Yui, seeing that she could stay above water on her own, couldn't be happier, and a beautiful smile bloomed on her face. It probably felt for her like this day couldn't get any better, but that felt like a challenge, and I don't run away from challenges, so I used water bending not only on Yui but also on everyone else. I created a whole water park with my power for everyone here.
It was a fun time, and out of everyone, I bet Yui had the best time. Even Alme, who was literally in her element, wasn't as full of smiles as she was. But alas, the day was ending, and so was our short vacation, and Lala started preparing her teleporting device to get us back home. It shouldn't take longer than a minute, but as time passed, unease crept into everyone but me and, surprisingly, Alme.
"Hehe~ It looks like we can't get back home." Lala said awkwardly as she scratched the back of her head.
