The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 18: Stone Pot
Seeing that she didn’t cling to him like before and didn’t say anything disgusting, his wolf eyes flashed with surprise.
It’s better that she doesn’t come over, saves him the disgust, at least she has some self-awareness.
He placed the prey he was holding in his mouth on the ground.
A flash of white light followed, and he transformed into a human form.
Seeing Luna Sutton sitting there in a grass skirt, her flesh piled up revealingly, his face instantly darkened.
What on earth is she wearing?
But he couldn’t be bothered to care, just felt that ugly people make more trouble.
Corbin Crowley noticed several baskets lined up next to her, something he’d never seen before and didn’t know the name of, but he could tell they were made from vine weaving.
He thought they seemed very convenient for carrying things, but had no idea where Luna Sutton got them from.
His gaze fell into the baskets, each one filled to the brim with wild fruits, wild vegetables, burrs, various types of fungi, and other miscellaneous items.
Seeing those fungi, he couldn’t help but frown, "What did you bring these things back for? They’re poisonous, don’t you know?"
He pointed to the basket containing the fungi.
Luna Sutton glanced at him and explained, "These fungi aren’t poisonous, they are edible, and very delicious and nutritious."
Corbin Crowley clearly didn’t believe her, frowning deeply, "Don’t blame me for not warning you, if you died from eating them, it’s not my problem."
Seeing he didn’t believe her, she didn’t bother explaining further; when she cooked it later, he’d know whether it was poisonous or not.
However, making food required a pot; without one, having as many ingredients as she liked was useless.
She remembered something and looked over at Corbin Crowley, unable to stop herself from asking, "By the way, do you know where I can find a stone pot? One that’s hollow in the middle with a concave bottom, but smooth inside."
Stone pots might heat slowly, but they were usable.
As for clay pots or iron pots, those were impossible to find in the primitive beast world.
Unless clay was made and iron discovered, it would be impossible to create and forge such things.
Corbin Crowley apparently didn’t understand, frowning as he looked at her, "Stone pot? What’s that?"
Luna Sutton patiently explained, "It’s a stone container used for boiling food, hollow in the middle to hold water or food, best if it’s thin."
Too thick and it would heat very slowly.
Corbin Crowley still didn’t seem to understand, frowning tightly, "How can a stone hold water or food? What nonsense are you talking about?"
She felt a bit speechless but knew she couldn’t blame him, this world hadn’t yet developed the use of stone pots.
She thought for a moment and tried to explain more simply, "It’s about finding a hollow stone with an oval bottom that can hold things, and then we can start a fire underneath to cook the food. But it can’t be too thick, or it will heat too slowly."
Hearing this, Corbin Crowley seemed to understand a bit, "You mean, like a clay pot used for boiling food, but made of stone?"
"Yes!"
Luna Sutton nodded, thinking Corbin Crowley finally got it for once.
Corbin Crowley said nothing, frowning in thought.
He seemed to be considering where such stones could be found.
A moment later, he glanced at her and said, "There are many oddly shaped stones over by Adamantus, maybe you can find what you’re describing there."
"Adamantus?"
Her eyes brightened, and she quickly got up and moved to his side, eagerly asking, "Is that place far from here?"
Corbin Crowley saw her suddenly approach, her face almost the size of a millstone, looking at him.
He turned his head away in distaste, saying coldly, "Not far. If you go quickly, it takes about half an hour."
Luna Sutton didn’t miss the disdain in his eyes, and though it made her uncomfortable,
she didn’t take it to heart.
She looked up at the sky, seeing the sun was setting, likely about three in the afternoon.
Half an hour is one hour round trip.
Returning would be around five, and it wouldn’t be dark yet. If nothing goes wrong, she should be able to make it back in time to meet up with the tribe’s Beastmen.
She looked over at Corbin Crowley, thinking of asking him to take her to Adamantus.
But knowing how much this man disliked her, he probably wouldn’t agree easily.
Luna Sutton sighed inwardly but still tried to speak up, "Well... Corbin Crowley, can you take me to Adamantus?"
Corbin Crowley frowned at her, refusing without thinking, "No."
The cold tone left no room for hesitation.
She had already anticipated he would refuse, so she wasn’t overly disappointed.
She thought for a moment and said, "If you take me to Adamantus and find the stone pot, I can make some delicious food for you, something you’ve never had before."
Corbin Crowley looked at her with his silver eyes, laughing mockingly, "No need, I wouldn’t dare eat what you cook."
Someone who can’t even roast meat properly, expecting her to make delicious food?
Listening to his mocking words, Luna Sutton looked embarrassed.
It was the original character who couldn’t roast meat, not her.
She wouldn’t take the blame for it.
Thinking that the original character really knew nothing but eating, no wonder Corbin Crowley didn’t believe it.
Luna Sutton gritted her teeth and decided to use her trump card, "Corbin Crowley, don’t forget, Father asked you to look after me, but you left me here alone and went hunting."
She deliberately paused, then continued, "I just encountered a Saber-toothed Tiger and was almost eaten. Luckily, Rhys Blackwood was nearby hunting and saved me in time. If he hadn’t come, I’d probably be in the Saber-toothed Tiger’s stomach by now."
"If I were to tell Father about this, what do you think he’d say?"
Even if it might provoke Corbin Crowley’s resentment, she didn’t care.
With a stone pot, she could make delicious food, diversifying her diet, no longer surviving on roasted meat, grilled fish, and wild fruits every day.
Besides, she believed once she made good food, Corbin Crowley’s goodwill toward her would naturally increase.
As the saying goes, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
Corbin Crowley’s face changed, and he looked sharply at her, his silver eyes carrying a hint of fierceness, "Are you threatening me?"
Luna Sutton wasn’t afraid, meeting his gaze with determination, "How is this a threat? I’m just stating the facts."
Corbin Crowley’s lips pressed into a thin line, his expression unpleasant.
He indeed hadn’t carried out the leader’s instructions to take care of her properly.
But if he brought Luna Sutton with him, how could he hunt? She was completely a burden.
That’s why he told her to stay put before he left.
Who knew she wouldn’t listen and ran around on her own.
Meeting a Saber-toothed Tiger and getting eaten would serve her right.
But ultimately, it was his fault.
If Luna Sutton really told the leader, even if the leader disliked his daughter, he would likely blame him.
Corbin Crowley looked at her with dark, cold eyes, "So, what do you want?"
Luna Sutton saw his tone soften and was delighted, "As long as you take me to Adamantus and find the stone pot, I’ll pretend this never happened, how about that?"
Corbin Crowley stared at her for a moment, seemingly weighing the pros and cons.
After a moment,
he spoke coldly, "Fine, I’ll take you."
Luna Sutton was happy when he agreed, her face breaking into a bright smile, "Thank you, Corbin Crowley."
She knew she was very ugly now, and her smile might look uglier, but she still wanted to smile.
Corbin Crowley looked at her smile and only found it incredibly glaring.
He must be crazy to agree to take her to Adamantus.
