Chapter 21: Guiding Session (4)

Ayen concentrated his mind on guiding the chaotic energies around Khal’s wavelength, which was also the mana toxins that accumulated throughout the years.

Of course, he was aware that completely dispersing them was impossible and needed several guiding sessions to stabilize them. Ayen would not do that, as Devion was also waiting for his guiding.

Now, the doubts had cleared. For some reason, he could actually guide Khal, an SS-class Esper. Ayen was unable to dwell on how this happened, and his whole attention was on guiding Khal.

During which, at some point, Khal was holding his hand a little more tightly than before. Ayen noticed the heat coming from Khal’s skin, as though he were feverish.

Did something go wrong?

Earlier, he was only slowly guiding Khal, afraid to make a mistake. This time, Ayen concentrated his guide energy, entangling more with Khal’s wavelength. He felt the mana toxins becoming cleansed much faster than before.

As if electrocuted by the sudden surge of Ayen’s guide energy, Khal’s fingers twitched and almost withdrew. Ayen was holding his hand firmly in place.

Ayen thought he heard a groan come from Khal’s lips. He nodded as he understood. Throughout the years of not being guided, a sudden guiding session might indeed be painful for an esper.

Of course, Devion was seeing the truth, and his lips twitched.

Khal actually moaned out of pleasure, his breathing slowed down, and smoke came out of his lips as he breathed. He looked so out of it.

The air around him froze as a result, creating small ice, but it disappeared as soon as it fell on the ground.

There were always stories about the pleasure of a guiding session for an esper, especially when the compatibility was the highest between them and the guide.

One of the primary reasons Espers were obsessed with their guides was the induced pleasure of the guiding session itself.

Devion had not experienced that before, and neither had Khal, and now... He licked his lips in anticipation. His gaze locked on Ayen, who had his eyes closed and wore a calm but serious expression.

He looked so focused, and for the time being, he did not show any indication that he was in pain. Devion watched this all unfold, waiting for his turn but also ensuring nothing happened during the guiding session.

This was both a vulnerable time for an esper and a guide, so it was always advised that guiding take place in a guiding facility or in a safe environment.

Ayen let his energy flow through Khal slowly. His judgment was correct; the years of accumulated mana toxins were too much for one guiding session to thoroughly cleanse. Especially so, as Khal was an SS-class Esper, his use of his mana was greater than that of ordinary Espers.

It made him wonder how Khal could survive and use his abilities despite all these toxins in his body throughout these years. Devion definitely was in the same condition as him.

"Terrible" was an understatement. Ayen erased his apprehensions and decided to wholeheartedly guide the two as much as he could. Consider this as him reciprocating their help.

Ayen was spot on. Devion and Khal were far off from their peak; occasional headaches and hallucinations also haunted them every day. The reason they chose to seclude themselves in the most dangerous forbidden zone, away from prying eyes, was because of this. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

They were technically at death’s door.

Yet, they continued their duties each day, ignoring the continued accumulation of toxins by using their abilities, no matter how efficiently they used them.

Ayen took a deep breath and slowly opened his eyes; his guiding energy withdrew from Khal, indicating the end of the guiding session.

When he first opened his eyes, Khal was the first one he saw. Ayen blinked, stunned by what he witnessed. Khal was sweating, looking feverish.

"Is he..." Ayen was about to ask if something went wrong, but a voice interrupted him. Who else, the other SS-class esper in the room?

"He’s fine. He’s only, uh... on cloud nine, don’t worry." Devion had a smile on his face, saying that.

Ayen was suspicious of that smile.

"We only have to wait," Devion reassured once again.

Ayen stared at Khal and soon also noticed that, despite looking feverish, there were no abnormalities around him. Probably because of the guiding session, his body was shocked.

Shock... If Devion heard that, he would burst out in laughter once more. Sure, Khal was more than just ’shock’. Ayen really had a way with his words, and what was terrifying was that he did not even know.

Soon enough, Khal moved, and his eyes opened. The sweat on his forehead glistened, and so did the glimmer of his eyes. A small smile appeared on his lips.

"Thank you," Khal squeezed Ayen’s hand on his. "That was amazing, really." More than amazing.

Devion suppressed his laughter but grinned. Khal was amused and winked, as if to say, You’ll feel it too, asshole. Devion’s grin only widened.

He did not mind becoming a laughingstock if he was subjected to the same pleasure, actually.

Khal sighed as if not satisfied, but knew the limits and pulled his hand away. Even so, he still felt the lingering effects of Ayen’s guiding energy pouring onto him, guiding his wavelength, and the ecstasy of it all was out of this world.

He licked his lips and finally understood how obsessions and greed over guides came to be. He glanced towards Devion, who was now too excited to even care about him.

Ayen already held Devion’s hand, preparing to guide him. Khal made eye contact with Devion; their expressions clashed. He smiled, "Good luck, babe." He mouthed.

Devion rolled his eyes, but a toothy grin appeared on his lips.

"Fuck you." He even did the middle finger on his other hand.

The corners of Khal’s eyes crinkled. "Gladly."

Devion laughed but soon faded; his expression changed, and he fell silent. Then his face flushed. Khal grinned and found this amusing, but he did not have the mind to tease Devion.

He knew the feeling, and watching Devion be subjected to the same pleasure made his pupils darken inexplicably. Khal licked his lower lip and glanced at Ayen.

His gaze turned darker.

Ayen could not see what was happening around him again, choosing to close his eyes and concentrate on guiding Devion. However, the hairs around his nape stood for a second, making him frown.

What was that...?

No. He soon shook his head and focused on guiding Devion once again. His condition was not much different from Khal’s; Ayen controlled his wavelength much better than before.

Although mastering it from the first experience was impossible, Ayen was not blindly guiding Devion with Khal as the basis. Once more, a groan was heard that came from Devion.

Ayen was not surprised and expected it. He only focused on what he was doing and did not think of checking on Devion’s condition, as if something happened, Khal would surely notify him.
