"Do you guys have to be here right now?" Si Huang Chen addressed this question to his friends, Du Fuzi and Dong Rongyan.

He was personally supervising the arrangements of the private dining room in his hotel as he did every year. The Zhang family annual lunch was a big event for them because at least three to six million was spent by the family on just this one lunch. Sometimes it was more than that and one year, they spent twelve million.

His father prioritized the lunch, and so did he. It was like a symbol of the greatness of their hotel. Last year the lunch had been cancelled because of Caishen's accident. Now that it was back on the books, the hotel had to prove that it still had what it took to host and impress the guests.

So far, everything was perfect, with the exception of the two eyesores that had showed up for no reason.

"We came to have lunch." Du Fuzi replied.

Si Huang Chen noticed a flower on the center table whose leaf was dropping and he called over one of the managers.

"Change this to a new one, a fresh one." he told her. Then he turned his friends and said hastily, "Go to another one of our restaurants and have that lunch. We even have one on the rooftop. This private dining room is reserved."

He was too busy to deal with them because this lunch came with a lot of pressure. It also came with press because reporters did not shy away from the opportunity to capture pictures of the wealthy Zhang family.

If they caught one of them in a compromising position, it was even better then because it was a guaranteed pay day.

"We know it's reserved, it's the annual Zhang family lunch. It's the one event Caishen cannot escape." Rongyan reminded him.

Du Fuzi looked at the name plates of the expected guests and shook his head. The Zhang family was really something else. "A family lunch with assigned seats is really something."

"They like their traditions." Si Huang Chen said.

After saying it, he also scoffed because some of the Zhang family traditions were baffling to him. It was a family lunch and yet different families sat in different areas, with Caishen's family taking up the central position.

Giggling by himself, Rongyan had a funny thought and he decided to share it with his friends. He looked around and said, "They should have been named Long not Zhang."

Long was a name which meant dragon and through history, emperors were often called dragons or sons of dragons. Royal families had rigid traditions just as the Zhang's did and that was why Rongyan was making that silly joke.

They all thought that it was a miracle that Caishen was not an entitled, spoiled or arrogant man with a prince like personality given the structure of his family. His brother Zhang Bo was reserved but he did not hide the fact that his family had money. It was obvious in the way he dressed, walked, and talked.

Zhang An, their sister, on the other hand was a spoiled princess. The three siblings were not very bad overall, given their family's wealth and status.

They had some cousins who behaved like rotten royalty however. But at the end of the day, every family had it's black sheep.

Du Fuzi walked around slowly, looking at the different types of wines on the tables.

"Yo, Rongyan, there are ten bottles of Long Dai here." He tsked and gave a look of approval to Si Huang Chen. His family had gone all out, providing all the best things from the decorations, the utensils, cutlery, wine glasses and a string quartet of four artistes waiting to play some pleasant music during the lunch.

Rongyan was the connoisseur of wines in the group so when he heard about the expensive wine, he came rushing over to take a look.

Before he could touch even one, Si Huang Chen held him by the collar of the back of his shirt.

"They are here, I don't need you to mess anything up for me."

He looked around the room, taking in one final looked to assure himself that all was satisfactory and then he nodded. "Everyone who is not relevant should get out." he announced.

He made it a point to look at his friends and widen his eyes. "You, I mean you guys."

"Tch!" Du Fuzi rolled his eyes and turned around to leave without a moment's delay.

Rongyan followed him as well mumbling something about ordering for an expensive bottle of wine for himself. The two friends did not go far however, and they sat down by the fountain on this private floor.

"What are we doing?" Rongyan asked Du Fuzi.

"We are waiting to see the order in which they make their entrance and also freak Caishen out." Fuzi answered.

As he was finishing up his answer, a team of six bodyguards came through first and disappeared into the dining room. They were closely followed by the Zhang elders, walking slowly and taking their time.

Behind them, Zhang Bo, Zhang Xiaobo and Zhang Caishen followed.

Caishen was surprised to see his friends sitting by the water fountain and he frowned. He was very confused on seeing them there. They waved at him and smiled so abundantly. He smiled stiffly and waved back at them.

Behind the brothers, Yura, Alix and Zhang Le followed. Yura had a neutral look on her face. She was used to the way things in the family worked.

Zhang An was pissed, she hated walking with Alix. It was if they had been ranked at the same level and they were not. She was a mighty Zhang and Alix was a lowly Lin.

Alix, the lowly Lin did not even care about hierarchy. She was too busy experiencing cultural shock for the first time in her life. Even though she had not left her country for a foreign land. The Zhang family was apparently foreign land.

In what century were they living? The way things worked at home was not the way they worked when they interacted with other relatives apparently. They had to be colder, less talkative and more reserved while being approachable at the same time.

Zhang Bo had even given her a list of relatives not to make casual talk with. Caishen had told her that their family traditions were one of the things that kept their family strong and successful. But she was like a fish out of water and she was still processing this side of the way the family worked.

It was not impossible for her to assimilate however because at the end of the day, this family was a bit complicated but they were still golden compared to the Lin's, her true family.
