The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 143: Fierce uncle
"So what are Licademons?" Alix asked Dark death as they touched down at the edge of a lake.
There were other players there who had already arrived and they were diving into the water. Others were just arriving like her and her teammates.
The paladin pointed her sword forward, chanted something a sharp ray of light burst from it. It hit something somewhere in the lake and whatever it was, it screeched.
"Do you see that thing which is flying back?" Dark death asked her.
Alix squinted as whatever it was was a bit far. The system brought a close up of the image of the creature and Alix gagged. It resembled a small bat but with a large nose, sharp claws and sharp teeth.
"Unpleasant little buggers but one bite of theirs can drain half of your power." Dark death said.
"So what's the plan?" she asked.
Dark death was the one who chose this mission and Alix was all too happy allowing her to take the lead. The paladin was surprisingly quiet, offering no opinions.
The assasin was happy to play leader and she rubbed her hands together before giving them the plan which she had formulated the moment they arrived.
"We should stick together and kill as many of those buggers as we can while locating their leader. I think Hero should focus on locating the leader mostly with her holy light spell while you and I mostly kill Licademons and eliminate as many competitors as we can."
"There are other things in the lake aside from Licademons." The system warned Alix.
Alix, in turn looked at her two partners and repeated the same warning. "We should be careful. Even the dark wizard could have witches and other things down there."
Dark death cozied up to her and said, "Oh, Alix, you are quite sharp. Nice catch our wise guild leader."
Hero was not interested in the theatrics and she said, "Let's go."
"Find the shimmering rocks where the beauty of the lake dwells." The system told Alix.
As always, she was happy to receive it's guidance. Her face lit up like a small sun as happiness multiplied within her. While others swam around blindly, she had a clue where to find what they sought.
She tugged on the arms of her teammates who were ready to dive and told them, "The Licademons, I heard that they like beautiful things. We should search for a place with things that glitter, that's where the leader will be. Or we look for the beauty of the lake. I once took on a fishing task and the old man I helped said something about a beauty in a lake."
"Well, that's better than nothing." Dark death said.
The paladin removed a golden coin from her her pocket and chanted something.
"Tracking spell." the system told her.
"Follow me." Hero told them.
Alix grabbed her flute and Dark death pulled out her daggers. All of them used spells that formed barriers around them for protection, and then, they dived into the water.
In the real world, when Caishen had finished taking his bath and changed into comfortable night trousers, he approached the bed because he wanted to get inside and sleep.
He started by extracting Majesty and Baby that were dozing off. Both cats did not give him a hard time and he took them to the cat bed which someone had prepared in the corner.
Then, he returned and looked at Xiaobo who was very much awake and actively playing his game. A half eaten bag of chips was laying by the pillow between him and Alix.
"Now they are bringing food to the bed." Caishen mumbled.
He looked at Alix and sighed. She was teaching Xiaobo all sorts of habits, undoing what his mother had taught her grandson.
He tapped Xiaobo on the leg.
"Not now." Xiaobo answered instantly. He did not even look up to see who was tapping him.
Caishen then moved his wheelchair forward and pulled the earphone out of Xiaobo's ears. He also pulled the tab out of his hands.
"Ooh, dad, give it back." Xiaobo cried out.
As soon as he noticed that it was his uncle and not his father, he folded his lips. A nervous smile formed on his face and scratched his neck.
"Uncle," he said while looking to the side at Alix and hoping that she would notice the danger they were in.
"What is the time?" Caishen asked him.
Xiaobo shook his head and looked down at the bed with guilt in his eyes. It was probably late, he thought. When they came to the bedroom, it was already dark outside.
He raised his head and looked at Caishen with innocence in his eyes. Gone was the guilty look all of a sudden. "Uncle, aunt said that we can game all night because it's a national holiday and we are on a break."
His excuse did not work because Caishen continued staring at him with that unreadable look on his face. It made Xiaobo squirm and the boy suddenly wanted to sleep and cover his entire body with the covers just to avoid his uncle's fierce face.
"How many times have you yawned so far?" Caishen asked him.
Slowly, Xiaobo raised two fingers reluctantly and then folded his hands quickly.
"Hand over the bag of chips." Caishen ordered him.
Xiaobo picked it up and obediently handed it over.
"Cover your head and go to sleep." Caishen told him as he wheeled himself away from the left side of the bed.
He dumped the bag of chips on the table and came around to his side of the bed. It was not his intention to stop Alix from playing her game. She would simply sneak away after he slept off and continue. But, Xiaobo who was stuck with them for the night would not be able to sleep with her playing her game.
But why would Xiaobo sleep here in the first place, Caishen asked himself. He had an entire big bedroom to himself on the second floor of the house. He was also too old to be sharing a bed with his parents, not that they were his parents, which in fact made this all the more weird to him. For all their sakes, Caishen decided to send his nephew away.
"Xiaobo." he called.
The boy who had just covered his head slowly revealed it like a turtle coming out of it's shell and replied, "Mmmm."
"Go to your bedroom."

Xiaobo jumped out of the bed eagerly, wore his slippers and raced out of the room as if Caishen was pursuing him with a stick.
Caishen slowly helped himself out of the wheelchair and got into the bed on his side. He turned his head over to see what game Alix was enthralled with and slowly, fell asleep, watching her battle some very weird looking gigantic bat.
