The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 223: Ripe red apple.
Three hours later, Alix and Caishen were home and she could finally ask him what she had been dying to know for a while.
He had gone to his private study to work and she followed him inside.
"Hubby, now that we are alone, you can finally tell me what you think about my friends."
He switched on his devices first, a laptop and the larger computer monitor screen on his desk. As if that was not enough, he also switched on the smaller tablet and placed it on his desk alongside his phone.
Then he bent down, opened one of the desk drawers and took out two large papers that he spread out.
Her nosy self drew closer to his side and she looked at them.
Building plan for Great Tai complex, 338 m.
"It's going to be this tall!" She exclaimed.
"Your grandfather wants something magnificent and he wants it and I am quoting his words directly, "To be finished before you give him his first great granddaughter." He looked at her curiously.
The elder of the Tai family had said it to him in a very uhm...demanding sort of tone. It was almost as if Caishen and Alix owed him a female greatgrandchild.
She on the other hand was momentarily distracted by his large hands that were palming the paper as he talked. A silly smile formed on her face.
"Are you spacing out again?" He shook her, holding on to her waist.
In a high pitched voice, Alix denied it. "No."
He didn't believe that very obvious lie and he shook his head. If someone had a talent for spacing out during a conversation, it was Alix. Some people could sleep anywhere at anytime, Alix could space out anywhere at anytime.
"So, a great granddaughter, huh! Are we having a baby already?" He smiled. His smile was teasing her.
She shook her head and waved her hands from side to side. "No, grandfather did not discuss it with me. What's with the elders and wanting great grandchildren? First your grandmother and now my grandfather.
Is that all humans live for when they age? To see the next generation."
His mind travelled to Wang Yong and how his grandfather had so easily erased the sin he committed just because he was another grandchild, blood of the Zhang family. Caishen was only remaining quiet because there was no concrete proof of guilt. If he got his hands on it.....then they would decide. Whether his grandfather wanted or not, he would have his revenge.
Whether the revenge was Wang Yong going to prison or experiencing a few years of his life in a wheelchair too, Caishen had not yet decided.
"Anyway, what do you think of my friends? Do you like them?"
"Is it important to you that I like them?" He pulled her down carefully and sat her on his lap.
Without second thought she wrapped both of her hands around his neck.
She nodded and replied. "They are my closest friends in the world. More like sisters and you are my hubby. I would like it if you all got along perfectly. If that can't happen at least you should be cordial."
The fingers of his right hand that was holding her waist started tapping slowly as he wrote down a review of her friends in his mind, garnered from his observation.
"Jin Kang is easy."
She furrowed her brows. What did he mean precisely?
"She is easy to please." He finished his first review and added, "She does talk a lot though, like you. I can see why you are friends with her."
Alix was inclined to agree with that assessment of Jin Kang. It helped that Caishen gave her a brand name bag as a gift. She was safely secured in his corner permanently.
"Holea..., she is a difficult one. I don't think she is impressed with me. Even the bag didn't help. In fact I think I made her dislike me more when I gave it to her." He recalled the look of displeasure in her eyes as she accepted the bag.
When Alix looked at her, she had smiled though, just a little bit as if she was being forced.
"Maybe she thinks I am trying to buy her approval." He suggested.
"She will come around." Alix drew his head to her chest. One of her hands moved downwards and she patted his upper back gently.
Holea was just being protective. She didn't have any personal grudges against Caishen.
"Hubby I have been thinking about the situation with your family." Suddenly, she introduced a topic that was on the table for discussion. "I believe that mother-in-law is at a disadvantage. That Na Na won't let your father out of her sight and he has no memories of mother.
The best way to even the playing field is to help your father regain his lost memories. If he can remember the past, then he can make the decision on which woman he wants to stay with."
Caishen didn't want to think of his family problems at that moment. When he came home, they had to be left at the door. "Tomorrow, let's talk about it tomorrow."
He took a deep breath and nuzzled his nose against her throat. He moved it back and fourth slowly before nibbling gently on her skin.
She folded her head a bit inward and giggled.
"That tickles."
He replicated one of those moves he had seen in a few movies, the sniff kiss. Deeply, he inhaled the scent of her body.
This scent, he decided there and then should only be unique to her. When he found time, he would remind her not to share what she was using with Chan Ki. It was her personal concoction after all.
"Really, it tickles." she pushed his stubborn head away. Her neck, waist and the back of her knee, those were the ticklish parts of her body. Caishen seemed to enjoy going for them every chance that he got.
He raised his head and rested his chin on her shoulder. Looking up at her, he said. "Your laughter is not what I am going for."
He was trying to start something, to light a fire within her. It's all he had been thinking of during the day, ever since he saw blushing red like a ripe red apple. The desire to kiss her had been coming and going through the day.
He looked at her lips which were pink like peaches. The desire to steal a kiss from her grew stronger within him.
"I want..." he said.
His voice was soft and whispery, still rough as it had been during the day.
"I want to kiss you. Can I?" he asked.
Alix shuddered and a shy smile came over her face. "Don't ask." she replied.

She lowered her head and stared at him, waiting for his lazy head that was leaning on her shoulder to cover the rest of the distance.
He licked his bottom lip and smiled. That red blush he had been searching for had washed over her face. It set in the moment he asked for a kiss. His eyes roamed her face, taking in her lovely shy appearance, the neediness in her eyes and her slightly parted lips that were asking for his kiss.
He inclined forward and covered the small distance between their mouths.
