It was director Ban's assistant knocking at the door and he led her to a mid sized conference room which was to be used for the auditions.

In there, Alix found director Ban and two other people.

"Miss Lin." Director Ban waved her over with a big smile on his face.

Alix walked toward him, and sat in the chair next to his at the edge of a table. In front of that seat was a bottle of water and a small platter of mixed fruits.

That was her assumption because it was closed while the other three at the table had open ones.

"This is the executive producer for the movie Han Zolo and my assistant director Cha Mei-Hui."

Alix greeted the two men and she sat down.

"Have you had lunch yet?" Director Ban asked her.

She shook her head, no, she had not. She had been too busy playing her game to eat something.

A random thought crossed her mind that maybe she should have eaten in the gaming world. She did get those fruits from there once and they were edible.

"I was not sure but I asked hotel staff to prepare some water and fruits. If you won't eat it my assistant will give it someone on the film crew later on." He told her.

"I will eat." Alix told him.

The smile on his face widened, and he nodded eagerly for no reason.

"I listened to the final draft of the song you sent me and I think it's awesome. They think the same thing as well." He pointed to the other two men at the table and they all nodded.

"It was wonderful." Han Zolo said.

"Truly a work of art. We are surely getting all the best music score awards for this one." Cha Mei-Hui added.

Director Ban looked at the other with pride in his eyes as if he was the composer of the song.

"Was that you singing in the background?" He asked her.

Alix laughed and nodded. She had recorded herself singing the lyrics added to her composition using her phone.

"Should we be auditioning for a singer if we have you?" Han Zolo joked.

They all laughed, Alix inclusive. She was no great singer, just an ordinary one.

"Stop teasing me Mr. Han." Alix replied playfully.

She opened the fruit platter and set her eyes on a different assortment of fruits, wondering where she would begin.

"Alright, let's get down to serious business. I selected fifteen singers and sent requests to their management.

Twelve are here to audition today. We will not wait for the other three to show up because the movie is entering its final days of shooting and time is not our friend." Director Ban handed Alix a paper with the names of the different singers.

"Feel free to cross out the names of those who don't impress you. We will make a few notes as well and give you our opinions but just as we agreed, the final decision is up to you."

After coming to a few more agreements on how to conduct the audition, director Ban's assistant stepped out to call in the first singer.

Outside of this conference room, those who had come for the audition varied. Two were A list singers, experts that were sure they would be chosen.

A few were B list singers, confident but also unsure because A list singers were here. Others were C list and the last D list singers who had little hope after seeing the experts.

Some were here due to connections and a few believed they had an edge over the others.

Most of them were keeping to each other while side eyeing their competition.

Two female singers were standing by a vending machine a short distance away from the doors and whispering.

"Chi Li, is it true that miss Lin is the composer for the movie?" One asked the other.

The one called Chi Li nodded and smiled confidently.

She was a B list singer from light entertainment, the company owned by Caishen's mother. She was also a good friend to Lin Billi.

Chi Li whose stage name pronouncement was similar to that of Chilli pepper nodded and took a small sip of water from a transparent disposable cup.

"Are you doubting me So Mi?" She asked the other.

So Mi shook her head, yelling Chi Li that she was not doubting her.

"I heard it from the president's assistant that miss Lin is the composer and song writer for the movie. She has the final say on who gets to sing the song.

With the exception of my friend Lin Billi who else could they be referring to? She is the only miss Lin in our company." Chi Li assured So MI.

So Mi sighed and her head drooped. Lin Billi and Chi Li were close personal friends. In fact, yesterday Chi Li had gifted Lin Billi an expensive bracelet. If anybody was going to pass this audition, it was Chi Li.

The rest of them were simply here to put on a show of fair auditions.

The doors to the audition room opened and director Ban's assistant stepped out.

"We are going to begin the first and only round of auditions, please stick around so that you do not miss out when your name is called.

Whoever is picked will be told right away or before the day ends and they will also sign a contract immediately. We will be going in order from A listers to D listers, please be understanding."

There was a hierarchy, everyone here knew it and they had to adhere to it.

"Chan Ki." He read.

A tall beautiful woman with dazzling long curled hair held up in a ponytail stood up and went inside.

Those who were left outside groaned. What chance did they stand if the director listened to the A listers first?
