The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 74: Call me wife.
"Hubby Zhang."
Caishen was trying to work but every minute or so, Alix interrupted him calling him for this or that. He had stopped looking at her when he responded, keeping his eyes on his work.
"What?" he responded in a dull voice.
"I am hungry." she said.
Caishen was loudly typing something on his laptop. He was using a lot of force and speed that she could hear every little tap he made.
He stopped and looked at her. "Didn't you have lunch?"
She shook her head and pouted.
"Make your mouth normal." he told her.
Alix replaced the pout with a wide smile.
"Biming are there any decent restaurants along our route?" he asked.
"I will look up all the three to five star restaurants within our vicinity CEO." Biming answered.
He did not have to look them up in fact, he had a list compiled by Caishen's secretaries of all the best restaurants in the city.
"There is a branch of Queens palate thirty minutes away, 18 drinks and sushi restaurant is forty minutes away and Little Chimmei sea food is one hour away." Biming read from the list.
"Go to Queens palate." Caishen ordered.
"I just want some hotpot." Alix blurted. "Look, that sign says Dajing hotpot restaurant."
She was not looking for any star restaurant, even street food was good enough for her. All she wanted to do was put something warm in her belly.
"It says Dajing hot point restaurant not hotpot." Caishen said.
"It doesn't it says hotpot." Alix insisted.
She blinked about three times and she took a closer look at the name of the restaurant on it's sign board. Caishen was right, indeed, it was hot point not hot pot.
Her mind had been filled with images of food that she read the word incorrectly.
"Oh." she said in a soft disappointed voice.
To Caishen, she sounded sad and let down. He looked at the back of her head curiously as she was still facing the restaurant. Was she really hungry? he asked himself.
"Stop the car." he told the driver.
The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.
Alix looked away from the sign board of the restaurant and she looked at Caishen. A beautiful smile formed on her face.
"Hubby, are we really stopping here to eat?"
Caishen remained silent, a part of him refraining from the desire to rebuke her. Why else would they be stopping at a restaurant if not to eat?
"Are you getting out of the car or not?" he asked her.
She squealed and rushed out of the car, leaving behind her bag and everything. Not rushing into the restaurant, she stood by the car and waited for him to come around.
Her eyes did not leave the ancient building of Dajing hot point however. She could smell some scents from whatever it was they sold, It smelled amazing.
"Your feet look restless." Caishen told her.
Alix, even though she was waiting for him had taken a few steps forwards as she waited.
"Oh," she answered. "I didn't notice that I had moved. I guess my stomach is doing all the thinking for me." she told him.
They went forward slowly and Biming opened the red doors leading inside the building for them.
The smell of amazing food intensified, making Alix's stomach roar in a thunderous rage. To her, it sounded like her intestines were saying, "foooood."
"Your imagination is fascinating." The system told her. What kind of human pictured their intestines speaking?
"I bet you are having all kinds of fun in my mind." she replied.
"You have no idea just how much." It replied.
"Welcome to Dajing." a receptionist told them. "Would you prefer a private room or public dining area?"
"Private."
"Public."
Both Alix and Caishen responded at the same time. He wanted a private room while she wanted a public place.
Alix thought things through however and decided to go with what he desired. She had got him to stop the car, abandon his work and come to a zero restaurant. That was enough sacrifice from him for the day.
"Private." she changed her words.
The receptionist called for a waitress that came over quickly and led them to a private room.
"I will excuse myself now." Biming said.
He and Caishen had already eaten lunch, moreover he did not feel like being a third wheel here.
Three people were left inside, Caishen, Alix and the waitress.
"Do you serve hotpot?" Caishen asked her.
The waitress shook her head.
"No, what we serve is all available on the menu sir."
Caishen looked at Alix and raised both of his eyebrows. What was the plan now since she could not have the hotpot she desired?
"Do I smell sweet and sour pork?" Alix asked the waitress. All those points she was spending on becoming the perfect human specimen were paying off.
She could distinguish between the smells of most of the foods.
"Yes, it's one of our highest sellers." The waitress answered politely with a big smile.
"Give me a plate of sweet and sour pork, a plate of fried rice, and some pao cai."
Caishen's nose wrinkled when she asked for pao cai.
"Hubby Zhang, do you want anything to eat?" she asked him.
Caishen shook his head.
"I have already eaten." he told her.
"What about water?" Alix asked him.
"Bottled." he said.
"And some plain light porridge, a very small bowl." Alix added.
It was for him because he smelled slightly like alcohol.
Had he gone drinking with Biming?
The waitress left and Alix smiled at Caishen. She placed both arms on the table and leaned forward. Then she tilted her head from side to side, simply staring at him with that mysterious smile on her face.
"Stop staring at me." Caishen told her.
"I can't help it, I have the cutest hubby in the whole world. I must be the luckiest woman to have married you." she replied.
"Staring is rude miss Lin." he told her.
"Tch, hubby Zhang, you can call me wife you know. Try it once, hmm, call me darling wife." She tried to look adorable and said the word wife, sonorously.
He cleared his throat and smirked. Dam it, he thought, she actually sort of looks cute when she acts like this. But he would not give her the satisfaction of having this knowledge.
Caishen leaned forward, opened his mouth and said, "You sound like a meowing cat and not the cute one like baby."
Alix folded her lips and arms. That silly cat which had stolen his heart before she could was here even when it was not present.
"Hubby Zhang, should I adopt a dog? I am sure that dumb cat will love a playmate?"
Caishen smiled and asked her. "Are you threatening my innocent cat?"
