"What? So you can be here but I can't?" Alix responded.

She had been expecting Lin Billi because madam Qian had mentioned it. Apparently it was not the same for Lin Billi because she was obviously surprised to see her.

Had madam Qian forgotten to mention this detail to Billi deliberately or it simply skipped her mind?

Alix had a smug look on her face, daring Billi to say more so that she could blast her even more.

"You can't be here." Billi blurted out.

Alix sneered and scoffed. "Why? Does your father own this gallery?" she responded with sarcasm heavy in her voice.

Billi raised her right hand and pointed her index finger at Alix. Was Alix crazy? She was speaking as if they had different fathers.

Alix stepped aside and smiled coquettishly at Lin Billi.

"It looks like the cat has got your tongue. In that case, bye-bye." she waved with her left hand, folding her fingers to show Lin Billi that they were functioning quite normally now.

"Y....you..." Lin Billi screamed and failed to express herself so she stomped her foot.

She had to call her mother and find out what that sly bitch Alix had been to.

Alix was in a good mood when she walked to the center and patiently stood by madam Qian's side, waiting for her name to be called so that she could go up and perform.

Madam Qian's husband, the Ko in Ko-Qian was addressing the room and he had everyone laughing.

Alix looked at madam Qian and realized that the woman was watching her husband with what she could only describe as a smitten look in her eyes. No wonder she wanted to give that man a child. She was in love with him deeply.

"For tonight's special entertainment, we are happy to invite a great classical composition performer who may be new to your eyes and ears but will be memorable for the rest of your lives, the songbird, miss Lin."

It was polite for the guests to applaud and so they did.

Most of them thought Lin Billi would be the one to perform. She was the only classical composition genius named miss Lin that they knew of.

Those whose ears were keen however read more into the 'new to your eyes and ears part.' They were one hundred percent certain that it was not the miss Lin they knew.

Alix took a deep breath and stepped forward with her right foot but then she was forced to stop because someone else stepped forward

.

Lin Billi, to the ever great shock of Alix and madam Qian went to the center where the performer was always arranged to sit and she looked at the guests with a smile.

As always, she was dressed beautifully in a white and black gown. The bottom was lace with red rose floral patterns.

It was a low cut dress, and the diamond necklace around her neck drew attention to her pumped breasts. She had really dressed to attract attention from everyone.

"Hello everyone, I have prepared something new for you tonight."

"What is she doing?" A stunned madam Qian asked Alix?

"Preparing to perform, apparently." Alix told her.

Was Lin Billi a fool? She was a piano player and there no piano prepared. There was a cello and one chair, nothing to indicate that a piano would be played.

Just as Alix was thinking about it, Billi came to the same realization.

She looked at the cello and then looked around.

Madam Qian stepped forward and grabbed Billi's shoulders.

"Ha-ha, the young miss Lin here is playing a joke. She is here to introduce her sister, the older miss Lin, Lin Alix."

Lin Billi paled for a few seconds and then she faked a smile when she noticed how many eyes were on her and whispering.

"Yes," she gulped and forced to herself.

"Now this has got to embarrassing for her." the system elf said with a chuckle.

Alix chuckled silently as well. "She must be boiling with rage."

An applause came from Caishen's table and others quickly followed, albeit quite awkwardly.

Alix stepped forward, walking much more elegantly than Billi had done and she curtsied before the guests.

Madam Qian shuffled Billi away as Aix sat down.

"Madam, what is going on?" she asked Madam Qian.

"You were invited as a guest not a performer. Why would you go up there without consulting me first? If I wanted you to perform I would have said something."

Billi clenched her jaw and her fists as fury boiled within her body. In her mind, she figured that madam Qian and Alix had deliberately plotted against her.

Why else would none of them mention the fact that Alix would be the one performing?

How could that bitch with her crooked fingers be able to play? Billi hoped that Alix would make a fool of herself and the humiliation would end her career before it took off.

Also, when did she start playing cello? Billi recalled the past when Alix played the piano. She recalled how their father had started to show attention to Alix because of it.

If she had not broken her fingers, all the glory she had would belong to Alix now.

Billi's heart pounded as the long gone fear which used to live in her heart returned with a vengeance. "No, I will not let her succeed. I must find a way to sabotage her. She cannot steal the limelight again from me."

With every note that Alix played, Billi felt herself tremble and sweat as if she had a fever. She needed to leave and figure out a plan.

"Excuse me." she said.

But when she looked at madam Qian, her attention was fully held by Alix, just like everyone else in the room.

They had all been bewitched and captivated by Alix, just as it had always been in the past.

Billi held up her gown slightly, turned around and escaped the gallery.

Nobody noticed that she was gone, everyone was indeed coming to a realization that the older miss Lin would be remembered after this night.

If this was her debut into the world of music, it was a successful one and all the rich people here would willingly endorse her.

Alix finished playing, set the cello aside and bowed.

It took a few seconds for her audience to return to earth as they had been lost in their own imaginations.

Most of them wondered what they had just listened to and how they could listen to it again.

"Can we ask for an encore?" Du Fuzi asked Caishen.

Caishen laughed and replied smugly, "You can't, but I can."
