The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 83: His good eater
Alix returned to her seat amidst admiring gazes and looks of appreciation. Beyond that was surprise as it was unexpected that Zhang Caishen's unknown wife was such a gifted cello player.
Ko Yan, madam Qian's husband went up to the front again and invited everyone to enjoy the dinner which had been prepared for the guests.
While waiters rotated around, Chan Ki, the singer Alix rejected was invited to sing for the guests.
Alix was particularly famished and willing to eat. In fact, if anybody asked her at that moment, she would tell them that she could eat an entire horse.
All day, she had eaten simple snacks but not real food. And even now, at the event, she would not be able to eat to her satisfaction.
The portions of food that were served were very minimal.
Caishen noticed the way she was looking at her plate with disappointed eyes and whispered to her.
"Do you want mine?"
Alix shook her head. She did not want to be seen as a glutton by his friends. But these portions made her wonder if these rich people had small stomachs or they were just maintaining their images.
"Every year these portions get smaller." Du Fuzi complained.
Alix raised her head and smiled. There was someone who understood her here at least.
"Or you are just a glutton. The portions are the same Fuzi." Si Huang Chen responded.
His family's hotel catered the Ko-Qian benefit and they provided the best food with top notch ingredients. You did not expect to eat the best food as if it was ordinary fries and deep fired chicken sold in any fast food restaurant.
"Sister-in-law, what do you think about the portions?" he asked Alix.
She smiled and nodded, "It's just the right amount."
Caishen snorted chuckled. He had seen this woman inhale ten plates of this size put together. How was this enough for her? It qualified to be her appetizer and not her main meal. His wife was a very good eater with a very healthy appetite.
She slowly reached out her hand and pinched his waist for reacting like that. Was he trying to give her up?
Caishen winced and tilted his body away from her hand.
"What are you two doing?" Biming asked them.
"Nothing." they both replied and smiled.
Alix stabbed a fork into one of the three shrimps on her plate. When it entered her mouth, she moaned loudly and everyone looked at her.
Very embarrassed, Alix felt like hiding under the table. That is if she could take the shrimp with her.
She covered her mouth and said, "So good."
"It's our exclusive honey walnut shrimp." Si Huang Cheng boasted.
He was very proud of the recipe because he had researched the dish and he was glad to see someone appreciate it. She was not like his friends who simply nodded and gave random comments.
"Do you want more?" he picked up his plate and lifted it, handing it to Biming to send it to her.
When Alix touched it, Caishen pulled it from her and exchanged it with his own plate.
He looked at Huang Chen with a glare.
"I can feed my wife."
Alix blushed while a round of "oouh's" went around.
Rongyan was the most amused and he said, "We are just here to eat your dog food aren't we?"
"You can also get a wife." Caishen retorted.
Another round of "oouh's" and laughter followed.
It made Alix equate this group of friends to a couple of youthful boys. They sure liked to tease each other.
"Sister-in-law, where did you learn to play like that?" Du Fuzi asked her.
"Self-taught." Alix replied.
All of them were pretty much surprised. How could she be self taught? The expertise with which she played was the type which took years to master.
"Did you start learning how to play from the womb?" Rongyan blurted out.
Fuzi looked around to make sure that their parents who were somewhere in the room did not see his silly actions. With no one watching, he slapped Rongyan on the head.
"How are you a doctor when you are so foolish?" he asked him.
"Du Fuzi." Rongyan said through gritted teeth.
"He is the silly one among us." Biming pointed to Rongyan and said.
Alix smiled and she watched the witty banter between the group of friends but her attention was mostly on the food.
"Slow down." Caishen whispered to her.
She nodded and wiped her lips. Her plate was already empty, she had finished everything.
Caishen called a waiter over and the plates were take away. A glass of wine was placed in front of Alix.
She shook her head and rejected it.
"You don't like the wine?" Caishen asked her.
Someone tapped her on the shoulder before she could explain to him that she was a light drinker and anything more than one glass of wine usually lead to disaster.
"Brother Sun." she said happily.

She and Tai Ho Sun had been communicating slowly. It was because he was making the effort to get closer to her. Grandpa Tai as well, although he mostly sent her pictures of flowers since she mentioned that she liked flowers.
"Ho, my little sister. Why didn't you tell me that you were coming for the benefit. I could have picked you up personally."
"I already have a husband to accompany me." she told him.
She turned her head to Caishen and said, "Brother Sun, this is my husband Caishen."
Caishen had a neutral look on his face as he wondered where this "brother" had come from. Lin Qianfan had no sons that he aware of.
"Greetings CEO Zhang, I an Tai Ho Sun. I am a manager of TFK jewelry."
Ever the business man, Ho Sun handed over a business card.
Caishen looked it over and kept it in his pocket.
In a neutral voice, he said, "You are chairman Tai Heng's third son."
Ho Sun nodded.
He looked at Alix and said, "Grandfather sent me to find you. He wanted to come over personally but father stopped him because he might insist on sitting at your table. Will you come over and greet him briefly?"
"Yes, of course." she agreed.
She liked grandpa Sun, he was a sweet old man who was unnecessarily kind to her. In fact, he had sent her a red packet which she had forgotten about.
"Hubby Zhang, I will be right back."
She stood up and walked away with Tai Ho sun. She was all smiles but the man she was leaving behind was not.
"Where did this brother come from?" Rongyan asked.
Du Fuzi chuckled and said, "Who cares, I am more interested in hubby Zhang. Wow, young master Zhang, you have been keeping a lot from us, haven't you?"
