Third Life Reincarnation: Finally Born Into a Magical World-Chapter 51: Battle against the Elites of Wolf Sky Mercenaries (Part-1)
Ryan had just left Forest of Death, Xiao Hei trotting faithfully behind him.
He was racing back to Fengyue City, intent on returning to the Li Clan before the Western Mansion’s qualification test began.
But the moment he stepped onto the Yangsha Ancient Road, A group of black-clad figures blocked his path.
And without a word, they stopped him.
"Who are you people?"
Ryan halted and looked at the group of black-clad figures blocking the ancient road, his expression calm but curious. For a moment, he even wondered if he had run into bandits.
The thought amused him.
Robbers?
What kind of blind robbers would dare to block his path?
Before Ryan could activate his Sky Eye Technique to check their levels, a man stepped out from the group. He raised his hand and pulled down his mask, revealing a scarred face that Ryan instantly recognized.
"Li Wei, do you remember me?" the man asked with a thin, cold smile.
It was Chang Bo.
"It’s you." Ryan’s brows lifted slightly in surprise.
His gaze swept past Chang Bo to the black-clad figures behind him. Their formation, their aura, the way they stood like hunters waiting patiently for prey made the situation clear at once.
"So, I guess you’ve been waiting here for me?"
"Yes," Chang Bo replied, nodding slowly. His eyes gleamed with cruel satisfaction, as if Ryan were already trapped in a cage. "Specifically for you."
Ryan gave a soft "oh," his tone flat, almost indifferent.
That single sound made Chang Bo frown.
In just a few breaths, Ryan had already pieced everything together. Chang Bo had survived, reported back, and the Wolf Sky Mercenary Corps had dug up his background. They knew who he was, where he came from, and that he would return along this road after his training.
He had expected retaliation the moment Chang Bo escaped.
What he hadn’t expected was this scale.
Still, Ryan felt no fear.
Strength was his greatest confidence. With the God of War System, with his explosive growth, it didn’t matter how many enemies came. As long as he stood strong enough, no number mattered.
His Sky Eye Technique was activated, and immediately, information flooded in.
Exalts.
All of them.
And among them... There is even an Upper Exalt.
Ryan’s eyes paused briefly on one figure.
Song Fengxi.
A genuine Upper Exalt.
That made Ryan slightly surprised. For someone like him, the Wolf Sky Mercenary Corps had dispatched such top elites.
If this had happened half a month ago, Ryan would have turned around and fled without hesitation.
But now?
After days of slaughter in the Forest of Death, after martial arts refined to full mastery, after killing fifth-rank monsters as if they were prey...
This lineup no longer inspired fear.
Instead, it stirred a faint sense of anticipation.
Chang Bo noticed Ryan’s calm reaction and felt unsettled. He sneered, trying to regain control of the situation.
"Oh? You already know we’re here for you, yet you’re not afraid at all? Do you think you can still escape from us this time?"
"Escape?" Ryan smiled faintly, his gaze dismissive. "Afraid of what? Afraid of you, a mere Elite like you? I don’t need to run at all."
Chang Bo’s expression darkened.
"Hmph!" He snorted coldly. "You’re still this arrogant. Don’t think we came all this way with just me. The Wolf Sky Mercenary Corps isn’t something you can provoke."
His voice grew sharper, filled with malicious delight.
"I’ll be honest with you. I’m only here to identify you. The real force is behind me. Every one of them is an Exalt. And our leader..."
He stepped aside slightly, revealing Song Fengxi.
"He is an Upper Exalt Warrior. Li Wei, no matter how talented you are, today you won’t escape our grasp." Chang Bo laughed, already savoring Ryan’s imagined fate.
Song Fengxi stepped forward, his presence pressing down like a mountain. "Li Wei," he then said calmly, "if you surrender now and come with me obediently, I can promise you won’t die too painfully."
"Oh."
Ryan answered with the same flat tone as before.
This time, both Chang Bo and Song Fengxi frowned.
Such indifference made no sense.
Was he frightened into stupidity?
Song Fengxi narrowed his eyes and studied Ryan more carefully. With an Upper Exalt’s perception, he quickly saw through Ryan’s aura, and his pupils shrank slightly.
"An Exalt?"
Sixteen years old... and already an Exalt?
Even Song Fengxi had to admit it.
This was monstrous talent.
A true peerless genius.
If allowed to grow, Ryan would undoubtedly become a terrifying figure in the future.
What a pity.
Song Fengxi shook his head inwardly.
Too bad this genius had offended the Wolf Sky Mercenary Corps.
"Li Wei," Song Fengxi said slowly, "even if you are an Exalt, it changes nothing. We outnumber you, and I’m already a realm above you. Follow me quietly, and you might avoid unnecessary suffering."
Ryan’s eyes suddenly sharpened.
"You can see that I’m an Exalt? Not bad, you’ve got some eyesight." He paused, then his voice turned cold. "But making me suffer?"
A hint of disdain curled at the corner of his lips. "You think far too highly of yourself."
"You—!" Song Fengxi’s expression stiffened.
Chang Bo, on the other hand, sneered openly. "Arrogant brat. You’re already standing on the edge of death and still talking big. Lord Feng, there’s no need to waste words with him. Since he wants to die, let’s fulfill his wish."
Song Fengxi raised a hand slightly, stopping Chang Bo, and fixed Ryan with a steady gaze.
"I’ll give you one last chance," he said coldly. "Come with me willingly. I can guarantee your life."
Ryan stood there calmly, Xiao Hei at his feet, his expression unreadable.
The air between them grew heavy.
The battle was inevitable.
Song Fengxi’s true purpose this time had never been simple revenge.
Killing Ryan would indeed vent anger and serve as a warning to others, but that was not the most important thing. What truly stirred Song Fengxi’s heart was Ryan himself.
After the investigation, Ryan was nothing more than the son of a small clan’s patriarch in Fengyue City. His background was shallow. The strongest person in the Li Clan barely reached halfway to Exalt.
And yet Ryan, at sixteen, had already stepped into the realm of Exalt.
That alone was shocking.
More shocking still was the information Song Fengxi had received from multiple channels. Just one month ago, Ryan had been a complete waste, someone who could not cultivate at all.
A month.
From trash to Exalt.
If this information were even half true, then the implications would be terrifying.
It meant that Ryan must have obtained an earth-shaking opportunity. Perhaps a supreme cultivation method. Perhaps even a heaven-defying treasure.
Whatever it was, it was enough to change a person’s fate in an instant.
That was why Song Fengxi didn’t want Ryan dead yet.
He wanted him alive.
Only by tearing apart Ryan’s secrets could the Wolf Sky Mercenary Corps truly profit.
That was why Song Fengxi had wasted words earlier. It was why he had offered Ryan a chance to surrender.
However, Ryan clearly had no intention of cooperating.
"If you want to fight, then fight," Ryan said coldly. "Spare me the nonsense."
Song Fengxi’s face darkened. "You’re asking for it."
His patience finally snapped. He raised his hand and pointed at three silver-robed warriors beside him.
"You, you, and you," Song Fengxi commanded coldly. "Capture him. Alive."
"Yes!"
The three silver-robed warriors stepped forward at once, weapons drawn, murderous intent surging.
Three Exalts moving together, facing against a single Exalt.
