Priya raised a D Class staff into the air, Godsfall gathering around her in a torrent. The swirling masses formed bullets of crimson energy that pelted into the surroundings, each one coming so easily, and so powerfully, that the Turned were being mowed down as though she was sweeping a machine gun from side to side.

Honestly, Priya didn't like the staff very much. It made her feel a bit… useless.

In her opinion, it made things almost too easy, and she lost a bit of the subtlety that made her control such a great strength. But by the same measure, it was hard to output this sort of speed and power normally.

The staff handled all of the Godsfall formation for her, and she only had to focus on what she did best…

Accumulating Godsfall.

Zarek hadn't said anything when she took up the staff, but Priya didn't need his input to know it just didn't feel right. What would happen when she faced off against an enemy that could too easily deal with the attacks this treasure formed?

Unfortunately, she didn't have the luxury of being so picky right now, not when there was wave after wave of enemies coming down.

It had been like this all day. She was quite sure that they had done this on purpose.

For whatever reason, their enemies feared her boyfriend a great deal more than any one of them. Sometimes that meant they would target him all the more, and in times like this one… they avoided him like a plague.

"Another D Class! Cover me!" Zade called out.

Priya nodded, her sweeping Godsfall bullets concentrating down the lane Zade needed to cut through. She had sensed the Turned before Zade had, so she had already been readying for this moment.

A slight heat came from her staff, making her palms a bit uncomfortable.

'It's overheating again.'

Priya reacted smoothly, releasing a hand from the staff and holding it up with just one. The amount of bullets forming lessened as she raised her free hand up.

Large amounts of Godsfall pooled into her hand to the point her arm itself even began to glow red.

Pa.

She sent out a pulse of Godsfall. It was much less concentrated and controlled than the bullets, but it had much more Godsfall attached to it.

The one thing that Zarek had been insistent on was that she wouldn't take on any Skills he didn't approve of first. That meant that all of the Godsfall manipulation happening now that wasn't under the steady control of the staff was all formed by Priya herself.

Without knowledge of Skills and how one would usually do this, Priya was actually flying quite blind, but she was steadily growing her own unique methods of moving forward.

'A bit off…'

Her ease in controlling two streams of thought had only improved further after reaching the D Class. And now, even having casual thoughts like that at the same time was no longer a problem for her.

Though she wasn't happy with the pulsing palm, it cleared out a dozen Turned coming from the sides, opening up the rest of the path for Zade and his double blades polearm.

BANG!

The Dexterity Type D Class Turned slashed out with claws as long as short swords, its back arched and its skin oozing with a black stickiness that wafted a foul scent into the air.

Zade skidded back, but he maintained his footing, blocking with the length of his polearm and then preparing a counterattack.

Unlike Priya, Zade wasn't quite a D Class yet, but he did have a couple of D Class stats, which was enough to make him a Quasi D Class Warrior.

Technically speaking, these were just Zarek's standards. To anyone else, the moment you got one D Class stat, you would be considered D Class.

But Zade's strong suit weren't his physical stats, but rather his Intelligence—much like his brother. However, he thought because he was meeting a Dexterity Type, he could take on the attacks head-on.

Priya frowned. She felt the logic was sound too—there was nothing wrong with it so long as Zade could press an advantage, keep it close, and not give it the time to take advantage of its speed.

The road was certainly wide enough to allow it to maneuver, but the problem was that there were too many Turned in the region, mitigating the advantage.

'Something is wrong…' Priya thought.

Alarm bells flared up in Priya's mind and she sent her senses out in a wave. She had been keeping her Godsfall perception in a limited range, not only because she needed to limit the speed with which her Intelligence improved, but also as a method of maintaining her stamina above certain levels.

Certainly, because she could absorb Godsfall continuously, her Endurance benefited. There was a reason her Endurance Growth Potential was also S Class.

But right now, she trusted her instincts, feeling that something was—.

'Found you.'

Priya pulled out a gun from the back of her jeans, pointing out with a cold light in her eyes.

All at once, the Godsfall accumulating to her staff was diverted and she seemed to have forgotten her promise to cover for Zade. Her silvery hair fluttered in the air, their strands falling into a braided length that fell to the small of her back.

BANG!

The gun exploded in her hands, a beam of concentrated light curling through the air. It wrapped across the battlefield, curling just the slightest bit almost like the gorgeous arc of a parabola.

A shadowy figure in the distance couldn't have imagined that it would have been pointed out like this. By the time it knew that the beam of Godsfall was aimed for it, it was already too late, its head exploding into a rain of blood.

Zarek's laughter boomed through the air. He laughed so hard one would have thought he had forgotten he was on a battlefield at all.

"That's my girl. Seems I need to hold up my end of the bargain."
