This Insane Demon Lord wants a normal life-Chapter 26: Summit Arc(11)
The explosion’s aftermath was a scene of utter devastation, the blast’s impact evident in the shattered remains of structures and the debris-strewn landscape.
Craig rolled his eyes, unfazed.
Smoke and flames billowed into the air, casting a dark, ominous pall over the surrounding area, as if the very fabric of reality had been torn apart.
A lopsided grin appeared on his lips.
Ramposa remained in the carriage with Craig, unbothered by what was happening outside, for a second.
She was concerned about Cassie’s condition.
"Master..." She worriedly spoke out.
Craig exhaled a deep sigh.
"Cassie lives, Ramposa.....there’s no need to worry. My demonic beasts are linked to my demonic soul"
"As long as I live, Cassie will always regenerate back to her original form"
Craig said, his gaze were focused on the book he held.
Once he was done reading the content within a page, he went to the next page.
He sat comfortably in the carriage, his legs crossed in a relaxed pose as he became absorbed in the pages of his book.
The words transporting him to another world.
He continued.
"Cassie will be back but it seems this human will be more difficult for her to handle" Craig uttered.
He turned to the next page of the book.
Ramposa’s eyebrows curled up, she was confused.
"Why do you say so? Is that assasin that powerful?" Ramposa asked.
"Well it’s not that he’s too powerful but the path he walks on is different. The genesis of Servant and Tamer is the only genesis with two aspect"
"One can be a Servant or a Beast Tamer"
"This particular assasin is a Servant, Servants are players who sold their soul into a particular relic or artifact"
"That designated relic will awaken an ego, contracting with the player. The player will be free to use the limitless authorities owned by the relic"
"It’s a gamble, a player could sell his soul to a low tier relic, only to receive useless or low tier sub authorities"
"But the relic owned by this assasin is on a different level"
Craig explained.
Ramposa slowly stood up from her seat, she could be seen stretching her muscles as Craig watches.
"Do you know the relic he’s contracted to?" Ramposa asked.
Craig rolled his eyes, he glanced at the side window of the carriage.
"No i don’t, but I happen to be from a world where such weapons exist"
"And i know it capabilities. Don’t underestimate him"
Craig warned.
Ramposa chuckled softly, her claws sprouted out and her antenna grew out of her forehead. Ramposa’s eyes flickered.
"Hmph. Seems the master’s underestimating me, I guess I need to prove myself"
Ramposa giggled.
Without hesitation, Ramposa exited the carriage at lightning speed, blending with the darkness unnoticed.
Craig exhaled a sigh.
"Ramposa. The truth is I’m not underestimating you but I’m overestimating the strength of that assasin"
Craig whispered to himself, his lips barely moving as he read the words on the page, his voice a soft, gentle murmur.
His eyes flickered.
"That assasin may an expert level player but the relic he uses is an S rank relic. A relic once owned by a deity of war"
Craig muttered.
His Authoority: Eyes of Clairvoyance gave him all the informations he needed, but the eyes revealed not a single weakness or countermeasure.
He had to figure them out himself.
He rested his head on his hand, his elbow sinking into the armrest as he leaned forward.
His eyes gazing downward in a pose of introspection and contemplation.
"Will they be able to kill that assasin or must I step in myself?" He questioned.
***
The assasin stood atop the carriage, his black trench coat billowing behind him like a dark cloud.
As he cocked his cowboy hand cannon with a deliberate mechanical motion.
The fervent wind sent debris flying across the scene, his eyes fixed intently on the man inside the carriage.
His gaze cold and calculating, the muzzle of the hand cannon rising steadily to align with its target.
His eyes squinted.
"Hmph. Look at you, aren’t you scared?" He questioned.
Craig rolled his eyes, glaring at the window.
"Scared? Scared of what?" Craig asked.
The assasin scoffed.
"Look at you acting nonchalantly after I blew up your pet beast creature, I thought you would resist a bit"
"Have you given up so fast?" The Assassin questioned.
Craig’s lips curled up into a knowing grin.
His attention remained fixed on his book.
"Mr. Assasin, do you have a code name?" Craig calmly asked.
The assasin’s brows furrowed.
"Sure. I’ll do you the honors of knowing my name, in your next life. Make sure you remember the name of the man who killed you"
The assasin declared,
His finger tightened on the trigger, the pressure building incrementally as his muscles tensed, the hammer quivering on the brink of release.
"The name is Vulture"
The assasin declared.
Craig giggled silently, a smirk spread across his face as he closed the book. His lips curling upward in a subtle, knowing smile.
As if he had uncovered a secret pleasure within its pages.
"Well Mr. Vulture, goodbye"
Craig uttered in a whispering tone.
Vulture’s eyes broadened with a confounded expression evidently written on his face.
The word ’huh’ escaped his lips, a soft, interrogative sound that conveyed confusion, curiosity, or skepticism.
His eyes narrowed, studying the movement of the unfazed Craig.
Just then a sudden, primal sense of awareness washed over him. His instincts screaming warning as he detected the presence of another.
Lurking out of sight.
The presence was like a whispered secret, a hint of danger that only the most attuned might detect, and yet it was unmistakable, a cold dread creeping up his spine.
Beads of sweat trickled down his cheeks, like tiny, glistening tears, as his body responded to the stress and tension.
From the shadows, a figure coalesced, emerging from the darkness like a specter. It’s features indistinct at first, but growing more defined with each passing moment.
Ramposa seemed to materialized out of thin air, her presence sudden and jarring, like a switch had been flipped.
And where there was once nothing, now there was someone.
Vulture’s rolled his eyes.
Glancing at the silhouette of Ramposa. Ramposa was swift, not hesitating in her charging attack.
[Notice......]
[Player Vulture has actives his relic’s sub authority]
[Sub Authority: Foresight is in use.....]
Craig lifted his head.
"Huh? Foresight?" He asked.
The assasin’s heart rate quickened, his mind racing with possibilities. The second he activated his sub authority.
He saw ten seconds into the future and in that future.
He was nothing more than a mere corpse, completely ripped apart by the claws of Ramposa.
Drowning in his own pool of bloods.
Vulture’s heart skipped a beat, he staggered back. A cold sweat broke out on his brow, his senses on high alert.
He controlled his momentum, evading the direct attack unleashed against him by the swift Ramposa.
Vulture appeared behind her.
And before Ramposa could react to what’s about to come...
Bang!
The gunshot shattered the silence, it’s loud, sharp report echoing through the air like a crack of thunder.
Leaving no doubt about its origin or intents.
The deafening blast ripped through the atmosphere, Ramposa’s head was blown off by a single enchanted bullet.
Her lifeless body was blown out of the carriage top.
"Two down, one more to go"
Vulture whispered with a grin.
~~
"I guess it’s time for me to get directly involved" Craig muttered. He gently rose up from his seat.
He was left frozen when the virtual panel appeared before his eyes.
The system-window flashed red.
A deep, crimson glow emanated from the window, it’s color a clear indication of an error, warning or critical system failure.
A furrowed brow and pinched lips betray his worry. His eyes clouded with concern, as if the weight of his thoughts was becoming overwhelming.

Pandora reported.
"Huh? Fate intends on restricting me even when my life’s on the line? Who the fuck is controlling this system?"
Craig yelled out loud.
Just then the carriage went cold, it’s entirety became as silent as a graveyard.
Craig received a cryptic warning from the system.
A message that seemed so personal.
