Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 11: The famous little green men
Since he wasn’t leaving forever he only took one quiver with only 20 arrows. The director’s office was not too far from here.
All of the buildings inside the university were connected and formed a hexagon. At the centre was a large garden.
It was empty at the moment as all the monsters were hiding from the rain plus there were multiple monster groups here.
He saw goblins and kobolds, he also saw wolves, not the shadow wolves, normal wolves but larger.
He peaked around the corner and used inspect on one of those wolves.

" What are corrupted monsters?" ( Corrupted monsters are animals from Karon who had been infected by the abyss and learnt to use mana)
That terrified him, " Wait am I a corrupted as well." ( No, humans are special creatures, it takes special conditions for one to be corrupted.)
He sighed with relief then another question appeared in his head, he couldn’t understand it, especially after seeing the stats of this wolf.
" System, why are my stats so much lower than everything else?" ( Disregarding Humanities limitless potential, they are born as one of the lowest common creatures, usually compared to goblins by higher races.
However you are also the only race in the universe that have classes granting you more potential than any other)
He nodded, " I see, wait goblins? That’s so freaken rude. Wait, how do I get a class?"
( Class can only be obtained after reaching level 10 and finding a hell’s anchor)
He had no idea what that hell’s anchor was nor did he have time to ask because the wolf had woken up.
In his surprise he slightly raised his voice, he pulled his bow and shot an arrow, he didn’t even infuse it with mana.
The wolf easily evaded the slow arrow and howled calling it pack. ’ Shit.’ he sent mana to his eyes and activated hawk eyes.
The wolf’s movements became clear to him, he pulled his bow and infused his arrow with mana.
The wolf ran at him like the wind, it was incredible fast, faster than any land animal found in former Karon.
It pounced on him, he released the arrow then rolled forward, the wolf whimpered once and crashed behind him with an arrow stuck in it throat.
He felt the floor shake, this thing was huge, larger than a bear which was too much for a wolf.
He pulled three arrows from his quiver, he was getting skilled at this technique of shooting while carrying other arrows.
He used future sight, nocked one arrow, infused it with mana then released. A wolf showed up around the corner.
The unfortunately thing came out to an arrow which pierced through it head killing it instantly.
He retreated and shot another arrow, he hit another wolf on the shoulder causing it to fall. He nocked the last arrow and released.
His control over his mana was getting better and faster with each fight, now he no longer needed two seconds to infuse a bit of mana.
He could do in the time it took to pull his bow, of course the amount of mana infused was little and could only be used in monsters with little defense like these wolves.
The last arrow missed as the fourth wolf jumped and kicked off the wall. It ran at him like the wind.
It eyes blazing with fury, behind it was another wolf, the last one it seemed. He nocked an arrow but the wolf was too close.
He fell backwards and laid on his back, it flew above him and he shot an arrow straight to it stomach.
The last wolf appeared right then, with no time to draw another arrow he used his bow to block it bite.
It grabbed his bow with it teeth and swung it head throwing him to the wall. He used future sight in that moment.
He saw the wolf pouncing on him even before he hit the wall and ripping off his throat.
He pulled out an arrow and stabbed, just as he hit the wall the wolf stabbed itself in the eye with his arrow.
Before it death it swiped it claw hitting him on the arm. The force sent him rolling on the floor for a few metres.
’ Fuck,’ he felt as if his arm was broken but he knew it was not. Fortunately it paws were huge and the claws actually missed him.
So he was only hit by the paw but it still hurt like a bitch. " I’ve been cursing a lot lately." He shook his arm and picked up his bow.
The wolf he shot on the shoulder and the one he shot on the stomach were still alive. The one he shot on the shoulder looked at him with fear.
He approached the dying one he shot on the stomach and shot it in the eye killing it then he turned to the last living wolf.
Even though he only shot it shoulder, his arrow was still empowered by mana and pierced really deep.
It could barely move but seeing him look at it with a smile, it tried to run. He chased after it and shot it down a few seconds later.
After collecting his arrows he left, " Is there a way to see how much mana I have left?" ( Possible if player meets certain conditions. Quantifying mana in numbers is never truly accurate.)
" What conditions are those?" He asked. ( I’m not allowed to reveal such information to players until they meet the conditions.)
He clicked his tongue, the system was a lousy assistance. It didn’t take him long to find the office.
However it was guarded by little green men.
’ Goblins.’ they were as ugly as the stories made them out to be.
Bald green heads with pointy ears but not in a graceful way like elves. Their lower parts were covered by dirty rags.
There were twelve of them each carrying stone daggers, they were about as tall as an eight year old but they didn’t all look the same.
Two of them were more muscular and were carrying rusty short swords. He used inspect on them.

Goblin warrior (common)

The goblin warrior was a bit stronger than a goblin, what confused him though was why they were both counted as common monsters.
