To His Hell and Back-Chapter 101: Tossed Filth
Chapter 101: Tossed Filth
Lucien was displeased by his words while Malvo took his annoyance with ease, as if he was unbothered by the stronger creature’s despise. Even in the field of vampires, he hadn’t taken part to his mother’s ambition by turning into a vampire. It was a rather dangerous risk he took to remain a human but when asked why, Malvo simply answered because he didn’t have to.
He was an odd human himself. But what kind of human could ever survive in the castle without being odd or dangerous?
"So you are saying that you admire Cassius’s cruelty?" He narrowed his red eyes and smiled, "Aren’t you wicked yourself? Considering how you watch in ease as your kind have turned into pets in this castle and killed."
"You don’t seem to understand," Malvo with ease turned and when he saw Iliza he smiled though his words couldn’t be heard by Iliza who was shocked to see his presence, Lucien could hear it well.
"The humans who are here are mostly due to their own circumstances and whether they are lucky or not," he then placed his hands and crossed it above his chest, "Besides humans also kill other humans, it is cruel but isn’t that how life is?"
Lucien furrowed his eyebrows. This was the thinking of vampires so Lucien didn’t see anything wrong with it but don’t humans think it differently? It’s been known that despite hating violence, humans does it to each other but they always pity one another and pretend with hypocrisy that to safe everyone is the way to live.
But Malvo’s mind was always odd, the opposite of his kind, and perhaps that was why he was always so eager to speak to Cassius, a vampire who is also odd and the opposite of most his of his own people.
"And," Malvo answered him again, now his eyes looking at him curved with a smile, "I quite dislike people who dig their own grave."
Lucien raised his eyebrows, wondering what it meant when the human cousin of his had left the conversation, taking his stride toward the human pet who was following Minister Rueben faithfully. Scoffing, Lucien rolled his eyes as he turned inside the bedroom to comfort his distressed mother, closing the door behind him.
Minister Rueben doesn’t like human and though it’s known so well, there was one particular human he would and had to respect with his uttermost politeness. That person being none other than the human prince, Malvo.
When he saw Malvo who had marched toward him, he had bowed his head out of respect while Malvo eyed him and then return the bow with a warm welcome.
"I have heard what had took place," said Minister Rueben, "It is indeed concerning how His Highness had protected the pet."
"Oh silly how is that concerning?" Malvo waved his hands away, "Think about it. Adele fuck around and found out. How is that anywhere near concerning? If Cassius allows her behavior because she is his family, there are others who would consider his family who would forget their place and act up."
Minister Rueben chuckled, "But you do know that Lady Adele could die in the process of defanging. She’s a pureblood but that risk is even worse for the pureblood. They also said that those who possess a fang of a pureblood could easily bring the said pureblood to submissions."
"Really?" Malvo shrugged, "I don’t know much about the purebloods."
"Not even the vampires are quite aware of their prowess. It’s known that each of them has an ability that only their bloodline could possess."
"Hm," the human prince said without much interest. "Though if Adele is really dead it would be a burden lifted from the shoulder."
Then in reply, Rueben grinned. Though the castle have ears, Rueben wasn’t scared as there weren’t any servants near them when he said, "Indeed. If this problem could bring a rift between Cassius and Genevieve there will be one less problem for us to take care of."
Malvo chuckled as he looked again at Iliza who had been burning her gaze toward him. But his gaze didn’t last for three seconds before he spoke again to Rueben, "Indeed I have forgotten about this but I suppose the prime minister had asked for a meeting with His Majesty. Do you know what it would be about Rueben?"
"I apologize, the case seem to be very close tight and it’s not something that anyone had managed to find out, we should be waiting for the meeting in three days’ count to know what it is about."
"I see," Malvo then shrugged his shoulders as he turned around, "I suppose I have had my fun here so I shall take my leave."
"Do take care, Your Highness."
Malvo waved his hands while Iliza who thought he would speak to him stared at his back which quickly disappeared with a sense of loss.
He’s going to leave? Just like that? She had heard from the conversation and finally dawned on the fact that Malvo was a human prince. When she understood that, she felt as if she had shot herself in the foot, understanding that perhaps she shouldn’t have tried to become Minister Rueben’s pet and instead begged for Malvo to take her in considering he had been worried for her.
When Malvo looked at her earlier, she could see it- though faint- a sense of pity. But Malvo knew that she had become Minister Rueben’s and decided not to partake in caring for her any longer.
Panicking, Iliza ran toward Malvo, "Excuse me! Please- wait a second!"
Malvo paused. He took three seconds before turning to Iliza offering her a smile, "What may I help you with?"
Minister Rueben who had seen his pet running was unmoved nor was he caring. Iliza took the chance to speak, "Do- Don’t you remember me?"
Malvo smiled, holding the smile still for a few seconds until he nodded, "Of course I do. I see that you have become Minister Rueben’s pet. He should be able to take care of you."
"W- Wait!" she fearfully held him by the edge on the sleeve of his navy tunic, holding it tightly. "I can explain."
"There’s nothing to explain," Malvo said and then he looked at Minister Rueben, "You have rather chosen a good master. I really do hope that he would take care of you and that you can survive."
Iliza didn’t know what to say anymore as disappointment wrote clearly in Malvo’s eyes. She could tell. She could feel it. Malvo was still pitying her situation but at the same time taken aback and perhaps even felt turned off as she had tried to climb her rank by using Minister Rueben who is known for all his heinous and viscous attack towards humans.
She couldn’t held his hands anymore as he pulled his sleev away, tucking his hands before turning away, leaving Iliza heartbroken as she came to a realization of how she had made such a big- big- mistake.
Malvo who had walked away far from the hallway hummed as he pulled out his handkerchief. He slowly wiped his wrists where he had come in contact with Iliza’s fingers. He wiped it once and then wiped it again, wiping it slowly until his movements became rough and his skin red.
He then dropped then handkerchief to the ground, his lips had removed its trained smile and his eyebrows furrowed tight.
"Each day and this castle became even more filthy."
