Chapter 618: Chapter 507: Let’s Drive a Tank, I Have a Friend Series (Request for Monthly Pass)
The next day, June 5th, Saturday.
Although he didn’t have to work today, Aoyama Xiu Xin got up early because he was going to drive a tank.
However, the weather wasn’t great; the sky was densely covered with dark clouds, which made it look like it might pour at any moment.
"Ring, ring! Ring, ring!"
His phone rang while he was having breakfast.
"Mosi Mosi?" Aoyama Xiu Xin answered.
After a moment of silence on the other end, a male voice feigning a rasp said, "Because of the incident the day before yesterday, Kudou Misaki spread malicious rumors to Fujimoto Takayoshi yesterday morning, trying to stir up trouble between you two."
"Who are you?" Aoyama Xiu Xin asked, though he had already guessed the caller’s identity—Kudou Tatsuo!
"It doesn’t matter who I am, just know that Kudou Misaki is ill-intentioned towards you." Kudou Tatsuo finished speaking from the phone booth and hung up the phone.
The reason he had chosen to inform Aoyama Xiu Xin by phone was precisely to avoid revealing his identity, and also because he was worried that Aoyama Xiu Xin would suspect him of conspiring with Kudou Misaki to set him up and not believe his words.
Prodding Aoyama Xiu Xin to deal with Kudou Misaki would serve his purpose for revenge without exposing himself.
Moreover, Kudou Tatsuo believed that with Aoyama Xiu Xin’s connections and capabilities, it wouldn’t be difficult to handle Kudou Misaki.
"Beep, beep, beep" Listening to the busy tone on the phone, Aoyama Xiu Xin felt somewhat amused.
He had intended to use Kudou Tatsuo to deal with Kudou Misaki—never had he expected that Kudou Tatsuo’s way of dealing with Kudou Misaki was to try to use him instead.
Dammit.
However, this also made things easier to resolve; as long as Kudou Tatsuo saw that he wasn’t taking any action against Kudou Misaki for a while, then he would become impatient and take matters into his own hands.
After all, from the mere act of calling him to inform him, it was clear that he was in a hurry.
Seeing that Aoyama Xiu Xin looked upset, Aoyama Haruko asked with concern, "Is something wrong?"
"It’s nothing." Aoyama Xiu Xin didn’t explain. After finishing his meal, he bade farewell to his sister-in-law and stepped outside, where Ueda Hikoshu’s car had already been waiting at the door.
It was a white Toyota SUV with dark tinted windows and a military license plate, very imposing.
When he walked over and saw who was sitting in the driver’s seat, he was taken aback for a moment, "Mrs. Hattori?"
He had assumed that Ueda Hikoshu would just send a guard to guide him, but he didn’t expect that it would be Ueda Hanon, the daughter of the general herself, coming in person.
"Hi! Mr. Aoyama, I was just about to make a trip to the Seventh Division base, so my father simply decided to have me take you there," Ueda Hanon said with a smile.
"Thank you then, Mrs. Hattori," Aoyama Xiu Xin said with a slight bow, then moved around to the passenger side and got in, this time without bringing Jin Yucheng.
After Aoyama Xiu Xin had buckled his seatbelt, Ueda Hanon asked, "Shall we depart now?"
"Hi!" Aoyama Xiu Xin nodded.
Ueda Hanon executed a U-turn with the car.
The Seventh Division was originally organized in Asahikawa, also known as the Asahikawa Division, and is now stationed in Chitose City, more than fifty kilometers from Sapporo, less than an hour’s drive away.
Not long after they set off, it began to drizzle.
Due to having harbored fantasies about Aoyama Xiu Xin, combined with her husband’s misunderstanding which had caused a fissure in her marriage, and also due to the reason for secretly going to Chitose with Aoyama Xiu Xin, Ueda Hana’s mood was quite heavy, hence she remained silent ever since the car started.
Naturally, Aoyama Xiu Xin noticed Ueda Hanon’s somber mood and glanced at her.
She was still wearing her military uniform today—the 91-type regular service uniform that Japan had just updated the year before last. The overall deep green color matched with a wide-brimmed hat and gold buttons. The fitted uniform stretched tight over her prominent curves, making it look somewhat bloated, yet the rounded arc was smooth and full.
The military trousers were relatively loose but still tightened when she sat down, revealing very defined, voluptuous curves on the sides of her hips and legs, which were quite tantalizing.
She must not often participate in training.
Otherwise, her skin wouldn’t be so pale and smooth.
Ueda Hanon became a little uncomfortable upon noticing Aoyama Xiu Xin’s gaze. In her mind, she visualized Aoyama Xiu Xin galloping on a horse, and these past nights, she had dreamt she was the female soldier being ravaged by him.
Her heart pounded chaotically, and feigning composure, she said, "Mr. Aoyama, what are you looking at? Is there dirt on my face?"
Her grip on the steering wheel grew tighter due to her nervousness, and the toes in her leather shoes clenched forcefully.
"It’s nothing. I just noticed Mrs. Hattori doesn’t seem very happy. We can’t just sit in silence during such a long journey. If you have worries, feel free to share them with me," Aoyama Xiu Xin offered with a gentle and elegant smile, like a warm spring breeze, very likable.
Ueda Hanon didn’t originally want to say anything, but she was truly feeling frustrated inside. After hesitating for a moment, she pursed her red lips and slowly began, "I have a friend. Due to an accident, her husband mistakenly thought she was unfaithful. No matter how she explained, he refused to believe her."
Are you talking about yourself?
"What sort of accident?" Aoyama Xiu Xin was somewhat surprised. He thought Hattori Si and Ueda Hana had a good relationship, but it seemed that wasn’t the case.
Ueda Hanon’s cheeks turned a faint red, clearly struggling to speak, "She... she called out another man’s name while comforting herself, and her husband just happened to hear it, which led to a misunderstanding. But from what I know about her, she loves her husband dearly and would never do anything to betray her family."
Aoyama Xiu Xin laughed, so it was all because of marital discord that led Ueda Hanon to fantasize about other men while entertaining herself. He hadn’t expected Hattori Si to be such a dud!
This thought made him rather restless.
He still very much craved Ueda Hanon’s body.
He hadn’t thought about it before, thinking the couple was quite happy. If he meddled carelessly, not only would he get nowhere, but he might also stir up trouble.
That would be a loss not worth the risk.
But now that he knew the couple was not happy, an opportunity had presented itself. If he could win over Ueda Hanon, wouldn’t that bind him even closer to Ueda Hikoshu?
Then he would become the son-in-law of the Land Guard North Force.
As for Hattori Si... without Ueda Hanon and Ueda Hikoshu, he was nothing, hardly a concern.
Although it might seem a bit low, everything was for the sake of power, and power in itself was not lowly.
Even though Ueda Hanon had a fantasy man in her heart, Aoyama Xiu Xin was not afraid of competition.
Because he never played fair.
"So that’s how it is," began Aoyama Xiu Xin, applying his words like ointment, "I don’t think Mrs. Hattori’s friend did anything wrong. Everyone fantasizes about outrageous things in their heart, but as long as they don’t act on it, how could that be considered wrong? Rather, her husband—he never trusted his wife to begin with, or else he wouldn’t have been so convinced that his wife was cheating just because of that."
He might as well have pointed at her nose and called her a clown.
"I... I..." Ueda Hanon stuttered, both embarrassed and disheartened, feeling utterly dejected.
Aoyama Xiu Xin smiled and said, "I doubt it. At most he might have gotten jealous, which is normal. That’s what it means to have a good relationship, to love you! Your friend’s situation is because her husband never trusted her. In his eyes, his wife is the type of woman to cheat, so he jumped to that unwavering conclusion without any investigation..."
"Enough! Stop talking!" Ueda Hanon could no longer bear it and interrupted Aoyama Xiu Xin, her breathing quick and frantic as she protested, "It’s not good to talk behind people’s backs."
Facing Hattori Si’s doubts, she did feel guilty at first because she thought fantasizing about Aoyama Xiu Xin was a form of emotional infidelity. But Hattori Si refused to listen to her, firmly believing she had already physically cheated, and the day before, he even said such unpleasant words in front of their daughter, which ignited anger in her heart. Aoyama Xiu Xin’s recent words had only added a chill to her disappointment.
Indeed, why was Hattori Si so convinced that she had already cheated? It meant she was seen as nothing but a promiscuous woman in his eyes!
And this led to even more thoughts.
For instance, if he had this perception, why would he marry her in the first place? Was it really for love, or solely for her family background? Or perhaps he had approached her right from the beginning because of her family.
All the past affection might have been his pretense, and she had been totally consumed by the pretense of happiness he had created.
The more Ueda Hanon thought, the colder she felt, her hands trembling slightly as she bit her lip to keep her tears from falling, not wanting Aoyama Xiu Xin to see.
"Right, my apologies," said Aoyama Xiu Xin, noting her expression out of the corner of his eye and smirking. He finished with a feigned sincerity, "But if you really care for this friend, you should still advise her to get a divorce. That man isn’t worth it."
"But they already have a child," Ueda Hanon took a deep breath and replied subconsciously.
"That’s not a good way to think," Aoyama Xiu Xin shook his head and sighed, "Marriage is for happiness, and so is divorce. If you’re really thinking about the child’s welfare, then the divorce is even more necessary!"
"Think about it, if the couple can’t get along because of this, they’ll inevitably argue in front of the child. Kids are sensitive, is it really good for her to live in such a tense environment? A miserable family is worse than a happy single-parent one."
Ueda Hanon recalled how her daughter hardly spoke at dinner the day before and was clearly not as clingy as usual with herself and Hattori Si.
She hadn’t paid it much attention before, but now it was apparent it was due to the conflict between her and Hattori Si.
"I’ll talk to her," Ueda Hanon murmured, pursing her lips. If Hattori Si continued to misunderstand her, then for the child’s sake, this marriage would have to end!
The rain was coming down harder now, turning from a drizzle at the start into a heavy downpour, but thanks to the windshield wipers, the visibility wasn’t affected, and driving could continue.
"Ring Ring! Ring Ring!"
Ueda Hanon’s mobile phone suddenly rang.
However, because of the heavy rain, her view was somewhat obscured, and while driving, she dared not get distracted, "Mr. Aoyama, could you please answer it for me?"
"Hi!" Aoyama Xiu Xin took the mobile phone from her bag and answered, "Hello, who’s speaking?"
Hearing that familiar voice, Hattori Si’s mind exploded into a blank. Holding the receiver, he was speechless and forgot to say anything.
Knowing his wife was on a business trip and seeing the heavy rain, he had decided to call her to remind her to be careful on the road. But in his wildest dreams, he did not expect Aoyama Xiu Xin to answer the phone.
Is this what she meant by going on a business trip alone?!
Sure enough, they had been having an affair all along!
