Volume 2, Afterword

To all my readers, I thank you once again for all your support. I’m GA Publishing’s dog, Mikawa Ghost. I’d like to give you my thanks for picking up the 2nd installment of [Tomodachi no Imouto ga Ore ni Dake Uzai].

On the first day when the series first went on sale, a lot of the stores were already asking for a reprint, and it was the highest sales I’d ever gotten on the first day for a published release. Though I can’t tell you the exact numbers, I can tell you that there were a lot, and it makes me really happy, and to be honest, a bit scared.

Not to mention, as you might’ve already seen, ImoZa will be receiving a comicalization! Cheers! It’s all thanks to my dear readers who continue to support me. Thank you!

Now then, this is where we start to actually talk about the contents of the 2nd installment, so a little warning to those who haven’t read this volume yet. Naturally, it won’t be anything great, but I just wanted to get a little warning out here.

…Okay?

Nothing left to read for the 2nd volume? Very well. Here we go.

Actually, in this 2nd volume, we have a scene where certain characters enjoy a beautiful night scene in a high-class restaurant, with some french cooking to boot. As the restaurant gives off the perfect vibe for a ‘proposal after dinner’-type of thing, the two of them spend a romantic time together. Although it might not be very fitting for the high schoolers that Akiteru and Mashiro are, it was a very important scene to me, so I wanted it to write it as best I could. But the moment I was about to start writing, I came across a certain problem.

“……Eh? Have I ever gone to such a high-class restaurant before?”

What kind of place it is, what kind of atmosphere reigns there, what kind of food they serve, what kind of rules they have, without any information on that, being inexperienced, so to speak, I was unsure if I could portray the right feeling in the scene.

Hence, I made up my mind to go there and collect data—

To experience a night scene with delicious food like Akiteru and the heroine would. That’s why I went there.

Telling myself “There’s the heroine sitting right in front of me right now. No matter what anyone else says, she’s there,” I experienced lunch at a high-class restaurant by myself. Attracting pitiful gazes from the people around me, I somehow managed to survive that lunch.

Most of the things that I, a loner, have experience in are things such as going to karaoke alone, eating yakiniku alone, having hot pot alone, and so on, but without a doubt, that was the highest hurdle yet. The employee prepared a seat for me, in the corner of the room where I wouldn’t garner much attention from the people around me, and thanks to that, I succeeded in collecting data for ImoZa. Really, employee-san, thank you so much. It made me once again realize that I’d better look out for a partner who would come with me if I needed to collect data on things like these.

…………………………………………………………………………I’m not crying, okay?

Time for the thanks.

Tomari-sensei, who was responsible for the illustrations once again.

Thank you so much for bringing forth these god-like illustration, again! The newly introduced characters Midori and Otoi-san were exactly as I envisioned them…no, they were even better, design-wise. I really tried to implement their charm into my writing in order not to lose to these godly illustrations. I hope to have your continued support, even in the future of ImoZa! Looking forward to it!

My editor Nuru-san.

You save me every time with your extraordinary guidance. Your sharp, reader-like, objective opinion is exactly what helps me in reworking my scenes, and your advice is always greatly appreciated. Please, let’s keep ImoZa as interesting…no, let’s make it even more interesting!

Now, everyone who’s involved in reprinting, or the ones who are creativefully advertising on TWITTER, everyone from GA Publishing, everyone from the trading business that gave me a boost, the store employees who leave good comments on my novel and try to advertise it as best as they can—

And finally, everyone who was involved with the distribution of this novel, thank you very much. It is all thanks to your continued support that I’m able to write this afterword. Naturally, that goes just as much for the readers who picked up this novel, and read it all the way to this very afterword that I’m writing right now. Thank you so, so much. I will do my best to live up to your expectations, so please continue to support me and the ever growing ImoZa series. That would be my greatest pleasure.
