Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 44 Costume Problems
Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Costume Problems
Aurelia was taken aback. When did she give him such an impression?
In her past life, she had learned many things to make Mason Nightshade like her, but often, before she could learn for long, Eleanor Spencer would come and tell her that Mason now liked something else. As a result, she became a figure in Mason’s eyes who approaches tasks half-heartedly.
Yet, in truth, she gained something from everything she learned.
She wasn’t inherently stupid; it’s just that in her past life, she was misled by deceitful people, ventured down the wrong path, and never settled down to study properly, which led her academic and professional life into a mess.
To speak of it, she really seemed to be quite off-putting; whether during school, after marriage, or when she later stepped into the entertainment industry, she always encountered people setting her up.
But—how did Mason Nightshade know about these?
Weren’t these things... from the past life?
A hint of doubt flashed across Aurelia’s eyes.
Mason Nightshade stood up, picked up the coat from the ground, shook it, draped it over his shoulders, tidied the cuffs neatly, turned back, and said to Aurelia blandly, "Your father-in-law called me today. He said we should go back for dinner tomorrow night. You should sleep early; I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow evening. Don’t run around aimlessly again. As for today’s matter, I’ll settle it with you another day!"
Aurelia watched him walk away. He took out his phone while walking, seemingly making a call to someone. The door closed, and suddenly, her phone on the table beeped.
An unknown number texted her.
Aurelia opened it, and a photo popped up on the screen. Eleanor Spencer was smiling sweetly, sitting next to Mason Nightshade, leaning slightly, her mouth close to his ear as if whispering something, her cheeks blushing with a shy red, corners of her mouth slightly upturned, eyes filled with deep admiration and affection for the man. Mason Nightshade’s brows were lightly furrowed; his expression indifferent, seeming displeased with others getting close, yet... he didn’t refuse.
The atmosphere was really something.
It seemed like they had a lot of fun after she left, so why give her a hard time?
His face was full of dissatisfaction, undoubtedly because he didn’t find satisfaction from Eleanor Spencer, so he came to her seeking attention!
The person who purposefully sent her this message certainly didn’t have good intentions.
There sure are a lot of people who enjoy the spectacle. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Aurelia slightly narrowed her phoenix eyes, a cold flash passed through her pupils, her lips were slightly curved, as her fingers gently caressed Eleanor Spencer’s cheek in the photo. The seemingly gentle action carried a thread of coldness so chilling it made one shiver.
The next day.
Aurelia got up early and rushed to the filming site. Audrey Wood was complaining about her for this; Aurelia paid her no mind, letting the makeup artist do her makeup.
With her makeup halfway done, there came a knock on the door. A woman in her late twenties walked in, holding a costume in her hand, smiling at Aurelia, "Aurelia, this is the costume you’ll be wearing today." As her gaze swept over Audrey Wood, the two exchanged an inexplicable look.
Aurelia languidly lifted her eyelids and glanced at her once. The lines of her eyes were sharp and cold, looking straight with a kind of frigid chill, causing the woman to shiver, her complexion pale, unconsciously tightening her grip on her fingers.
"Just leave it there." Aurelia’s sharp gaze swept over her face, her lively voice spoke lightly.
"You should try it on first." The woman said with an unnatural smile.
Aurelia didn’t respond, her gaze lightly swept to the costume, the woman’s hand situated under the tray, not touching a single inch of the costume. Women have a natural inability to resist beautiful things, but this woman, facing such a dazzling and lavish costume, instead of taking the chance to touch it, avoided it as if it were a virus.
In her mind, echoed the piece of disjointed conversation she heard the night before—Ha, trying to make her look a fool?
