Chapter 70: Chapter 70: People with Ulterior Motives
Mason Nightshade didn’t answer immediately but instead fell into thought. Just when Jovana Shaw thought he would refuse, he calmly said, "Okay."
Jovana beamed with surprise and happily skipped over to Mason’s side. Before she could sit down, Mason’s eyes flickered slightly, and whether intentionally or not, he placed the computer where she intended to sit.
"Sit down," Mason acted as if he hadn’t noticed Jovana’s intentions and pointed to the sofa opposite.
Jovana awkwardly tightened her grip on her book, looking at Mason’s calm profile, yet unable to find any flaw. Though a bit disappointed, she still sat on the single sofa opposite.
She had finally found a chance to be alone with Mason, and she couldn’t let it go to waste. It didn’t matter that they weren’t sitting together; she had other ways to make Mason fall for her.
Jovana smiled, a glint of determination flashing in her eyes.
She opened her workbook and pointed a problem out to Mason, her big eyes blinking as if she had encountered a challenging question. She bit her lower lip and looked at Mason with a pleading gaze, "Brother-in-law, this question... The teacher explained it in class, but I still don’t get it. I’m really so dumb."
No man can resist the opportunity to perform well in front of a woman, especially someone like Mason who is possessive and assertive.
After Mason explained the problem, she would compliment him, admiring him as her idol. Mason would surely change his impression of her, and she could frequently ask him questions in the future. She didn’t believe that nothing would happen over time.
Jovana calculated her little plan in her heart, but unexpectedly, Mason only glanced casually and explained the problem-solving clear and concisely in a few words. If she continued to pretend not to understand, the obedient and smart student image she had worked hard to maintain would be questioned.
"Ha... haha... Brother-in-law, you’re amazing, the problem that troubled me for so long, you solved it so easily, really amazing." Although he made the problem seem like child’s play, Jovana persisted in praising Mason.
Mason nodded lightly, showing no reaction as if even this was troublesome. He picked up his computer to get back to work.
Jovana, unwilling to give up, quickly called out to him: "Brother-in-law, I have some other problems in math that I don’t understand. Can you help me with those too?"
Thinking it might be inappropriate, Jovana added: "Dad and Mom are asleep, and the servants at home don’t know. At this time, I can’t ask the teacher either. I remember brother-in-law graduated from a prestigious university in M Nation. These problems shouldn’t be difficult for you."
"Where else?" Mason asked.
Jovana happily raised her face and quickly flipped open her math textbook, unaware that Mason just wanted to deal with her quickly because her chirping was affecting his work, and he didn’t want the little girl to get the wrong idea.
"Here." Jovana handed over the textbook, then leaned over most of the table, her neckline open, glancing sideways. From her position, you could vaguely see inside, and a rich scent of bathing fragrance enveloped the air.
Mason frowned in disgust, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes, his lips curled in silent derision as if he hadn’t seen anything, and continued to explain the question calmly.
