Chapter 69: Chapter 69 Staying Overnight at Home

"What did you just say?" Aurelia asked, her eyelids too heavy to lift. She was so tired, it seemed like she heard Mason whispering something in her ear but couldn’t make it out.

"If you’re tired, just keep sleeping."

Mason slipped his arm under Aurelia’s knees, intending to carry her to the car, when Balthazar came to his senses, "It’s so late, it’s not safe to head back now. You two should stay here tonight."

"It’s not very convenient," Mason said.

"What’s inconvenient about a daughter and son-in-law staying at home? I haven’t seen Aurelia in a long time. This child was quite clingy to me when she was little. Even though she doesn’t say it, no father and daughter don’t miss each other," Balthazar appeared to recall something, and his eyes dimmed slightly.

Mason was silent for a moment, then nodded slightly to Balthazar, "Sorry for the intrusion."

Balthazar gave a bitter smile. No matter what Mason’s feelings for Aurelia were, his attitude towards him had always been distant and indifferent. He probably didn’t know about that matter, right? If Mason knew, he definitely wouldn’t have married Aurelia, otherwise, this man’s scheming was too deep.

May he never know about that matter. Hope Aurelia can capture Mason’s heart, and hope... that this man truly cares.

The room was very clean, with nothing much needing tidying, showing that someone cleaned it every day.

After being carried into the room by Mason, Aurelia felt more awake instead. Perhaps it was the thought of being alone with Mason in a room that made her feel a sense of danger.

The servant tidied up briefly and said to the two, "Miss, young master, the change of clothes is placed in the bathroom for you. The things in the room are instructed to be changed weekly by the master, all are new, and the sheets and bedding are changed frequently too."

Aurelia nodded, her expression unchanged, but her heart felt like a jar of mixed emotions, unsure of how to feel.

Maybe her father genuinely cared for her and loved her, but everyone is selfish. She hoped her father’s love was entirely her own.

"Push me into the bathroom for a bath." Hiding the bittersweet recollections in her heart, Aurelia told the servant.

The servant helped Aurelia into a special wheelchair, and Mason instructed the servant, "Be careful, don’t get water on her wounds."

"Yes, I understand, young master," the servant replied, head lowered, feeling inexplicably intimidated; young master’s eyes seemed capable of devouring people, and although his presence was like a mint breeze, it felt akin to the bloody scent after a chicken was slaughtered.

The servant pushed Aurelia into the bathroom, and soon the sound of rushing water came out. Mason called Gustavo Yates, telling him to go back first, then turned around to see the black silk pajamas the servant laid on the bed, walked over, and put them on.

After changing into something more comfortable, he opened his laptop, sat on the sofa, and began handling company matters.

"Knock, knock!!" Someone was knocking at the door, Mason paused his work, looked towards the door, and asked, "Who is it?"

A soft and gentle woman’s voice came from outside the door:

"Brother-in-law, it’s me, may I come in?"

Mason contemplated for a moment, then said, "Come in."

Jovana Shaw pushed open the door and entered. Upon entering, she saw Mason sitting on the sofa in black silk pajamas, with a laptop on his lap, his long legs crossed, exuding a lazy yet noble demeanor, like a Deity.

Jovana’s heart raced like a startled deer. She held the book in her arms tightly, standing there hesitantly and nervously.

She wore a pink lace nightgown, the skirt reaching just above her knees, her calves slender and evenly shaped. It wasn’t overly sensual, but added a touch of innocent cuteness.

It was evident she had dressed up meticulously.

Mason slighted his eyes, his face nonchalant and calm.

Jovana shyly lowered her head, walked up to Mason, "Bro... Brother-in-law, I have a problem I can’t solve, can you teach me?"
