Transmigrated as The Forgotten Extra-Chapter 105 Morning Departure.
That night, the two youngsters sat together on the balconies watching the night sky. Alone in her own dimly lit room, Selena was holding a terminal in her hands. She tapped the display until it showed an audio transmitter.
After the discussion with Cain, Selena ordered one of her servants to plant a device that would transmit sound from a faraway distance. It was rude, a breach of privacy, and illegal.
The servants followed the order and planted the devices in several places in the mansion. However, the devices had a limited range. The thing picked up nothing as the pair walked around the grounds outside. An opportunity came when Luna went searching for Cain in the cold night; a servant presented her with a coat that had been hacked with a transmitter.
Luckily, an opportunity came when Luna was searching for Cain, and one of the servants gave her a coat that was already planted by the device.
If Luna discovered the truth, neither the servant nor Selena could fathom the consequences.
Selena looked toward the small monitor in her hand. The thin line on the display began to pulsate, transmitting her daughter’s voice.
{So you are here. }
She gulped, a bit nervous about the thing she had done to her own daughters. But somehow, Selena wanted to hear their conversation and learn about her daughter’s love life. She wanted to see what kind of person Cain was.
Was he qualified as a candidate for her son-in-law?
Years bedridden had certainly warped her sense of boundaries. Or perhaps, Selena had always been this much of a delightful meddler.
’Um, I’m not doing something wrong.’
There was absolutely no hesitation or guilty conscience in that tone of hers. Rather, Selena couldn’t suppress the grin plastered on her beautiful face.
{Well, I was just thinking about something.}
{About what?}
{Nothing serious.}
{Hmm, is that so?}
Selena cast her gaze aside, hearing the two slightly awkward conversations. Her heart started to pound hard, igniting a flame of passion that had long been dormant when she was bedridden with the virus.
She had long experienced this heart-throbbing moment with her husband, yet hearing it again from her daughter’s side, it stirred up long-forgotten bittersweet memories of her and her husband.
"Ufufu, you’re still green my daughter’s."
A low, utterly delighted laugh escaped her, echoing in the spacious room. She listened to their conversation with a melting expression until the two youngsters’ tone shifted, growing heavy and cold.
Selena’s loosened facial expression slowly turned hardened as she listened to the story. She still remembered it, at that time when her daughter was escaping her sight in the middle of a crowded mall. She and her husband ran throughout the mall areas, searching for her whereabouts, only to find her with a local security guard, bawling her eyes out while she kept repeating the word ’sorry.’
At that time, Selena thought the girl was feeling guilty for making her parents worry. But to think there was such a heavy story behind it.
The woman’s black eyes shone in a dangerous glint, keeping note of the adults who almost kidnapped her daughters. Although time had passed, and some of them probably had disappeared from the world, if there was at least one of them, Selena wanted to give the man a proper punishment for scaring her daughter.
Selena listened, her playful smile freezing as the conversation plunged into darkness. Her eyes widened in genuine shock at hearing that the boy had such a disturbing power within him.
’...His memories are erased!?’
The woman’s hand moved in a blur, tapping the exit button, then with her skillful hands, Selena erased every trace and the record of their conversation.
She turned off the terminal, then set it aside as she leaned back, exhaling a long breath to wash away the tension in her body. Never in her wildest dream did the boy hold such a dark secret. Selena began to regret her decision to chase fun to satiate her teasing tendencies.
Several times passed in deafening silence, the woman took back her terminal and instead of telling her husband to prepare her some weapons and guns, Selena wrote something else: [Tomorrow, Luna and her friend (the boy who saved me) will come to your place. Treat him with care and, like I said before, prepare something for him. No, do something for him, for the boy was my life saviour]
Selena waited for a moment before a notification entered her device. It was a reply from her husband: [Understood]
"Good." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
She nodded, then turned off the terminal and placed it on the small cabinet beside the bed. The woman lifted her gaze, watching the darkened room, which was already a part of her life. But this time, she was having a hard time embracing this loneliness, coupled with the grief she held against the boy and her daughter.
"It’s going to be a long night tonight."

The night passed, shrouded in a gloom that lingered into morning. Cain slept early and woke up in the morning, but his mind was heavy for some reason. That night, the conversation he had with senior Luna still haunted him in his sleep.
Not only was he lying to cover his secret. Also, the fact that he had severed a connection between the two of them in the past. A thread he had cut mercilessly, with little chance of recovery.
However, Cain didn’t harbor the slightest regret for the decision he made. It sounded cruel and cold, but it was all a necessary piece for him to survive in this decaying world.
He was standing near the entrance door, waiting for senior Luna to appear. The boy stared at his surroundings. A gust of wind passed by, exhaling a cold that brought the scent of nature, soothing his weary mind.
The sound of rustling grass almost made his eyelids close, but the sound of footsteps behind him pulled Cain back into the surface.
"Sorry for the wait."
The grey-haired boy peeked over his shoulder, and senior Luna stopped beside him. She wore casual clothes, which gave her a prim and elegant image with those pairs of white blouses and navy jeans.
Cain was a bit choked on his part. The servant had prepared an unused outfit from Luna’s big brother. It was stylish and well-fitted for his size. Cain wore a white shirt tucked under the black trousers. He rolled the long sleeve to his elbow, giving him a bit of ease in movement.
If they stood next to each other, people would immediately assume the two were a pair because of their almost matching colors.
"No, it’s okay. So why do we have to wear this? We are going to the facilities, right?"
The girl beside her parted her lips, and didn’t have any intention to speak. At the same time, a black limousine that Cain saw yesterday suddenly parked in front of the mansion, and Malik exited the driver’s seat, then opened the passenger door.
"Young lady, Cain, the preparations are ready. We may go."
Hearing Malik’s words, senior Luna nodded and, without any warning, began to interlock her fingers with him, pulling Cain to enter the car.
"Wait, wait, where are we going anyway?"
Cain put a bit of strength into his hand, gently squeezing the girl’s hand. Senior Luna, who turned her gaze at him, spoke.
"We are going to get your weapon."
His brows furrowed in wonder, but before Cain could voice his protest. Luna had dragged him toward the limousine and heard a gentle ’thud’ as the passenger door closed by Malik.
Malik, who returned to his driver’s seat, glanced at the mirror hung above the dashboard. The man couldn’t hide the smirk on his face as he looked at Cain’s connected hands.
"Please, enjoy yourself. I will drive nice and slow."
Cain opened his mouth to protest, but Luna spoke first.
"Thanks Malik."
With that as a cue, the man stepped on the gas, letting the engine rumble smoothly. Cain exhaled, and he leaned toward his seat while looking toward the window.
’Can you just bring the weapon I asked for?’
