Transmigrated as the Villain Boss's Precious Darling-Chapter 13: Educating the Bear Child
Tang Xiaonan forced herself to be patient, enduring the torment of Jim Thorne’s claws. ’Let this "third brother" of mine blow off some steam,’ she thought. ’When we get home, I’ll just have Phoebe Huxley redo my hair.’
But Jim Thorne, simmering with anger, got more and more out of hand. He couldn’t control his claws, and both of Tang Xiaonan’s pigtails came undone. Her hair was a mess, making her look like a little ghost, and strands were poking her in the eyes.
At the end of her rope, Tang Xiaonan really wanted to throttle this brat, but she held back.
’I’m a rational, mature adult. I can’t stoop to a little kid’s level.’ But she couldn’t just let Jim Thorne get away with it, either. Tang Xiaonan blinked, and her eyes immediately turned red. They welled up, and tears began to spin in her big eyes.
"My eyes hurt... Third Brother is mean... WAHHH..."
Tang Xiaonan silently scorned herself for three seconds, then shamelessly continued to play the part of a cute little girl. She was going to get all the coddling she missed out on in her past life.
Jim Thorne froze, his hand hovering in mid-air. Howard Thorne furiously slapped his claw away and brushed Tang Xiaonan’s hair aside. Her eyes were as red as a rabbit’s, and she looked pitiful with her little chubby nose twitching.
A tide of self-blame washed over Jim Thorne. ’It was just one piece of candy. How could I have hurt Xiaonan? I’m the worst. Is she going to ignore me from now on?’
Jim Thorne looked at Tang Xiaonan guiltily and mumbled, "Xiaonan..."
Tang Xiaonan pouted and turned her head away from him. She needed to play it cool for a moment to teach Jim Thorne not to pull her hair all the time. ’It’s so annoying!’
Jim Thorne felt a pang in his heart, and his face fell. ’My sister doesn’t like me anymore. She’s definitely not going to talk to me.’
’She won’t follow me around calling me ’Third Brother’ anymore.’
With his vivid imagination, the more Jim Thorne thought about it, the more dejected he became, and the more he hated himself. ’It was just a piece of candy. So what if Xiaonan gave it away? At worst, I can just beat up Adrian Hawthorne later to blow off steam. Why did I have to go and make Xiaonan angry?’
*Sigh...*
’Jim Thorne was genuinely good to the original owner of this body,’ Tang Xiaonan thought, starting to feel a little bad for him. ’Although he isn’t what most people would consider a good person—more of a hooligan who’s always getting into fights—his devotion to his sister is second to none in this world.’
’The three brothers are all actually the same. They act fierce, domineering, and a bit like scoundrels in front of outsiders, but they’re genuinely good to their parents and sister.’
Howard Thorne glared at his brother. ’What a good-for-nothing,’ he thought. ’Making Xiaonan angry over a piece of candy.’
"I’ll blow on it, and it’ll stop hurting," Howard said. "Don’t pay any attention to your third brother. Eldest Brother will hold you."
Howard Thorne suppressed a little leap of joy in his heart. ’Xiaonan has finally had a falling out with the third one! She used to follow him around all day, and it always made me so jealous. I was hoping they’d have a falling out someday.’
’This day has finally come!’ 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"That’s right! Let’s ignore him. Second Brother will hold you!"
Patrick Thorne also joined in on the fun. He was even happier, wishing his sister and their third brother would have a falling out every single day.
Jim Thorne was so mad he could spit. ’Eldest Brother and Second Brother are the worst! Kicking a man while he’s down!’ he fumed. ’Hmph, my bond with Xiaonan is stronger than gold. Nobody is going to steal my sister from me!’
But then his shoulders slumped in defeat again.
Because... Tang Xiaonan still wasn’t paying him any attention!
Tang Xiaonan glanced at Jim Thorne, who looked as wilted as a frost-bitten eggplant, and chuckled to herself. ’I’ll just hold out a little longer, and then I’ll make up with my "third brother." You have to teach a brat like him step by step. You can’t rush these things.’
Howard Thorne clumsily tied his sister’s hair into two pigtails, but they were so loose that they were already mostly undone.
Howard Thorne picked Tang Xiaonan up. Even though she was a little meatball, Howard, who was as strong as an ox, lifted her effortlessly. Jim Thorne trudged alongside them with his head hung low, sneaking glances at his sister from time to time. He wanted to talk to her but didn’t dare.
He was afraid his sister was still angry.
But with his sister ignoring him, his heart ached.
