Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)-Chapter 539 - 538: Reaching the first base southwards 5
However, since they weren’t doing anything bad, Luciel didn’t intervene and just watched them get along well.
He had also given some instructions to Ian while they were resting in the North Base, so as long as he did well and followed his instructions, he wouldn’t lose his mind even if he goes crazy for a bit if something really happens in the future.
Of course, he also asked Ian to look for him if he had further questions about his instructions.
However, Ian hadn’t looked for him afterwards, so he probably already understood what he said or was still trying to understand them.
Luciel looked at all the kids in front of him and stopped thinking about unrelated things.
Nathan was already talking to the man that was supposed to guide them around the base, so Luciel just said that they should go and just left Nathan at the very front talking to the man leading them around.
As for him, he slowly walked at the back while looking around the base and also at the kids in front of him, who were also glancing here and there.
Since they didn’t have any destination, Nathan and the man in front of them were responsible for leading them around.
Since they were near the trading market of the base, they went there first, and as expected, there weren’t a lot of people present in the trade market and there weren’t a lot of goods for trade.
Luciel and the others looked around and saw that there were really only a few displayed items for trading, and most of them seemed to be something that wouldn’t really sell well. Of course, there were still useful items, but there were really only a few of them.
Since they already had a lot of goods with them, they weren’t interested in the things being sold in the market.
And they had also seen what was available in the North Base, so he and the kids just looked around and didn’t buy anything.
Afterwards, they continued looking around the base and saw the state of the people in it.
A lot of people were also curiously looking at them but didn’t approach after seeing their numbers as well as the man who was leading them around.
The kids were also looking around and didn’t ask a lot of questions yet. They’ll probably ask about what they saw once they’re finally back in their RV.
Of course, they’re still asking questions about some things. For example, they passed by a woman who was stitching a lot of clothes together and asked what the woman was doing, so Nichole answered that the woman was probably making it into a blanket that they could use later.
Aside from the woman, they also saw other people who were busy doing something, and when they didn’t know what those people were doing, the kids would ask about it.
However, they never asked why they weren’t living well, or why they were living in obviously dilapidated buildings, or why the people they met seemed to be malnourished.
They probably had a hunch of the answer already, so they didn’t ask about those things. Well, they’ll probably ask more about those later when they’re the only ones present.
They continued roaming around the base and then they saw a lot of kids in a corner of an alley.
The kids stopped and then stared at those kids in the alley, while the kids in the alley also stopped what they were doing and looked at them warily.
Those kids were obviously orphaned kids and no one probably took care of them, as it seemed that they were living in the alley; Luciel could see some paper boxes as well as pieces of iron sheets at the corner.
They’re all obviously very malnourished already, but they actually looked more energetic than most of the people in the base, as they still had life in their eyes.
Of course, they were also looking at them warily, probably because they had already encountered a lot of bad adults.
Well, most of them also showed envious looks when they saw the state of the kids that were with them.
However, even though they were envious, they didn’t do anything and just silently looked at them warily.
"Big brother, can we give them some food? They look very hungry. I’ll eat less for this month," Ashlee said after staring at the kids in the alley.
"Me, too. I won’t eat a lot later. I’ll give them some!" Sophie said.
"I will also give them some. I will eat less and help out with more chores later," Lisa also said.
Nash and Theo also said the same thing. While the older kids didn’t say anything, it’s obvious that they were also planning to give some to help the kids that they saw.
Luciel chuckled after hearing and looking at them. The younger kids had already learned about exchanges, as they had seen a lot of it happen and they had also already learned about it in their lessons.
They had already learned that they couldn’t just give something away, as those things would cost something, as they were things that other people had worked hard for.
Especially in the times that they were in, those that were teaching them had taught them about the value of food, clothes, medicines, and weapons already.
So, hearing that they’ll eat less for a month just to give some part of what they’re supposed to eat to other kids made him chuckle.
It seemed that they hadn’t learned how to properly use the money that they have yet.
Well, most of their things were all provided to them and they don’t lack anything so it’s no wonder they don’t remember much about their own money and how to use it.
"No need to eat less for a month. You guys have received a lot of contribution points as part of your Christmas gifts and New Year’s money, right?"
