Transmigrated to Game World with SSS Wife-Chapter 93: Path of Annihilation—Final Hope
[Nick's PoV]
Nick stared disbelievingly as he watched the beast lick Dyr's blood. It licked with an elegance that betrayed the action's inherent savagery.
Soft steps echoed across the floor as Nick willed his body to move forward. His last hope, his only hope, turned out to be nothing more than a snack for the beast. Death was imminent, and not just his.
Everyone's. Everyone was dying in the fight against the demons.
If he couldn't find a way to kill the beast...
'Come on then!' Nick thought to himself, trying to find ways to gain confidence.
But he was on 1 HP. He couldn't use the benefits of his zone state, [Emperor's Will]. If the beast remained perfectly still, maybe he could combine [Shadow Step] and [Evisceration] again. However, with his low health and the beast's prowess...
Well, that didn't seem likely to work.
There was only one idea Nick had left. The circular throne and tattered banners...
In a monotonous room of blood and gray, they stuck out like a sore thumb. There had to be some kind of importance to them. Asmodeus had even come out from that circular throne.
So Nick continued his silent journey toward the throne, hoping his echoing footsteps would be drowned out by the beast drinking blood.
Slurp.
Slurp.
Slurp.
The beast continued his indulgence, seemingly giving no care about the person he was originally spawned to kill. It was indifferent to anything except satiating its own desires. In this case, blood.
Nick hoped that it would remain content with the demon's blood instead of searching for something better. Looking ahead, he saw he was just a few steps away. If he was correct... just a few more steps and he'd save everyone.
'Stand still.'
Nick commanded himself as every single follicle of hair stood on his body. A stare of death lingered on his back, a beast unsatisfied with his current meal.
'Or maybe he doesn't want me stepping on his territory.' Nick thought as he considered the best course of action here. He was so close to the throne... maybe he could just run to it. But if he was wrong...
Well, he'd be dead either way at that point. In his current condition, Nick knew he'd fare a little better than demon kibbles over there.
Briefly considering remaining still, Nick decided against it. There was a small chance that it was solely his movement triggering the beast, but he decided it was far more likely that it was territorial and would charge at him regardless.
If that was the case...
Nick sighed as he twitched his leg slightly and then began counting down.
'3...
2...
1...
DON'T YOU FUCKING EAT ME!!!'
Dashing forward, Nick heard the heavy thudding of the beast's 6 arms/ legs pounding against the ground. It was covering distance at an incredible pace, but...
Nick grinned wildly as he jumped as if stealing a base in baseball (albeit in a game to the death) and slammed his hand on the throne.
'I did it!!'
Nick thought as he waited for the throne to do some magic test thing.

The throne was silent against the beast's thundering. Nick's smile dropped as he realized his gambit failed.
He... was going to die...
Disbelief struck him again, piercing his heart like a knife. Even then, his breathing was slow and steady, even if heavy.
'Death? No, not yet. Not while I'm still breathing!!'
Nick thought as he rolled onto his back and held his Fang high into the air. It looked as if he was waiting for the beast to pounce on him so that even if he'd die, the Fang would skewer Asmodeus as well.
A small guttural laugh formed in the beast's throat as it reached its prey, instantly seeing through such a frivolous display of trickery. The target was brave, that couldn't be contested.
However, he was also stupid.
As if oblivious to the beast's knowledge, Nick continued with his plan. Everything around him slowed as he focused his entire aura of Destruction into the [Fang of Finality] and then added on the effects of the active skill [Evisceration].
He didn't know the exact details of placing his aura into his weapon, such as how much it increased the damage or even what the negative side effects were. However, he did know that it would be able to slice through the beast.
Finally reaching its prey, Asmodeus looked down upon the wounded king with a cold smile. Nick was surprised when it stopped, wondering when beasts learned how to harness emotions.
The grin only widened as Asmodeus lowered his head, lower and lower and lower until it was just outside of striking range. It was as if the beast said:
"I know exactly what you wanted to do. And I know that you can't."
Then it raised its left paw and slammed it towards Nick. Soon blood would squirt from his defenseless neck like a keg—delicious blood!!
Nick had been waiting for this. He knew that by lying in a fetal position and appearing to be on his last leg, the beast would assume its safety. There was never a moment he thought that the beast would pounce on him and impale itself by accident.
'This is still going to hurt though.' Nick thought as he moved the Fang fully into his left hand. Slicing through the air, he aimed directly for the beast's leg.
With involuntary instinct, Asmodeus moved his entire body down so that the Fang wouldn't connect. This caused the arm to slam right through Nick's left arm, sending it flying from his body and somewhere at the edge of the throne room.
However, Nick had already unequipped and then equipped his Fang again. Screaming from all kinds of emotion—determination, pain, and fury the most prevalent—Nick thrust his right hand at the exposed underside of the beast.
His entire right side now housed the entirety of his Annihilation, and Asmodeus was completely off balance. Unable to defend itself, the beast could only roar in pain as the king's Fang cut into his heart, quickly followed by his fist.
Nick's hand was stuck in Asmodeus's abdomen, causing him to instinctively jerk his arm. With all the Annihilation now encasing his Fang and right arm, the king's offense ended up flying straight through the beast's neck and then head as if it were butter.
'Aura, down!'
Nick immediately thought, realizing the potential anti-climactic end to this fight. A second later, the beast's corpse fell onto Nick and would've crushed him if the Destruction aura didn't disintegrate the body.
Now alone, Nick lay there breathless for just a second before an invigorating thought crossed his mind.
'I'm going to get this boss in my ring!'
[No, not exactly.]
