Transmigrated with my corruption system-Chapter 83: Aelira Moon
Elsewhere, back inside the Greyson Residence, an entirely different scene played out as a woman strapped in high-grade armour made her way inside.
A massive hammer holstered on her shoulders immediately drew the attention of everyone and the clan elders as they walked up to her, led by Rysten.
"Lady Aelira... what are you doing here?"
Rysten muttered as soon as he got within range. The other elders’ faces furrowed in question as well.
Her eyes swept through the distance as if she was looking for someone. Aelira exhaled quietly, a faint smile spreading across her face.
"Forgotten already? I’m here to spar with your Lord." She muttered as if it was the only feasible reason.
This caused Rysten’s eyes to constrict for a while. He had come back earlier to inform the lord about the different clan reactions.
But he was already gone. That didn’t matter now, as his breathing grew slightly heavy. No one could know of his absence at this time.
Swallowing audibly, he opened his mouth to speak.
"But... didn’t you say it wouldn’t be for a few days?" He was about to say more before he was cut off.
"Now, a day, a few days — what’s the difference?" Aelira muttered, the smile on her face widening, causing Rysten’s lips to twitch faintly.
If he didn’t know any better, he would have assumed she was here to challenge the lord before his power grew too monstrous for her to handle. And given his pace of progression, it wouldn’t be too long.
Before he could reply, her grip over her massive hammer tightened before she let it down, setting it on the ground below.
Instantly after, the ground split into microfractures before piercing into a small crater.
This caused all the elders’ eyes to widen as multiple questions raced through the back of their minds.
How was that even possible? How heavy did the hammer have to be to crush the ground alone with just its weight? How strong did she have to be to carry it? And finally, why weren’t her feet making craters as she walked around with it? It just didn’t make sense!
Before they could delve deeper into their thoughts, Aelira’s teasing voice echoed as she broke into a pearly giggle.
"He isn’t afraid, is he? I promise... I won’t bite."
Before she could say anymore, all the people watching from the side couldn’t contain themselves as murmurs swept across the gathering crowd.
"Wait... isn’t that the mistress from the Moonstar clan?!"
"How did you know?"
"It’s her signature hammer weapon. I don’t think anyone else uses it as a weapon, and of course her voluptuous curves!"
"That’s beside the point. Did you just hear what she just said?"
"That she doesn’t bite?"
"No, you pervert — the other thing."
"You’re right... she wants to challenge the Lord. A D-rank being facing off against a recently awakened. Tsk, tsk... how thick would her face be to even suggest it... I don’t even think she has any shame at all."
"I heard their clan is filled with vixens who drain the essence of men so they can grow stronger."
"Oooh, so that’s why she wants to challenge the Lord! I knew she couldn’t be any good!"
"I don’t know about you, but I’d willingly give up ten years of my life for a single night with her."
Just as the murmurs were growing outrageous, Aelira’s face couldn’t help but grow a little red. Her lips twitched faintly.
Now that they put it like that, it did seem a little shameless. But that wasn’t going to stop her. Maybe to others it would have seemed absurd.
But measuring the potential and growth of such a talent with an ordinary scale was a mistake.
Walking forward, a fiery glint lit up in her eyes as she grabbed the hammer, placing it over her shoulders as if it weighed nothing, before making her way forward.
Fine! She breathed to herself. If he didn’t want to come out, then she would drag him out herself.
Just as the elders rushed forward to stop her, the sound of wind screeching echoed in the distance, and before anyone could make out what was happening, Aelira felt someone tap her shoulder as a familiar voice echoed into her ears.
"Looking for me?" Turning slightly, her eyes widened as she locked with the dark-robed crimson gaze, pausing her in place as her eyes fluttered faintly.
Thoughts churned at the back of her head. Before, when she had first met him, he was already handsome with a striking appearance.
But this... this was entirely different. His charm had grown... now he was just devilishly handsome.
Just as she was about to snap out of her daze, Ulric leaned in, taking a sharp breath of her scent before taking a step back. A thoughtful expression formed across his face.
"Y-you... what are you doing?" Aelira muttered as her breath grew heavy, her eyes widening in surprise.
"Shouldn’t I be asking you the same question?" Ulric muttered, his eyes sweeping over the surroundings and the elders, who were now sighing in relief.
"Charging into the Greyson clan with the intent of attacking." Ulric muttered as he mused inwardly. Resistance against his proclamation?
The thought caused his fists to tighten. The power thrumming deep within him begged for release.
"No, that’s not what it is." Aelira muttered, finally regaining her composure, before her mouth gaped slightly as she heard the youth’s next words.
"Ah, so you decided to bring me your hammer." Ulric muttered, a faint smile stretching across his face. "I always knew you were an agreeable woman."
Since he had upgraded his appraisal, nothing had eluded his detection. Only this hammer. Same as the last time he saw it. However much he tried to appraise it, the result was always the same.
[???]
He didn’t know what it meant, but it had to be a pretty high-level enchanted weapon. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"This." Aelira muttered as her eyes narrowed. She had almost forgotten how shameless the youth was. And now, as time passed, he seemed to have grown even more so.
This caused her to chuckle faintly, her chest rising steadily with each breath. Before she whispered into his ears.
"If you want it... you can have it." Aelira muttered, causing Ulric’s brows to arch slightly.
"Really?" He hadn’t expected it to go so easily.
Seeing his enthusiasm, Aelira nodded rapidly before adding, "My clan’s allegiance too." She paused before adding, "Me too."
And for the first time since he appeared, her face grew a little flustered before she hurriedly added,
"All you have to do is... defeat me."
Sinking into thought, Ulric took a step back. His eyes trailed across her body as he inspected her once more.
Sharp dark eyes filled with cunningness. With raven-dark hair that trailed all the way to her butt. Her skin was smooth and supple, almost gleaming with an ethereal charm.
Her body was clad in golden armour that did little to conceal her battle-sculpted physique, drawing a faint spark of interest in his eyes.
This caused Aelira’s face to scrunch up faintly. She didn’t know why, but as the youth looked at her, it almost seemed as if his gaze pierced beneath her armour. His lingering gaze did nothing to help as she tried to avert his attention.
"But if you lose..." She began before Ulric cut her off.
"I won’t lose." Ulric muttered. A confident gleam flashed across his eyes.
As he cast a quick appraisal on her.
[Name: Aelira Moon]
[Rank: Level 63 D-rank]
[Threat level: Medium]
If it was before the dungeon run, he supposed the threat level would be high, just as Orros’s or maybe even higher.
But with all the attributes he had dumped across his stats, that wasn’t the case anymore.
As for her weapon, Ulric dismissed it. Without enough strength to unleash its full power, it would be just as strong as its wielder.
Seeing him easily accept, Aelira snorted as she exhaled. Hmph! Did he think she was weak and he could easily defeat her?
Before, she had planned to restrain her power a bit, but now she dismissed that thought entirely.
She was going to teach him a lesson, she mused, a smile spreading across her face at the thought. No one ever looked down on her!
Watching Ulric nod slightly in agreement, Rysten stepped forward to whisper into his ear.
"Lord, shouldn’t you consider it for a while..."
Even though her reputation was a little dirty, her strength wasn’t something to be taken lightly.
Sensing their concerns, Ulric raised his hand slightly as the smile on his face widened.
"There’s nothing to worry about. I’ll be alright." His words only enraged her more as her face twisted.
Feeling the assurance oozing from his voice, Rysten nodded curtly as he pressed the crowd back to prepare a makeshift battleground. At this point, he knew better than to doubt the lord.
As the murmurs behind him erupted into cheers, Ulric cracked his neck slightly, watching as Aelira charged forward, swinging her massive hammer at him.
He was going to enjoy this.
