"We won’t leave..." He whispered as he tapped her shoulders comforting her, and after thirty minutes of holding her, he was able to move away from her bed.

He walked out and closed the door before going into Huo Tinghao’s bedroom; he also kissed his cheek, turned off all the lights apart from the dim ones, and exited, closing the door.

"Did you take dinner to the second floor?" He curiously queried even though he had seen the clean dishes on the sink but he needed to confirm.

"Yes Sixth Master Huo, we sent their dinner but we were unable to open their bedroom door to collect the dirty dishes, we also sent them to the first floor but the food seemed to have not been touched so, we closed the bowls and left it there on the coffee table, they might wake up in the middle of the night hungry." The maids hurriedly responded explaining what had happened tonight.

They couldn’t force them to eat, and they have sometimes behaved like that so they were used to their antics!

From their tone, he could tell they were more pleased with the second floor and he understood why.

They cleanly ate their food and even cleaned their dirty dishes; they were responsible, and they should have been kind to the maids. He noticed Huo Tinghao and Huo Feihao were grateful kids for every little thing.

"Nope! You can rest once you are done cleaning the house!" He could see they were cleaning, he hated seeing the maids walking around in the main mansion.

"And about the kids, do we have to wake them up tomorrow morning or they aren’t reporting to school tomorrow?" They queried as they didn’t know what was going on, but the following day was a Monday, of which they were supposed to go to school.

"Yes! Just the ones on the first floor only; the other ones, I’m still making arrangements." He strolled through the corridor over to the entrance door, opened the door, and walked into the bedroom.

One nurse was around and seated on the couch watching after the patient, Huo Zhihao and his wife were sound asleep; the nurse had switched the bright lights off and left on the dim ones.

"You can go and have some rest, in case of anything, I will call you over." He wanted to sleep next to his wife and her presence wasn’t needed at the moment.

"Okay, Good night Sixth Master Huo." With that, she left the bedroom as Huo Ting Cheng got into her bed and lay down closer, facing her.

He lifted his hand and gently caressed that tiny face over to her eyebrows, down the nose over to her lips, and then at the chin, "It was my mistake!" This wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t thought of being honest with her.

He regretted telling her, he just didn’t know that she would have such a strong reaction.

In no time, he fell asleep beside her smelling her natural scent.

"Mother, do you hate me?" Late into the night, Huo Ting Cheng suddenly heard small whispers around his wife’s ears, he slightly opened his eyes and was surprised that it was Huo Minghao.

He knew she was going to be affected by how her mother treated her and the fact her birth truth looked like a mystery, and he felt sad for her; this shouldn’t have happened. As much as he was never close to Huo Yang, he could tolerate her existence because of his wife.

"She doesn’t hate you; it was just a terrible memory she recalled, and that’s the reason she behaved like that; come over here; I will sleep with you!" He sat up, held her hand, and dragged her closer to him, picked her up, and placed her in bed in the middle, sharing the same duvet with her.

"Is this okay? She won’t be mad at you?" She was worried that her mother would wake up and heavily bash her if she noticed she was sleeping beside her.

"It’s okay, go to sleep... Tomorrow is school day, your mommy won’t mind it..." He gently tapped on her shoulders, lulling her to sleep, and in no time, they fell asleep in that bed.
