Fu Mingze stared at the ultrasound machine and he found himself smiling at the image of his child. He felt Yang Meiyi’s hand gripped him as she shouted.

"Yeah, I just felt a little kick." Yang Meiyi replied, wondering why she felt like that when she heard the doctor saying.

"Your baby is being a little naughty, you just felt his kick. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Fu, you both are expecting a baby boy." The doctor said with a smile.

"Really? It’s a boy. I told you little chipmunk is a boy." Yang Meiyi said in excitement.

Fu Mingze laughed happily, he could not describe the happiness he was feeling right now. This happiness was somehow different from when he heard Meiyi was pregnant.

Containing his joy, Fu Mingze asked the doctor "What of his heart? Is it healthy?"

"Your baby boy seems to be healthy Mr Fu, you should have no fears. The possibility of the baby inheriting your heart disease is just forty-five percent and so far, he is on the winning side."

Fu Mingze sighed in relief and said "Thank you very much."

The doctor nodded and left them alone after giving them some instructions.

"See, I told you we will have a healthy baby." Yang Meiyi said with a teasing smile as she sat upright.

Yang Meiyi gasped as she said "I just felt his kick again. No fair, I think he is going to love you more than me."

"That’s ridiculous and even if it’s true then I don’t see an issue, after all, I am the one who is going to end up as the cool parent." Fu Mingze said proudly.

Yang Meiyi laughed very hard and said "We’ll see."

The doctor smiled and nodded "Though he hasn’t said a word I’m sure that will change when he sees you."

Hu Yifan thanked the doctor and immediately went to his father.

Hu Lihua lay on the hospital bed with machines connected to him with his eyes open.

"Dad." Hu Yifan called out as he walked towards the hospital bed and held his father’s hand.

At that moment, tears left Hu Yifan’s eyes as he said "You are awake dad, I thought you were going to leave me and Mom. I’m so sorry I told you mom died, I just wanted to hurt you back but you don’t have to worry, mom is alive and well, and very soon she will be here to see you."

Hu Lihua looked at his son as a lone tears left his eyes "I’m so sorry that I failed you Yifan, I just wanted you to be happy."

Before Hu Lihua could reply, the door opened and a nurse who wore a face mask came in and said "The doctor sent me to give the patient his medicine and to ensure he gets some sleep."

"Ok, but can I just have one minute with him?" Hu Yifan asked. He looked at his father and continued his question "What did you and Yang Jiu discuss the day he came to visit you in jail?"

"I know you have a lot to speak about with your father but you shouldn’t risk his health, he is in a very delicate state because he just woke up from a coma so I would not advise you to delay his injection or rest." The nurse spoke up.

Hu Lihua looked at his son and "I will tell you about it later, let’s listen to the nurse. After all, the sooner I get better, the sooner we will be together again as one family."
