Yang Jia sat on the head chair in the conference room and said to the executives "Since my dad wasn’t feeling well today, I am taking over. So let’s discuss our newest project, how shall we proceed?"

"Before discussing anything, I would like to clear up some rumors that we have been hearing against you." A middle age man said.

Yang Jia frowned in annoyance and asked "And what rumors may that be?"

"That it was you who killed your stepmother." Another executive said.

"Is there any truth to this?" The middle age man asked.

Yang Jia laughed softly and said "These are all baseless rumors. Although I and Sang Xiu had our differences I will never kill another human being. Now, that it has been clarified can we continue."

The executives looked at each other and nodded their heads.

Yang Jia smiled and was about to say something when the door to the conference room opened and four men walked inside.

"Excuse me but who are you?" An executive asked.

A man among the four men who barged into the conference room walked forward to Yang Jia and brought out his badge saying "Miss Yang, you are under arrest for the murder of your stepmother, Sang Xiu."

"W-what? What are you saying? I can’t be arrested for her murder because I didn’t kill her!" Yang Jia shouted.

"You can defend yourself at the police station, in the meantime come with us." The man said and nodded to his other officer who came forward to handcuff Yang Jia.

Muttering was heard in the conference room and Yang Jia looked at the executives and said "The police are wrong, I have done nothing wrong and even you will see that."

The police dragged Yang Jia away and she could feel people looking at her, some with curiosity, while most with disgust.

Gu Zhen apartment.

"Yang Jia has been arrested." Nie Yujie said as she looked at Gu Zhen who hadn’t stopped drinking.

"I know. I gave the police the final piece of evidence to arrest her." Gu Zhen replied.

"And yet you don’t seem happy. Are you sad because you are going to miss her?" Nie Yujie asked bitterly.

Gu Zhen looked at Nie Yujie and smiled slightly "I love you Nie Yujie and I no longer feel anything romantic towards Yang Jia but I do feel a little bit sympathetic towards her. She is going to spend the rest of her life in a dark place and for some reason, Yang Jia has always been afraid of the dark."

"Well, she murdered two people so she kind of deserves it. I feel no sympathy for her and I’m really glad that you won’t be dragged into her madness." Nie Yujie replied and slowly removed the glass of alcohol from Gu Zhen’s hands.

She wrapped her hands around his neck and smiled when he held her waist, she kissed him and whispered "You are not allowed to feel anything for her, not even sympathy."

Interrogation room.

"I didn’t do anything and when I get out of here, I will spare no effort in suing you and ensuring you pay." Yang Jia screams at the police officer.

"Save your empty threats for yourself." A voice said.

Yang Jia watched as Yang Meiyi entered the interrogation room and said "This must have been your doing, right? Did you pay all these men to blame me?"

"Do you feel no remorse for what you have done? You killed someone and then you keep pretending that you have done nothing wrong. Is this how far you have lost your mind?"

"You are the one who has lost your mind. You keep pretending to be a victim, hiding behind Fu Mingze. It must be fun carrying the heir of the Fu family, you must think you matter now because you don’t. I won’t spend a night here, my dad will get me out."

Yang Meiyi smiled and said, "Not at all, in fact, your dad, is too busy saving himself."

You are all alone Yang Jia and you will spend the rest of your life in jail paying for your sins and I hope the ghost of everyone you have killed, hunts you till you can’t take it no more and end your own life." Yang Meiyi said and walked out of the interrogation room as a tear slipped from her eyes.

Yang Jia on the other hand kept muttering to herself "No, no, no. I can’t go back to that place again. I would rather die than stay there. I will make you all pay for this, I will destroy every one of you."
