Fu Mingze woke up and immediately reach for his phone, he checked his call log and saw that there was no missed call nor was there any messages from her. He dropped his phone with a sigh and wondered what was happening, she didn’t return any of his calls or replied to any of his messages.

After getting dressed in a black suit, Fu Mingze went downstairs and saw his grandfather eating breakfast, he looked at the old man and said "I’m going to work."

Grandpa Fu looked at his grandson who didn’t even wait for his reply before leaving and then at his butler as he asked "Why is he moody so early in the morning?"

Butler Xia shrugged and said "I will ask Xia Lian if anything has upset the young master lately."

"Du construction have agreed to sign the contract but they wish to have a meeting with you first." Xia Lian reported.

"Arrange for the meeting." Fu Mingze replied.

Xia Lian nodded and was about to go when he felt a vibration in his phone, he opened it and saw that it was a trending video online. There was a huge frown on his face when he saw what the video was all about.

Fu Mingze noticed the frown and asked "What’s wrong?"

Xia Lian cleared his throat and said "There is a video online about Miss Meiyi."

"What? Let me see." Fu Mingze said anxiously.

Xia Lian passed the phone to him and watched as his boss eyes became cold, the worst part was, a lot of people were criticizing Meiyi online and calling her names, saying she stoled her sister love. When did the boss became Yang Jia love?

Fu Mingze watched in anger as grandma Yang insulted Yang Meiyi in front of everybody, he passed the phone back to Xia Lian and said "Take down the news immediately and ensure this does not affect Meiyi admission to Suwei University."

"Yes sir." Xia Lian said and immediately left to do what he has been asked to.

After Xia Lian left, Fu Mingze collected his phone from his desk and dialed Yang Meiyi number but there was no answer, he then called Yang Jia and when the call went through he coldly said "Let’s meet." and ended the call. After the call ended, he received a message from Yang Jia of the place they should meet.

Sitted in a restaurant, Fu Mingze placed his phone angrily on the table and asked "What’s the meaning of this?"

Yang Jia looked at the video playing on Fu Mingze phone and said "The truth. At least now the world will see who Yang Meiyi truly is, since it’s obvious that she have blinded your eyes."

"Since when have it been your desire to marry me? You don’t even love me, Yang Jia."

"My grandma wishes to fix my marriage with you, will you really not accept it? Even you said that you were once attracted to me and I am ready to forget about everything if you say yes to this marriage."

"Let’s say we get married, what happens to your feelings for Gu Zhen?"

"I do not feel anything for him anymore. I have come to realize that he is bastard who only care about himself." Yang Jia replied coldly. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"So I’m like a second option to you." Fu Mingze stated calmly

"That’s not it."

"If there was ever a time you saw me as a friend then you will stop this. You and your grandmother made it look like she stole me away from you and she has never done that because there was never a time I was yours. Infact, I feel so disappointed for having judged you wrongly, I thought you were different but you really aren’t. I can now see that you were just so good at pretending."

Yang Jia clenched her fist and said "You of all people should understand me. Meiyi and her mother took everything away from me. If Sang Xiu had never seduced my father then both him and my mother would still be together, she would never have killed herself because she was heartbroken. Yang Meiyi will always be the product of Sang Xiu sin."

Fu Mingze sighed and stood up as he said "Yang Jia, let’s end our friendship."

Yang Jia clean a drop of tears that manage to escape her eyes as she asked "So you are choosing her?"

"Yes and I will always choose her. To you Meiyi may just be a product of Sang Xiu sin but to me, she is the best thing that has happened to me." Fu Mingze said and was about to walked out when he stopped and turned to her saying "A day will come when you will realize that Sang Xiu isn’t the villian in your story and if you had given her a chance she would have become a good mother to you. Your mother wasn’t a saint Yang Jia and deep down you know it, so before you fill your heart with hatred to the point of no return, you should go back and investigate what happened those years ago. I have known aunt Sang Xiu since I was seven years old and one thing I am sure of is that woman is too proud to reduce herself to a common homewrecker, she would rather die."

After saying his piece, Fu Mingze left the restaurant leaving Yang Jia alone. What does he know? She was sure he only said that so that she would no longer hate on Meiyi but it doesn’t matter, if she cannot take Fu Mingze from Meiyi then she will just ensure that they are never happy together.

"I could smell your hatred from over there." A voice said in amusement.

Yang Jia looked up and was surprised to see Gu Zhen smiling at her, she watched as he occupied the seat Fu Mingze once occupied and said "What do you want?"

"I saw the video, I must say your grandmother is quite shameless. After leaching off the Sang family for so long, she actually had the guts to hit Sang Xiu daughter in public, and since when did you become interested in marrying Fu Mingze?"

"Mind your business and go back to your fiancee, I don’t need you." Yang Jia said and was about to get up when Gu Zhen held her hand and said "But I need you. You know my engagement with that woman is a farce, you are the only one I love and that will never change. I won’t marry her Jia, i just need her for a while and if everything falls into place, you and I can get married."

"And if it doesn’t?" Yang Jia finds herself asking and when Gu Zhen replied her with silence, she removed her hand from his hold and was about to walk away when she heard him saying "Fu Mingze is right about one thing though, you should really look into what really happened between your parents and Sang Xiu. That woman is just too proud to have reduce herself to Yang Jiu mistress, infact it’s just impossible. If you need my help, just ask and don’t be too blinded by hatred, you may lose yourself in it and have no way of coming back. Unlike Fu Mingze, I’m speaking from experience."

Yang Jia ignored him and just walked away. Fine! She will investigate what happened between her parents and Sang Xiu and she will show them that Sang Xiu is truly nothing but a homewrecker.
