Xia Lian looked at his boss who have been silent throughout the meeting and he knew the reason for it. It’s been four days now and the young miss Yang has neither answered his calls or replied to any of his messages. He noticed the way he would always check his phone to see if she had replied him. It’s been ten years since he has been with the young master and this was the first time seeing him so distress. He looked at the head of the planning team who has been waiting for a reply for ten minutes and cleared his throat loudly as he looked at Fu Mingze and said "Sir, he is done with the presentation."

Fu Mingze looked at the head of the planning team for a moment and simply said "Redo it and hold another presentation next week."

The head of the planning team release a sigh of relief and said "Yes sir." At least that was better than hearing he was fired.

Xia Lian followed his boss as he left the conference room and heard him saying "Cancel all my meetings for today, I really do not have the right mindset to discuss anything relating to business."

"Yes sir."

As Fu Mingze opened the door to his office, he froze when he saw Sang Xiu seated in one of his couch while drinking a cup of tea.

Sang Xiu who noticed Fu Mingze standing by the door, dropped her tea and said "Your secretary let me in, hope you don’t mind?"

"Not at all." Fu Mingze replied as he entered the office, he made a gesture to Xia Lian to leave them.

After Xia Lian left, Sang Xiu sat down and said "You must know why I’m here, because I’m guessing you were the one who took down the video."

Fu Mingze sat down opposite her and asked "How is Yang Meiyi? She isn’t answering my calls or replying to any of my messages."

"That means she still consider me as her mother." Sang Xiu said as she took another sip of her tea.

"What do you mean by that?" Fu Mingze asked with a frown.

"I told Meiyi that if she still consider me as her mother then she will stay away from you and your grandfather, knowing she is doing that makes me happy. For a moment there I thought her love for you was greater than her love for me."

Fu Mingze looked at Sang Xiu for a brief moment without saying anything and then suddenly asked "Why exactly are you here?"

Sang Xiu smiled and said "You know, one of the reason I like you is that you don’t beat around the bush, same as me so I will get to the point. What’s your relationship with Yang Jia?"

"Currently, there is no relationship."

"Not even as friends?"

"Not even as friends." Fu Mingze replied.

Sang Xiu nodded and said "Though the video was taken down quickly, it still doesn’t change the fact that people saw it and now they are all questioning my daughter character. They think she is a girl with no character, who went ahead to see the man her sister has declared to marry."

"The thought of marrying Yang Jia has never crossed my mind."

"What about the thought of marrying Meiyi? Have that never crossed your mind as well?" Sang Xiu asked with a smile.

Fu Mingze sighed and said "It has. The thought of spending the rest of my life with her have crossed my mind more times than I could count."

Sang Xiu let out a deep breath and said "Three months from now Meiyi will be eighteen years old, how about the both of you get engaged then."

Fu Mingze looked at her in surprised and asked "You are willing to let her be with me?"

"It not as if I have a choice, the girl barely eat and hasn’t spoken to me for four days now. it’s as if she is punishing me for making her cut contact with you. And besides, she tells me of how you really respect her, she has spent so many times alone with you and you have never ones touched her inappropriately or disrespected her in anyways, so I’m sure she is going to be safe with you."

"And the people won’t see anything wrong with Meiyi sneaking out of the house to see her fiance." Fu Mingze concluded, he understood Sang Xiu real intention for both him and Yang Meiyi engagement.

"Bingo." Sang Xiu said with a smile and continued "This is why you are the best son in law for me. You understand me so well. And besides, you are part of the reason all this mess happened so you should take responsibility."

"What about Yang Jiu? Will he agreed to this?"

"He doesn’t have a choice and besides Yang Meiyi is my daughter, I make the decisions when it comes to her, not him."

"Forgive me if I’m crossing the line but the leash you and your father have on Yang Jiu is too tight, do not be too surprised if he one day becomes a bomb that blows up in your face."

Sang Xiu laughed softly as she said "Yang Jiu? He doesn’t have the capacity to go against the Sang Family, so forget about him."

Fu Mingze sighed and said "If you say so."

Yang Meiyi lay on the bed and kept re-reading all the messages Fu Mingze have sent her since that night and there was sadness in her eyes, she was about to put her phone down when she received a message from her mother. She widen her eyes in surprised when she read the message and immediately called Sang Xiu and said "Mom, are you being serious? Can I really call Fu Mingze, can I talk to him?"

"Wow! You haven’t said a word to me for the past four days, but you took the initiative to call me immediately I told you to not bother about the promise you made to me. I should have given birth to a son and not an ungrateful daughter like you. Anyway, yes you can call him and talk to him for as long as you want and three months from now will be your engagement ceremony with Fu Mingze."

"Engagement? Did he really agreed to get engaged to me?" Yang Meiyi asked both in excitement and surprised.

Sang Xiu smiled when she heard the excitement in her daughter’s voice and said "Yes. Are you happy?"

"Very! I love you Mom. I will talk to you later, I need to speak to him."

"Hey, have some dignity. He should be the one calling you and not the other way round." Sang Xiu scolded.

"But he has been calling me for days now and I have ignored all his calls because of the promise I made to you."

"Whatever, I will be home late, just try your best to avoid your grandmother as much as possible."

"Yes Mom, bye." Yang Meiyi said and quickly end the call, she was about to call Fu Mingze when he called her instead, Meiyi took a deep breath to calm herself before she answered.

Fu Mingze was silent for a few seconds before asking "How you alright?"

"Yes, I’m fine. What about you?" Yang Meiyi said calmly. She tried her best to hide the excitement she felt from hearing his voice.

"Absolutely not fine. I have been worried about a certain girl who ignored both my calls and messages."

"That certain girl didn’t really have a choice."

"I know. I’m glad you listened to your mom, I would have hated it if you had a fight with her because of me."

"Well, you are worth it." Yang Meiyi replied.

Fu Mingze smiled at her replied . There she goes again, saying things that makes his heart to skip. "Did she tell you?"

"Are we really getting engaged? Do you want to engage to me or are you being force?"

Fu Mingze laughed softly and said "Force? Why do you think I’m being forced?"

"Knowing my mom, she would ask you to take responsibility for the video, after all the only reason I went out was to see you."

"It sounds like you know your mom very well, but no I’m not being force. Let’s be together Meiyi, these four days apart have made me to realize that I truly want you to be a part of my life, I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Yang Meiyi smiled as happy tears left her eyes as she said "Don’t you know that these are not words you say over the phone?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Fu Mingze laughed softly and said "It’s best I say it over the phone, if I were to say it in front of you I will be too tempted to kiss you."

Yang Meiyi laughed and said "Does that mean I have become irresistible to you, president Fu?"

With a smile on his face,Fu Mingze replied "Who knows? why don’t we find out? In five minutes I will arrive at Yang Mansion."

Yang Meiyi immediately stood up from her bed and looked herself in the mirror. Getting ready was definitely going to take more than five minutes.
