Yang Meiyi walked to them and was about to ask what happened when Wu Ling said "How dare a lowly girl like you speak to me like that? Do you even know who I am?"

"What happened?" Yang Meiyi finally asked.

"Miss Wu here, picked out some clothes and decided to pay with her card but it was declined and then she asked if she could take the clothes and pay later, I told her it was against our policy." The sale’s girl quickly explained.

"How much for the clothes?" Yang Meiyi asked.

Wu Ling let out a brief smile when she heard Yang Meiyi asking how much the clothes were, that must mean, she was going to pay for them. She knew bringing Yang Meiyi with her was definitely a good idea.

"Five million yuan." The sale’s girl replied.

Yang Meiyi looked at Wu Ling and asked "Five million?"

Wu Ling let out a smile and said "You know these are all designer clothes, why don’t you pay for me and then I will wire the money back to you at a later time."

Yang Meiyi looked at Wu Ling and said "I don’t have that amount with me. The sale’s girl is right, you should return the clothes."

Wu Ling frowned and said "It’s just five million, it’s not a big deal. If there wasn’t a problem with my card then I wouldn’t even ask you or could it be a daughter of the Yang family can’t even afford this much."

Yang Meiyi frowned at that, at this point some people were already watching them, she felt Wu Ling was overreacting and to be honest, she was already getting angry after all she wasn’t the one who asked her to pick clothes that were worth five million nor is she the one responsible for her declined card. Ignoring Wu Ling’s comment, Yang Meiyi handed her dress to the sales girl and said "Wrapped it up for me, I will pay with my card." She gave her card to the same sale’s girl and collected it back when it was approved.

"Are you going to ignore and ridicule me in front of everyone?" Wu Ling asked in anger.

Yang Meiyi looked at Wu Ling and said "I’m sorry Miss Wu but you were right, a daughter from the Yang family can’t afford this so..."

"Says who?" A voice said.

Yang Meiyi turned to the voice and was surprised to see Yang Jia dressed in a trouser and a suit jacket, she looked beautiful as always. She saw the cold look in Yang Jia’s eyes when their eyes met and wondered when this woman would let go of her grudge.

Yang Jia stood in between Yang Meiyi and Wu Ling as she said "Five million is a little amount of money for the Yang family. " She looked at Yang Meiyi and asked "Is this what you do? Insult the Yang family wherever you go?"

Wu Ling looked at the beautiful woman who just come in between them and couldn’t help but ask "Who are you?"

Yang Jia looked at Wu Ling and said "Yang Jia." She looked at the sale’s girl and bought out a card from her purse as she said "You can use this to pay for the Miss things."

Yang Meiyi looked at Yang Jia in disbelief, this sister of hers had never even given her attention much less money but now she was spending five million yuan on Wu Ling.

Wu Ling looked at Yang Jia in both surprise and excitement and said "Thank you, Miss Yang, you are so different from your sister."

Yang Meiyi rolled her eyes and said spitefully "I hope you are happy and next time ensure you check the condition of your card before buying designer wear, if not you might end up inconveniencing others and become a disgrace to your Wu family."

"You..." Wu Ling wanted to reprimand her but she was tongue-tied, her anger ignited when Yang Meiyi collected her things and left.

After Yang Meiyi left, Yang Jia looked at Wu Ling and said coldly "You know, she isn’t wrong. If you can’t afford it then don’t pretend to even have the fund for it. Take this as a gift from me because there will come a time when you will need to repay the favor and you dare not refuse."

Yang Jia left after saying her piece and as Wu Ling watched Yang Jia walking away she felt scared for some reason, why was Yang Meiyi’s sister so scary? And how would she repay this gift?

Dressed in a white dress that stopped at her kneel, Yang Meiyi entered the club and smiled at its liveliness, she saw some of Zhang Chun’s friends and followed them to the VIP area that had been set aside for his birthday celebration.

Immediately she entered the VIP area, she saw Zhang Chun smiling and accepting gifts as people wished him a happy birthday and when he saw her, his smile brightened as he walked towards her and said "I thought you weren’t going to come."

Yang Meiyi scoffed and said "As if you will allow me to breathe peacefully if I didn’t come." She gave him a small box that was wrapped and said "Happy birthday." When giving the gift, she noticed Wu Ling staring at them strangely.

Zhang Chun collected the gift with a smile and said "Thank you. You look beautiful."

"What’s that? Why are you complimenting me, don’t be so weird." Yang Meiyi said. This was the first time Zhang Chun complimented her on her looks, in the past, he had always spared no effort in insulting her.

Zhang Chun scoffed and said "A simple thank you would be enough. All I’m saying is that white looks good on you."

"I know. Everything looks good on me." Yang Meiyi replied softly.

"And yet you call me the proud one." Zhang Chun said with a scoff. He suddenly heard her hand and said "Let’s go cut the cake."

Yang Meiyi looked at their joined hands as he dragged her to cut the cake and just decided to let it be after all it was just a harmless touch. To be honest, she really couldn’t understand Zhang Chun, sometimes he behaved as if he liked her while other times, he behaved as if couldn’t stand her, but right now as she stood beside him while everyone sang happy birthday to him, she realized that she didn’t want to lose Zhang Chun as a friend, apart from the fact that he has a sharp tongue, Zhang Chun has become one of her best friends, she truly hopes he doesn’t have feelings for her because that would only complicate things.

After cutting the cake, they danced, drank, and played games and when the time clocked eleven, Meiyi decided that she had had enough fun, she was a little bit tipsy but she wasn’t drunk, she walked up to Zhang Chun and said "I have to go, happy birthday once again."

Zhang Chun looked at her worriedly and asked "Can you drive? I will take you home."

"Yes I can drive, I didn’t drink too much and it’s your birthday party, it will be wrong for the celebrant to leave."

Zhang Chun nodded and asked "Just out of curiosity, what happened between you and Wu Ling? The both of you haven’t spoken throughout tonight."

"I just found out her true colors. I will tell you about it later. Bye."

"Call me when you get home. I’m serious, call me."

"Yes, Dad." Yang Meiyi said teasingly and left.

Yang Meiyi breathed in the cold air as soon as she came outside the club and entered her car, she thought of calling Fu Mingze but decided against it, it was better to call him when she got home.

As she started her car and drove away, she realized how busy the city was even though it was almost midnight. As she drove she suddenly started feeling dizzy, she knew it wasn’t the drink because she hardly drank, her eyes became blurry and suddenly she saw a truck coming towards her. No matter how hard, Yang Meiyi pressed her brake, it didn’t work and before she could think of anything else, the truck ran into the car at full speed.

Yang Meiyi opened her eyes and saw herself standing in front of a car, and inside the car was a girl who looked just like her. Yang Meiyi looked down on herself and wondered if she had become a ghost, she looked at the unconscious girl with blood flowing from her head and watched as people gathered at the scene, some were recording with their phones while others when calling either the ambulance or police. She wondered why no one had stepped forward to remove her from the car and it was at that moment she smelt it, the gasoline, the car was going to explode any moment from now. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

No, she can’t die, not here, not now. She finally sighed in relief when she heard the ambulance siren but before the ambulance could come close, the car suddenly exploded leaving people to scream and run away from their lives.

"No!!" Yang Meiyi screamed in tears as she watched the car burn with the girl in it.
