Yang Meiyi gasped as she opened her eyes and felt pain all over her body. The smell of gasoline hit her nose and she knew if she did not leave this car she was going to die in it. And what was that dream, it was as if she was shown how the real Meiyi died.

Just how did she forget about the fact that Yang Meiyi died at the age of eighteen, damn it! She knew she had forgotten something but no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t remember, what if there were more things she was forgetting? It doesn’t matter, the real Meiyi may have died in a car explosion but not her, she can’t die. She has so much in this world that she can’t afford to wake up as Liu Yi again. Liu Yi didn’t have a man who loved her like Fu Mingze nor did she have a mother like Sang Xiu, her life can’t end here, never.

Yang Meiyi groan in pain, everywhere hurts. Just like the dream she had people had already gathered, whispering, wondering how to save the girl trapped in a car that was about to explode. Yang Meiyi gathered all her strength and tried to open the door but it wouldn’t open, tears left her eyes as she realized the door wouldn’t budge and the worst part was that she was feeling dizzy, too dizzy and weak to do anything. Her eyes were feeling heavy, too heavy for her to fight the unconsciousness that was about to consume her, and as her eyes finally gave in, she could hear the distant sound of the ambulance siren, a tear slipped from her eyes as she thought of the fact that she was still going to die after all, everything was still going to happen just as the author has planned. And that was when she slipped out of consciousness.

Yang Meiyi didn’t know if it was seconds or minutes that passed but her eyes slightly opened as she felt someone pulling her out of the car, she wondered if she was dreaming, please, please, let it not be a dream.

After his meeting, Fu Mingze returned to his hotel by eleven pm, after taking a long shower and getting dressed for the night, the first thing he did was check his phone if maybe there was a call from Yang Meiyi but there was none, just a call from his grandfather. He decided to call his grandfather back and the both of them spoke for almost an hour before he decided to end the call by telling the old man goodnight and promising to call him tomorrow.

Seeing the time was almost twelve, he whispered "She must be back by now." He dialed Yang Meiyi’s number and frowned when the call service said her number was switched off. He called again but got the same response, he wondered if she was all right, and why didn’t she charge her phone.

At this point he was getting worried, though he wasn’t having that uncomfortable feeling in his chest, he still needed to know if his girl was home or not, with that in mind he decided to call Sang Xiu but was surprised to receive a call from Sang Xiu instead. He quickly answered and frowned when he heard her crying.

"Aunt Sang Xiu, what happened? Why are you crying?" As he asked those questions, Fu Mingze felt a dreadful feeling coming up. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Meiyi, my little girl." Sang Xiu said hardly able to control her tears.

"What happened to Meiyi? I tried calling her but her phone was switched off."

"She was involved in an accident Mingze, they said her car collided with a truck, and if the guy who saved her was a second late then she would have been in the car when it exploded. My little girl is currently fighting for her life Mingze and I don’t know what to do."

Fu Mingze clenched his phone tightly as he felt a slight pain in his heart, Meiyi has to be alright, his girl has to be alive. Ignoring the pain in his heart, he said shakily "Meiyi is going to be alright. Text me the address of the hospital, I will be right there."

His feet finally gave up as he clutched his chest tightly in pain, he couldn’t breathe, the thought that his Meiyi was currently fighting for her life was suffocating him, he couldn’t lose her. Tears left his eyes at the thought of losing her, she has been the only good thing that has happened to him after so many years, he just can’t lose her.

After a few minutes, the pain in his chest subsided and he was once again able to control his breathing. He looked at his phone and saw that Sang Xiu had already texted him the address of the hospital and as he looked at the address, a fear like no other gripped his heart.

"How is she?" Sang Xiu said immediately the doctor came out of the operating theatre.

The doctor looked at a crying Sang Xiu and sighed sadly "She needs blood and fast but unfortunately, we don’t have her blood type here. Your daughter is AB negative, if you are compatible then...."

"I’m not." Sang Xiu cried in devastation.

Just then Yang Jiu worked in and he was surprised when Sang Xiu hugged him tightly, he embraced her back and whispered "She is going to be alright."

The doctor looked at them and said: "We have contacted nearby hospitals to see if they have her blood type but so far there have been no positive responses. We will keep trying on our end but if you know someone or have an idea of anyone with an AB negative blood type then we need them urgently."

"AB negative? Yang Jia’s blood type is AB negative." Yang Jiu said in excitement.

Sang Xiu separated herself from Yang Jiu and looked at him as if he was her only hope and said "Please call her, tell her Meiyi needs her blood urgently."

Yang Jiu nodded and took out his phone, he called Yang Jia repeatedly but the call kept going into voicemail, so he decided to just leave a message for her. He looked at Sang Xiu and he couldn’t stop his heart from aching, this woman had always been strong and never showed her tears to anyone, he didn’t even know the woman could cry.

He has known Sang Xiu for years and there is no one she loves more than her daughter, she would lose her mind if anything happened to Meiyi but then again, perhaps Meiyi dying will be for the best, she was never supposed to be born anyway.
