Transmigration:The Villain Wants A Happy End Without His BeastHusbands-Chapter 117: A Beast God?
In the Lower District of Water City, the same community where Ningyan had once stayed before leaving, the area was still in ruins.
Many buildings remained broken, their walls cracked and roofs collapsed.
But there were no bodies left in the streets anymore.
Life had slowly begun to return.
A few beastfolk walked along the shoreline, carrying baskets or nets. Children played nearby, their laughter drifting across the salty wind.
It wasn’t like before.
But life went on.
By the beach stood Rong Yue.
The sea wind brushed through his golden hair as his blue feline eyes remained fixed on the endless waves rolling across the ocean.
He stood there quietly. Waiting.
Eventually, one of the tiger beast guards who had gone to investigate the streets returned.
The guard approached him respectfully and bowed. "Your Highness."
Rong Yue glanced at him. "Are they ready to speak with me?"
The guard nodded. "Yes, Your Highness."
The guard then led Rong Yue into the ruined streets.
As they walked, Rong Yue’s gaze fell upon the shattered earth beneath his feet.
Large cracks split across the ground like scars. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Without saying anything, Rong Yue suddenly stopped walking.
The guard continued a few steps before realizing Rong Yue was no longer behind him.
Rong Yue stepped toward the damaged ground. He slowly followed the long fracture in the earth with his eyes.
The cracks led directly toward the destroyed houses ahead.
There had definitely been a battle here.
Rong Yue frowned slightly.
Then he crouched down and placed his hand against the ground.
His eyes closed.
Immediately, a faint silver glow spread across his body.
His golden tiger ears twitched slightly.
Behind him, his long tail swayed slowly through the air.
He focused. Carefully sensing the lingering energy in the earth.
A moment later, Rong Yue’s brows furrowed.
He could still feel it.
The remnants of demonic energy.
"Young master... are you perhaps a noble?" An elderly voice suddenly spoke behind him.
Rong Yue opened his eyes.
The silver glow around him vanished instantly.
He rose to his feet and turned around.
Standing behind him was an elderly woman. Faint fish-like scales shimmered along the side of her neck.
She carried a small basket filled with covered goods.
Her face looked tired, like she hadn’t slept properly in days.
Rong Yue studied her for a moment before replying calmly. "I suppose you could say that."
The beast woman hesitated before speaking again. "Did you come here to help us?"
She glanced at the broken houses around them. "We are only a poor community... but we always managed to survive."
Her voice trembled slightly. "But after everything we lost... the beasts in the Upper District don’t care about us."
She looked back at Rong Yue. "So it is quite surprising to see a young master here."
Rong Yue gave her a small smile before looking away toward the destroyed houses.
"I will have everything repaired," he said calmly. "And I will make sure whatever the community needs will be brought to you."
He paused. Because seeing their situation had stirred unexpected pity in him.
The beast woman’s eyes widened. Tears quickly filled them.
"Thank you... truly." She lowered her head gratefully. "I am very grateful."
Then she shook her head slightly. "But that is not why I approached you."
Rong Yue looked back at her.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the guard who had been leading him had stopped several meters away, watching the conversation.
Rong Yue turned his attention back to the woman. "Then why did you approach me?"
"My daughter," the beastwoman said, her voice trembling. "She was killed by a beastman."
Rong Yue’s expression darkened slightly.
"He was a big cat... like you," she continued nervously. "But he was evil. I don’t mean that as an insult. You.. you could just... feel the wrongness of his presence. The strength of it too."
She swallowed. "He was eventually killed. The others buried him here in the community, but I have been telling them we should burn his body."
Her fingers tightened around the basket she carried. "No one is listening to me. But I want him burned. I cannot stand the thought that the beast who ruined our peace and joy is buried here."
She looked at Rong Yue pleadingly. "Please... if you can help with that."
Rong Yue sighed softly and glanced at his guard.
The guard immediately understood and nodded.
"Find where he was buried and dig him out," Rong Yue ordered.
The guard bowed deeply. "Yes, Your Highness."
He quickly turned and left.
"Thank you," the beastwoman said, tears filling her eyes.
Rong Yue forced a small smile. "Who killed him?"
The beastwoman gasped slightly.
"It was Yan Yan," she said quickly. "Who knew he was actually that strong? His power was... like that of a beast god."
Rong Yue tilted his head slightly, surprised.
A beast god? Not a divine beast?
"Yan Yan?" he repeated.
The woman immediately brightened at the question. "Yes! He was a quiet lad. Very hardworking and always kind to the children."
Her voice softened with fondness. "He was so beautiful that many beasts believed he had stepped down from the heavens themselves."
She laughed quietly. "But he was also very humble. He mostly kept to himself."
Her smile faded slightly. "There were rumors he might be a phoenix, but no one really believed it since he lived such a simple life."
She paused. "But when that big cat found him... and they fought..."
Her voice lowered in awe. "The power Yan Yan used... it exposed him."
She looked at Rong Yue with wide eyes. "He really was a phoenix. He killed the big cat. But he also left that same night."
Rong Yue stood silently for a moment, processing everything she had just said.
Then he took a slow breath.
"Does he..." He hesitated.
"Does he have white hair... gem-like violet eyes... soft jade skin... a slender build... and an ethereal...?"
He stopped speaking when he noticed the woman’s face.
She was smiling brightly. "Yes!"
She nodded eagerly. "That is Yan Yan!"
A frustrated growl escaped Rong Yue’s throat.
The sound startled the beastwoman and she instinctively stepped back.
But Rong Yue wasn’t looking at her anymore. His thoughts were racing.
It was easy to piece together what had happened.
The big cat had been an assassin sent to kill Ningyan. And the beasts in this community had been caught in the middle of it.
"Did you see a blue light?" Rong Yue suddenly asked.
He turned back to the woman.
She blinked rapidly in confusion. "I... yes. We all saw it while we were running away. Everyone saw it."
Rong Yue’s jaw tightened. His claws slowly extended from his fingers.
"That sly, overgrown snake..." he muttered coldly. "Did he hide it inside Ningyan?"
