Chapter 144: I’m Yours

"You’re smiling...?" Ningyan whispered, stunned.

Meishan let out a quiet breath, shoulders relaxing for the first time.

"I’ve been worried." His voice was gentle. Honest. "The crystal is harsh. Relentless. I couldn’t do anything to help you, no matter how much I tried."

His gaze softened further. "But if he can..."

Ningyan froze.

"You’re... not angry?" he asked carefully. "That I’m... married to someone else?"

Meishan tilted his head. "Does it change anything?"

His hand lifted and rested against Ningyan’s cheek carefully. "Does it change how you feel... about me?"

Ningyan’s breath caught. "No!"

He cupped Meishan’s face with both hands, his eyes wide, his heart racing wildly in his chest.

"Nothing changes. Nothing." His voice trembled. But it didn’t break. "No one... no one could ever change how I feel about you."

His grip tightened slightly, like he was afraid Meishan might disappear if he let go. "I mean it. I pinky promise."

He let out a shaky breath. "You’re... special to me in a way I can’t even begin to explain. I can’t even imagine losing you."

Meishan’s eyes widened slightly at Ningyan’s words.

He said... nothing. And that silence stretched too long. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Ningyan’s heart tightened.

Did he not believe him? Why wasn’t he saying anything?

What was going on in that unreadable, beautiful head of his?

His gaze dropped, thoughts spiraling.

He wasn’t lying. He wasn’t.

He loved him.

His lips parted. "I—"

Meishan pulled off his glasses in one smooth motion, tilted Ningyan’s chin upward and crashed their lips together.

It wasn’t hesitant, it wasn’t gentle, it was decisive.

His hand fisted Ningyan’s robes at his back, dragging him closer as his lips pressed harder, parting, claiming. His hot demanding tongue slipping into Ningyan’s mouth without restraint.

Ningyan gasped softly against him, his entire body heating instantly, fingers tightening around Meishan’s arms as breathless sounds escaped his throat.

Meishan swallowed every single one. His fingers slid into Ningyan’s hair, gripping, anchoring him there as he deepened the kiss, unhurried but unrelenting as if he had no intention of ever letting him go.

By the time he pulled away, they were both breathing hard.

Ningyan’s face was flushed, lips swollen, eyes dazed and bright.

And Meishan... Meishan was looking at him like he was his entire world.

Ningyan’s heart stuttered. "...You believe me," he said softly, his breath uneven.

Meishan smiled. "Of course I do."

Ningyan swallowed, still catching his breath. "I wanted us to run away... live somewhere quiet. A mountain, maybe..."

His voice trailed, thoughts tumbling over each other again. "But now... it looks like we’re going to the Azure Dragon Clan. Or Wind City. Or somewhere else entirely..."

He let out a soft, helpless laugh.

Meishan watched him, amusement flickering in his eyes. "You have nothing to fear, Yan’er."

His fingers brushed against Ningyan’s cheek, cool against the heat of his skin, grounding him instantly.

Ningyan leaned into the touch without thinking. "...I’m not so sure about that."

Because he knew. He was already too attached to Meishan.

...And not just Meishan.

The realization sat quietly in his chest. It was uncomfortable but true. He really was greedy.

And it seemed he wasn’t the only one.

Meishan’s gaze dropped to his lips. His own lips pressed together, as if he was holding something back.

That was all the invitation Ningyan needed.

This time, he moved first. He leaned in and captured Meishan’s lips, more boldly, pulling him into a deep, consuming kiss.

And Meishan did not hold back. Not even a little. His hands tightened, his response immediate and certain, deepening the kiss with a quiet hunger he no longer tried to hide.

"Let’s consummate our marriage," he breathed against Ningyan’s lips.

Heat rushed through Ningyan’s body, overwhelming, dizzying especially with the way he was seated directly against Meishan’s hardness.

He moved instinctively. His hips shifted, pressing closer seeking more.

A sharp hiss escaped Meishan. In the next moment, his grip tightened as he lifted Ningyan effortlessly, turning them over and laying him onto the bed beneath him.

He never broke the kiss. Not once.

Ningyan’s fingers clenched into his sleeves, breath uneven, chest rising and falling as his legs wrapped around Meishan’s waist, pulling him closer, unwilling to leave even the smallest space between them.

The heat between them only intensified.

Meishan finally pulled back, just enough to look at him. Those eyes were filled with devotion and naked desire.

Ningyan’s breath caught. Slowly, his legs loosened, allowing Meishan to shift back.

Without breaking eye contact, Meishan reached for his robes and pulled them off, exposing the toned lines of his upper body. Faint scales shimmered along his sides, creeping toward his neck, catching the dim light with an otherworldly sheen.

Ningyan swallowed hard, his gaze fixed on him. It was as if he was seeing him like this for the first time. He really hoped that they wouldn’t be interrupted this time.

He pushed himself upright slightly, bracing his hands against the bed as Meishan leaned in again, caging him in with his arms on either side.

Those serpent-like eyes glowed faintly. His fingers moved to Ningyan’s hair, brushing through it slowly.

"Are you alright, Yan’er?" he asked softly, his voice low, almost a whisper, sending a quiet shiver through Ningyan’s senses.

Ningyan’s lashes fluttered. His heart was racing fast enough that he was certain Meishan could feel it.

"Why wouldn’t I be?" he replied, though his voice betrayed him, unsteady with excitement.

Meishan watched him for a moment then smiled.

"I don’t want us to hesitate... when it’s time," A faint flush spread across his face. "I’ve been holding back... to bury myself in you... again"

Ningyan leaned in, brushing their noses together, his voice dropping into a soft whisper. "You don’t have to hold back anymore, Shan’er."

His breath ghosted against Meishan’s lips. "I’m yours."

That was all it took.

Meishan closed the distance again. This time with undeniable hunger capturing Ningyan’s lips in a deeper, more consuming kiss, no longer holding anything back.
