Transmigration:The Villain Wants A Happy End Without His BeastHusbands-Chapter 34: Do Not Disappear
There were guards everywhere, heads bowed low as they passed through the inner chambers.
The moment Yan Wuhen released Ningyan’s hand, Ningyan turned toward the bed.... Only to be pulled back.
"What are you—"
The spirit mate chain materialized between them, glowing a steady red-gold. Wuhen stared at it intently, jaw tight.
"Why didn’t you tell me," he said quietly, "that you were meeting Lan Meishan to activate your core?"
"Like I said—" Ningyan took a step back.
The chain snapped taut.
Pain flared at his neck as he was yanked forward. Ningyan hissed and glared up at Wuhen.
"I didn’t know it would take that long."
He didn’t say that his core was still fragile. Still at risk of shattering.
Wuhen’s frustration bled through his expression. "I was helping you build a foundation, and you chose not to tell me you were fixing your core. With Lan Meishan of all beasts."
"He’s not a danger," Ningyan shot back. "He helped me."
Then, quieter but sharper, "And you may say you own my existence, but it’s still my body. If I choose to fix my beast core, that shouldn’t be a problem."
Silence stretched between them.
Red-gold fox eyes met furious violet ones.
Slowly, Wuhen released the chain.
Ningyan’s chest felt tight. Did Wuhen want him weak? Dependent?
Anger flared.
He turned to leave.
And suddenly, the fox prince grabbed his face and crushed his lips against Ningyan’s.
Ningyan froze, heat flooding his body all at once.
The kiss wasn’t gentle. It was hungry, claiming. Wuhen was nipping at his lips, coaxing them apart, his hands sliding down to grip Ningyan’s hips firmly.
Ningyan gasped, breath hitching, and before he could stop himself, he parted his lips.
Wuhen smiled against his mouth and deepened the kiss, tongue sliding in, devouring him until Ningyan felt dizzy, heat pooling low in his abdomen.
Ningyan couldn’t stop the moan that slipped from his lips.
He was breathing hard now, kissing Yan Wuhen back, fingers curling into his sleeves as he tried to match his pace but Wuhen was relentless, devouring him, swallowing every broken sound that escaped his mouth.
He was already hard. Throbbing.
And it was just a kiss!
But... it didn’t feel like just a kiss.
He didn’t even realize he was moving until Wuhen suddenly pulled away.
Ningyan blinked. "Wha..."
A finger pressed lightly against his forehead, a wicked smile curving Wuhen’s lips.
And the world tilted.
Ningyan fell back, his body hitting the soft mattress.
"Gods," Wuhen murmured, already shrugging off his robe. "You are so delicious, Yan’er."
Still dazed, chest rising and falling, Ningyan’s eyes widened as reality caught up with him.
Too fast.
He scrambled upright in a panic, practically leaping off the bed. "No...no, I’m too exhausted to—"
The words tangled as he backed away, waving his hands uselessly.
Wuhen ignored him, peeling off the outer robe until only his inner layers remained.
"Too exhausted to have me buried inside you?" Wuhen lifted a brow.
Ningyan exhaled shakily. "Yes. You want me to last, right? I won’t. Not tonight." Probably not any other night either.
Wuhen tilted his head, actually considering it.
Then he frowned.
"I don’t like this."
Ningyan blinked. Wuhen actually believed him.
The thought made his chest tighten. He was painfully aroused, standing in front of a fox prince more than willing to ruin him.
But he said he was exhausted. And Wuhen stopped. Listened. He was... really worried.
Ningyan pressed his lips together. "I’m just... exhausted."
Wuhen studied him for a moment longer, then turned and lay back on the bed.
"Then sleep," he said simply. "It’s been a long four days."
He patted the space beside him, a slow, dangerous smile tugging at his lips.
Ningyan swallowed hard.
"Right." He slowly crawled onto the bed, moving closer until the nine tailed fox prince suddenly pulled him in, wrapping his arms around him tightly.
Ningyan was forced to bury his face against Wuhen’s chest.
His own heart was racing wildly.
But so was Wuhen’s.
Yan Wuhen’s fingers slid gently through Ningyan’s hair as he breathed out softly. "Do not disappear like that again, Yan’er."
Ningyan’s eyes widened.
Did he... scare Wuhen? Just by vanishing without a word?
"Okay," he whispered.
That single word seemed to ease something in Wuhen. He nuzzled his face into Ningyan’s neck, his tails swaying lazily... almost happily... as his eyes finally closed.
Ningyan closed his own shortly after.
It didn’t take long before they both fell asleep.
♡♡♡♡
When Ningyan woke, the bed was empty.
Sunlight spilled through the windows. He pushed himself upright, yawning as he ran his fingers through his sleep-ruffled hair.
Just as he swung his legs off the bed, the door opened.
A servant entered, carrying a tray of breakfast.
Ningyan was about to ask where Yan Wuhen was when she spoke first. "His Highness has a visitor at the moment. You should eat. I will prepare the bath for you."
Ningyan smiled and nodded. "Thank you."
The servant smiled and bowed. "It’s my pleasure."
Ningyan ate quietly, then bathed and dressed in fresh robes. Once ready, he stepped out of the chamber, intending to head to lectures.
Only to freeze when deep laughter echoed from the main hall.
Yan Wuhen’s.
Then another voice cut through it, sharp and furious.
"Yan Wuhen! I will not have you disgracing our family because you fancy a coreless phoenix! Get a fucking grip!"
Ningyan exhaled slowly.
He was tired. Tired of the labels.
Who wouldn’t be?
He edged closer to the chamber, but guards stood watch at the entrance.
Approaching one, Ningyan lifted a finger in a silent gesture. The guard hesitated, then looked away.
Ningyan carefully peeked inside.
Yan Wuhen sat back in his seat, his posture relaxed but his expression dark. Standing before him was another nine-tailed fox, red-furred like Wuhen, but his shade was deeper, blood-dark.
The two stared each other down.
Yan Wuhen looked furious. "Who are you to question my actions, Yan Wuyin?!"
