Transmigration To Magus World-Chapter 103: Refining the Primordial Spirit Part 2
The higher the grade of a Sorcery technique, the greater the requirements for the practitioner’s innate talent and aptitude. Some Sorcery arts even require specific unique constitutions.
The Ghost Eye Bewildering secret manual was one such technique. It required the practitioner to possess a strong mental force to learn it.
Aizen attempted to quickly learn the technique through the system but was met with a system prompt:
"Insufficient task Wisdom points. Two thousand points are required to quickly learn this technique."
Since the message specified a lack of task Wisdom points and did not mention any unmet prerequisites, did this mean his mental strength was already sufficient?
Could it be that as long as he accumulated the required task Wisdom points, he could quickly learn the technique?
Wisdom wasn’t entirely sure but had a rough idea.
The system might have listed insufficient task Wisdom points as the immediate barrier, but it was possible that this was merely the first prerequisite for quick learning. If, after accumulating enough points, he still received a message indicating unmet requirements, it would confirm this suspicion.
Nonetheless, the fact that it required 2,000 task Wisdom points to learn this technique demonstrated its value—it was truly expensive.
But given that this was a third-tier secret manual, such a high cost was understandable.
Aizen carefully wrapped the human skin in brocade again and placed it back into his inner pocket.
Despite being only a fragment, this manual was incredibly valuable. If word of it leaked, it would undoubtedly invite life-threatening danger.
"Knock, knock!"
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Senior Brother Aizen, are you there? Elder Mustang instructed me to deliver a letter to you."
A deep male voice sounded from outside.
Aizen’s gaze flickered. He stepped off the bed and walked slowly to open the door.
Outside stood a young man in his early twenties, wearing coarse blue cloth. He appeared a few years older than Aizen.
"Senior Brother Aizen," the young man said, his expression a mixture of excitement and respect. He bowed deeply before first presenting his identification token as proof of his identity. Only then did he retrieve an envelope from his chest and offer it to Aizen.
Aizen casually accepted it, noting the man’s overwhelming enthusiasm. It was as if he were meeting a superstar or idol.
Feeling somewhat puzzled, Aizen waved his hand. The young man understood, bowing deeply again before stepping back a few paces and quickly departing.
The letter was made of parchment and sealed with wax.
Aizen closed the door and opened the letter. Inside was a piece of paper as smooth as silk.
The words written on it were bold and forceful, and at the bottom was a red seal.
Just seeing this seal, Aizen recognized that the letter indeed came from Elder Mustang, making its contents trustworthy.
After reading the letter, Aizen narrowed his eyes slightly, calculations forming in his mind.
Though he had anticipated this development, he hadn’t expected Elder Mustang to act so quickly, successfully maneuvering to elevate him to a higher position.
That’s right—a higher position!
During the recent expedition to the Treisenberg city Treasury, in the effort to kill Frostdragon Sword Ryven, Martin, Alester, Abraham, Gene, and others had all perished.
As for the traitor Trager and the spy Wade, they were hardly worth mentioning.
With these individuals dead, the leadership of the other divisions had been significantly weakened. This was not particularly surprising.
However, in the Western Division, the situation was unique. With Alester dead and Simone still "recovering from injuries," the two strongest leaders in the Western Division were suddenly gone.
Below these two had been Ghost Blade Kean, but Kean had also been killed by Aizen.
This left the Western Division without a capable Gold List leader to take charge.
The Western Division originally had 19 disciples listed on the Gold List. Including Aizen, that made 20 people.
Among these 20, only three (aside from Aizen) could actually make it into the top 30 of the Gold List.
Now, with Simone hidden and out of sight, Aizen was the only one left.
This created a need to redistribute power and resources, as well as to quickly promote someone to take on important responsibilities.
Currently, Aizen was undeniably the strongest among all the outer disciples in the Western Division of the Heavenly Demon Clan.
Who else could be promoted if not him?
Even if a few others appeared to have some level of competitiveness, that was a matter for the future. Under Elder Mustang’s swift maneuvering, Aizen had already been pushed into a position of power.
From the tone of Elder Mustang’s letter, Aizen sensed the elder’s satisfaction and enthusiasm. The letter urged him to quickly assume his new role, take control of the situation, and restore order. Elder Mustang also offered to provide assistance if necessary.
It was only then that Aizen realized the news of his duel with Marques had already spread.
The story of his victory over Marques had rapidly circulated throughout Treisenberg city, along with the news of his joint effort in slaying Ryven.
These accounts were spreading like wildfire, carried by caravans and traveling merchants to the surrounding cities.
It was easy to deduce that the Clan’s higher-ups had sanctioned this, sending personnel to strategically promote the narrative. This was a deliberate effort to build Aizen’s reputation quickly.
No wonder the young disciple earlier had looked at him with such excitement.
Admiring and respecting the strong was a fundamental aspect of human nature.
By defeating Marques, Aizen had naturally taken his spot on the Human Ranking List, becoming another ranked expert among the Heavenly Demon Clan’s outer disciples.
In the Magus world, there were three rankings: the Heavenly, Earthly, and Human Rankings.
Excluding the Heavenly and Earthly Rankings, the Human Ranking listed the top 100 post-heaven sorcery artists under the age of 40.
These post-heaven martial artists represented the strongest of their generation.
In Sorcery arts, youth was a distinct advantage. For anyone who had not broken through to the innate stage, strength and potential typically began to decline after the age of 50. Energy waned, strength diminished, and even untapped potential would dry up rapidly.
Before the age of 40, however, there was still room for growth.
Thus, the Human Ranking imposed an age limit, capping it at 40 years old—a threshold that struck the perfect balance.
For Aizen to enter the ranking at the age of 20, even if it was at the bottom of the list, was enough to make him famous across the martial world. It also signified his potential for even greater achievements in the future.
Because of this, Elder Mustang faced much less resistance from other faction elders within the sect while pushing Aizen into a leadership role.
Even some senior members of the left faction within the inner sect began to pay attention to Aizen. As a new member of the Human Ranking List, they prepared to support him further.
With the backing of Elder Mustang and some influential left-faction leaders, Aizen was now ready to expand his influence.
Martial cultivation and energy refinement required massive amounts of resources, and holding power made obtaining those resources much easier.
At the same time, the task Elder Mustang had assigned him counted as a faction mission. Moments ago, the system notification had already sounded in his mind:
"New Clan Mission Received: Restore Order in Great Plain.
"Ding"
"Mission Requirements:"
Take control of all Heavenly demon Clan properties within Great plain City.
Reclaim lost territories and assets.
Suppress the influence of the Overseas Hundred Alliances and the Turtle Stone Territory within the city. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Mission Rewards:
20,000 task Wisdom points.
1 drop of Demon Blood .
Mission Failure Penalty: ???"
Aizen understood that this mission would provide an opportunity to consolidate power and gain substantial resources if completed successfully. However, failure clearly carried unknown and potentially severe consequences.
