Chapter 142: Chapter 143: Follow Me

Fist and Authority.

Gripping the authority in your hand means delivering a world-shaking punch.

Aizen’s punch was delivered from the vantage point of a person in power.

An individual of high standing typically wields authority without needing to act personally. Yet, when they do take action, that act itself embodies their authority.

This punch carried an overwhelming spiritual momentum.

Christopher’s expression shifted slightly. The punch affected not only his body but also shook his spirit, instilling an intense sense of fear.

If he retreated at this moment, his momentum would weaken, and he would be utterly unable to withstand the next move.

But if he didn’t retreat, could he truly block such an overpowering punch?

Whether he could or not, he had no choice but to block it.

With a thunderous shout, Christopher charged forward with strides as steady and fierce as a tiger’s. His arms stretched wide—his left hand clenched into a fist and his right open as a palm. The palm struck toward Aizen’s fist, while the fist aimed straight for Aizen’s chest.

Whoosh!

The air trembled violently. Christopher’s palm, flushed red with circulating energy, swelled to the size of a fan, turning a deep crimson hue. His fist, meanwhile, became like a blue-black boulder, the skin knotted with protruding veins.

Aizen held back his full strength, but Christopher dared not show any restraint. With all his might, he unleashed a technique that tore through the air with explosive force.

While his move lacked spiritual pressure, it was not to be underestimated.

He combined the Seal Palm with the Overlord Fist, countering Aizen’s dominance with dominance, offense with offense.

Both techniques, considered ninth-Grade Sorcery arts in the Magus world, had clearly been honed to perfection by Christopher . When he employed them now, they carried a certain unyielding ferocity.

The two clashed in an instant.

Before Christopher ’s Overlord Fist could even touch Aizen’s chest, he felt as though his palm had been struck by lightning.

The "lightning" coursed through his body, jarring his nerves and causing him to involuntarily stagger back more than ten steps.

The Five Thunder Devastation Fist delivered a sensation akin to being struck by thunder. Though no actual lightning was involved, Aizen’s punch employed an intricate technique, sending a hidden force surging into his opponent’s body to stimulate their nerves.

A human’s movements rely on the brain sending signals through the nerves to prompt action.

The Five Thunder Devastation Fist disrupted this process by sending a burst of force into the opponent’s nervous system, causing involuntary reactions.

Thus, Christopher retreated ten paces—not because of the punch’s physical power but because of the reflexive response it triggered.

"Hah!"

Seizing the moment, Aizen pursued like a dragon in flight, swift and relentless. His body seemed to glide across the ground, bringing him face-to-face with Christopher in a flash.

With a stern gaze and a low growl, he declared:

"Second move!"

Raising his arm as though wielding a colossal hammer, Aizen’s fist descended like a thunderous strike from the heavens.

Boom!

The air in the courtyard grew unbearably hot. The watching guards felt their facial muscles tingle, as though faint electric currents danced over their skin.

This was the force of Aizen’s breath as he growled and the shockwave of his punch tearing through the air.

The strike, brutal and overwhelming, was a move from the Five Thunder Devastation Fist called Thunder Hammer.

Aizen’s robe billowed in the gusts of energy, his black hair streaming wildly. With a wrathful glare, he resembled the Thunder himself, standing atop the heavens to deliver divine judgment.

Though he still held back much of his inner energy, Aizen’s mastery of Sorcery arts allowed him to express the technique’s profound essence. Even without significant power, the punch carried an unparalleled might.

Christopher was utterly shaken.

Though Aizen was merely at the peak of the Refined Organs Stage, his strength far surpassed any Sorcery artist of the same level Christopher had ever encountered.

Christopher realized that if he didn’t risk everything now, he would surely die at Aizen’s hands.

"Hah!"

With a fierce shout, Christopher unleashed the most potent move of the Overlord Fist, drawing upon a surge of spiritual momentum in this life-and-death moment.

Overlord Fist: Nine Lives, One Death!

This was a technique embodying the spirit of sacrifice—placing oneself in mortal danger to achieve victory.

As Aizen’s hammer-like punch descended toward his head, Christopher aimed a direct strike at Aizen’s chest, willing to perish alongside his foe.

But Aizen’s left hand moved. A single finger extended, light as a drifting cloud yet swift as lightning, targeting the acupoints in Christopher’s wrist.

Simultaneously,Christopher employed the Seal Palm, a technique combining palm strikes and mudra formations. His gesture mirrored that of an enraged Figure delivering judgment, an image potent enough to terrify lesser opponents.

Crack!

No matter how formidable the seal, it was no match for the deadly precision of Aizen’s finger.

The ethereal, cloud-like finger suddenly transformed into a spear of overwhelming force, piercing through Christopher’s technique and striking his wrist’s acupoint. The seal shattered instantly.

The onlookers gasped in unison, many unable to bear the sight of Aizen’s hammer-fist seemingly poised to crush Christopher’s skull.

Yet, at the final moment, the fist transformed into a palm. Instead of smashing down, it lightly brushed Christopher ’s head, releasing a controlled burst of force.

Christopher’s fist was mere inches away from Aizen’s chest when the explosive force of Aizen’s palm sent him flying.

He spun through the air several times before landing on the ground, yet he remained unharmed.

"Consul!"

Christopher looked at Aizen with a mixture of astonishment and respect.

"Two moves have passed. You managed to endure them. I only forced you back with the third move. Not bad."

Aizen’s expression was calm as he glanced at his own chest. The fabric there was visibly dented with the imprint of a fist, and his skin felt a searing pain.

Christopher’s Nine Lives, One Death strike had been a desperate and potent technique. Though his fist never directly made contact, the force behind it was undeniably fierce, its shockwaves pounding Aizen’s chest.

"It was due to the Consul’s mercy that I remain unscathed. Yuantao admits defeat wholeheartedly."

Christopher cupped his fists and bowed deeply, his heart filled with genuine admiration.

During their brief exchange, Christopher had fought with all his might, while Aizen had barely utilized his internal energy yet forced him into a life-or-death struggle.

Was this the strength of someone on the Human Rankings?

Aizen’s eyes swept over him. "Your Sorcery skills are impressive. It’s a waste for you to remain a mere guard. From now on, stay by my side."

He spoke casually, as if it were a small matter.

The surrounding guards froze in shock upon hearing this, and then their expressions turned to envy and jealousy.

Being a guard and serving directly at the Consul’s side were worlds apart. Given the choice, anyone would opt for the latter.

Christopher had turned misfortune into a stroke of luck.

"Christopher thanks the Consul for his recognition!"

Even Christopher himself was stunned. What began as an acceptance of punishment had transformed into an opportunity for advancement.

This was no ordinary patron—Aizen was the most powerful figure in Great PlainCity, a Consul sent by the Heavenly Demon Clan and a Human Rankings expert.

Following someone like Aizen meant not only power and glory but also access to unparalleled luxury—fine food, exquisite drinks, and women of the highest quality.

As Aizen departed, the remaining guards flocked around Christopher, showering him with congratulations.

Regardless of what Christopher had been before, he had now soared to new heights—a wild chicken turned phoenix. He was someone they all needed to curry favor with.
