Transmigration To Magus World-Chapter 89: Blossom of the Fierce Storm
No matter how strong someone is, they are still human.
Though Ryven was ranked on the Human Ranking , it only represented the top one hundred warriors within the Magus Body Refining Stage . Without reaching the Innate Magus Stage , being surrounded by skilled adversaries in the same realm meant certain mortal combat.
At that heart-stopping moment, as Ryven let out a fierce roar, he finally used his trump card to preserve his life.
The title "Frost Dragon Sword" was not given in vain.
The phrase "A single strike, Frost Dragon over Eight Desolations" spoke to the terrifying lethality of Ryven’s unleashed sword technique.
In that instant, the entire desolate temple seemed to tremble. As the bone-chilling cold spread, Ryven vanished from sight, leaving behind only an overwhelming brilliance of icy-white sword light.
The sword light erupted violently, manifesting as a Frost Dragon rampaging in all directions.
The raging sword energy tore through the air like a storm, its icy sharpness piercing the soul.
Though Ryven had not yet reached the Innate Stage, his technique carried a power eerily close to it.
Was this the strength of a Human Ranking master?
And he was ranked at the lower end?
Aizen was deeply shocked. His ferocious blade strike clashed with the sudden explosion of sword light.
It felt as though his blade had struck an eternal glacier, the resulting impact unleashing a massive shockwave. Amid the forceful collision, countless sword lights struck at him.
Though the sword lights were not pure energy condensed by internal power, their sharpness was enough to pierce skin and flesh.
In that moment, Aizen felt his skin pricked with pain. He couldn’t even see his opponent—only a blinding sea of sword light. His blade, thrust like a dragon into a cold abyss, was violently deflected.
Even with his Black Fiend Gloves , his hands split painfully at the webbing between his fingers. The radiant sword light suddenly narrowed, revealing a single outstretched arm.
The next strike—Frost Dragon’s Claw—was swift and deadly.
This strike wasn’t aimed solely at Aizen. Moments earlier, it had already pierced Abraham , who screamed in agony as he stumbled to the ground.
Fast. Precise. Lethal.
Barely after injuring Abraham, the sword had already turned on Aizen. Its speed made it seem like both strikes were one, giving no time to react.
The bone-chilling sword energy rushed at Aizen. His internal power surged as his eyes glinted with desperation. This strike had to be blocked.
In that instant, Aizen’s finger shot out, reinforced by his internal energy, and the Black Fiend Gloves hardened like iron.
"Jade-Splitting, Gold-Shattering Strike" !
His finger met the sword tip just as it came close.
"Clang!"
Aizen’s expression changed drastically as a crack split his Black Fiend Gloves. His finger bones felt as though they were about to shatter.
The sword paused for the briefest moment before continuing, slicing through his palm and twisting toward his wrist, then aiming for his throat.
Aizen retreated violently, his internal energy surging. In that critical moment, his other hand instinctively lashed out with a sudden palm strike.
This palm strike didn’t carry an overwhelming force, but in an instant, a fierce gust of wind surged forth. A massive palm imprint formed, exuding a sinister chill as it barreled toward Ryven, who was preparing to follow up his attack.
"Void-Splitting Divine Palm, strongest move of the Profound Ice Divine Palm" !
Aizen had unleashed this deadly technique in the heat of the moment.
"Hmm? Externalized true energy?"
Ryven’s face shifted as he quickly retreated half a step and swept his sword horizontally to counter.
"Boom!"
The palm imprint shattered under the sharp sword strike, but the powerful gust forced He Yunliu back three steps.
Taking this opportunity, Aizen pulled away, his expression dark and grim.
Aizen glanced at his wrist and saw a gash so deep the bone was visible, nearly severing his tendons. A chilling sword energy lingered in the wound, preventing the muscles from contracting to stop the bleeding.
Meanwhile, Simon and the others stormed into the collapsing temple to join Martin and Alester in battling Ryven.
It was a chaotic melee—a brutal and heart-stopping skirmish.
Despite being a Human Ranking master, Ryven was beginning to falter. Though he was a Magus Body Refining Stage Sorcery artist, the gap between him and Martin was enormous. Perhaps only the top five on the Outer Gold Rankings could challenge or suppress someone of Ryven’s caliber.
Abraham had been critically injured by a single sword strike, his chest pierced and one lung damaged.
Now, seven people surrounded Ryven in a relentless onslaught. Even as a Human Ranking master, death seemed inevitable.
Trapped in the circle, Ryven fought fiercely, his body already riddled with injuries. While none were fatal, they gradually sapped his strength, setting him on a path to eventual defeat.
That terrifying sword strike from earlier had forced back Alester and Ghost-Faced Man Raider , gravely injured Abraham, and nearly severed Aizen’s hand.
But such a magnificent display had consumed a significant portion of Ryven’s internal energy, leaving him visibly weaker now.
Aizen’s killing intent burned even hotter. Channeling his internal energy, he used the Star-Absorbing Technique to draw out the icy sword energy from his wound.
As the energy coursed through his meridians, it caused sharp pain and a pervasive chill. Only by suppressing and refining it through his martial arts could he dissolve it.
The sword energy expelled from his body, Aizen’s wrist muscles finally contracted, and he sealed his acupuncture points to staunch the bleeding. His Black Fiend Gloves swiftly recovered from the earlier gash, testament to their durability.
Although Ryven’s sword was terrifying, it was not a fifth-tier spiritual weapon, and thus could not fully pierce the gloves.
Leaping forward, Aizen kicked the Cold Moon Blade from the ground into his hand, his eyes icy as he charged back into the fray.
Ryven had to die—if not, Aizen’s system task would remain incomplete. Failing to complete the task would mean losing the enticing rewards and suffering a penalty of having two of his martial arts techniques randomly abolished—a consequence he could not bear.
But just as Aizen was about to engage, Ryven suddenly laughed loudly. His left hand flipped, revealing a small silver contraption—a spring-loaded mechanism.
"Not good! It’s the Rain of Pear Blossom!"
Martin, being closest to Ryven, was the first to notice the weapon. His expression twisted in horror as he hastily retreated.
The other six were equally alarmed, their pupils contracting as they fled in panic like startled birds in a forest.
But they were too late.
With a crisp "click," the spring mechanism activated, and a dense flurry of silver needles shot out like liquid mercury spilling across the floor.
Aizen’s heart pounded as he saw the device’s numerous apertures flare open. A chilling sense of mortal danger surged through him.
The Rain of Pear Blossom —a legendary hidden weapon, known to spill blood every time it was used, leaving no survivors.
The flashing silver needles whizzed toward him as screams erupted around him. Two of the needles glinted ominously as they sped toward Aizen.
His pupils contracted sharply. At this speed, no blade technique could block such a sudden assault.
With a roar, he abandoned his blade, his black hair whipping wildly as his internal energy surged.
He threw out a single palm strike—his most powerful move—"Four Symbols Uniting as One".
The palm strike surged like a tide, encompassing the path of the oncoming silver needles.
It was as if:
A Azure Dragon swooped from the heavens.A White Tiger descended from the mountain to devour its prey.A Vermilion Bird scorched the seas with its blazing flames.A Black Tortoise swallowed the land’s aura.
The overwhelming palm strike enveloped the silver needles’ trajectory entirely.
Yet in the next instant, Aizen felt a sharp, searing pain in his palm. His heart sank—the Black Fiend Gloves had been pierced.
