Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Coercion

If the Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needles were a large-scale, crescent-shaped hidden weapon, almost impossible to evade, then the Life-Locking Needle was a small-scale hidden weapon that, though easier to dodge, was far more lethal.

The terror of the Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needles lay in their inescapable fan-shaped attack. The twenty-seven silver needles were immensely vicious, ensuring that each release drew blood. In contrast, the Life-Locking Needle’s terror was in its absolute fatality—if it hit, death was guaranteed.

The phrase "Three Thousand Ways to Kill" wasn’t mere bluster.

If Ryven had still been at his peak, Aizen wouldn’t have dared rely on the Life-Locking Needle to kill him. But now, Ryven’s strength was no longer what it used to be. Moreover, his recent display of such a high-consumption ultimate technique, while heavily injuring and forcing back Gideon, also provided Aizen with an unprecedented opportunity.

Aizen would not let such an opportunity slip.

In a flash, the Life-Locking Needle—a device no thicker than a pinky—was launched. Without a sound, a shadow streaked through the air, shooting toward Ryven.

The timing was impeccable.

It struck precisely at the moment Ryven’s old strength had been spent, and new strength had yet to form. It was the instant his sword’s blinding white light dissipated.

The black shadow reached him in a breath, aiming not at a vital point but ensuring that as long as it hit, death was certain.

Ryven sensed danger and retreated violently, his sword light flashing to block. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Staaaang!"

The shadow was deflected slightly but still managed to embed most of itself into his body.

"You...!"

Ryven’s body trembled. His eyes bulged, his face flushed blood-red, and just as he pointed at Aizen to speak, a mouthful of blood spurted out.

As the blood sprayed, Ryven’s face turned pale. His body convulsed before collapsing to the ground.

The Life-Locking Needle lived up to its name. Once hit, countless hair-thin needles exploded within the target’s body, ensuring death.

On the other side, Tobias, who had severely injured Simon, was startled. Aizen’s gaze had already shifted toward him.

The system notification sounded in Aizen’s mind—the task to kill Ryven, wielder of the Frost Dragon Sword, was complete. There was no need to verify the corpse; Ryven was unquestionably dead.

Now, only Tobias remained.

Being targeted by Aizen’s calm yet chilling gaze, and seeing the faint smile creeping onto Aizen’s lips, Tobias felt a shiver run down his spine. Without hesitation, he abandoned his attack on Simon and retreated to the side.

He could have killed Simon in a few more moves.

But in those few moves, Aizen might just have the chance to launch a fatal strike against him.

So quickly... Ryven had already been killed by Aizen. Tobias hadn’t even clearly seen what had happened.

At this moment, Tobias’s dread toward Aizen deepened, and the thought of retreat began to grow in his mind.

Having betrayed the Heavenly Demon Clan, Tobias knew that with so many people dead during this mission, even if he and Ryven had succeeded in their plan to kill everyone, he couldn’t return to Treisenberg City to report to Viggo.

With so many dead, his survival alone would arouse suspicion. Viggo would surely report it to the higher-ups in the clan, and Tobias would eventually end up like Trager, meeting a grim fate.

As for Ryven, he had hoped to lure Martin and the others into a trap in order to storm Treisenberg City’s treasure vault. Even though many Heavenly Demon Clan members resided within the city, once he succeeded, they would turn a blind eye as long as he entered the city. It was an unspoken rule.

After leaving the city, pursuit might continue. But if Martin and his group were dead, who would have the strength to chase him down?

Unfortunately, while the plan was flawless, reality proved otherwise.

Ryven had sacrificed disciples from six major sword factions to deplete Martin’s group’s strength, using himself as bait with Tobias’s help to trap and kill everyone.

In the end, just as he was about to succeed, Aizen’s Life-Locking Needle ended his life in an instant.

The final victor wasn’t Ryven, nor Tobias, and certainly not the deceased Martin or Alester. Instead, it was Aizen who stood triumphant.

Though Tobias was strong, his ranking was only eleventh on the Gold Rankings of the Outer Clan. Even if he had some hidden cards, he was, at best, comparable to Simon. At this point, while Aizen had expended considerable energy and suffered some injuries, Tobias had already decided to retreat.

Without uttering a word, Tobias kept his vigilant gaze fixed on Aizen as he cautiously backed away, his intention clear—he did not want to be Aizen’s enemy.

"You still think you can run now?" Aizen mocked, his expression cold and disdainful. A glint of killing intent flashed in his eyes as his figure lunged forward like a leopard, his palms surging with formidable energy directed at Tobias.

Although Tobias wanted to flee, Aizen had no intention of letting him go so easily. Who could guarantee Tobias wouldn’t return with a sneak attack or some sinister plot? If he were to leave, it would be with a heart full of terror.

The overwhelming force of Aizen’s palm strike was suffocating, a display of seemingly boundless inner strength. Seeing this, Tobias became even more cautious. If Aizen had shown any leniency, Tobias might have entertained the idea of sneaking back to spy. But witnessing the terrifying ferocity of Aizen’s strike, Tobias abandoned all such thoughts.

Instead of countering the attack, Tobias decisively turned and fled, refusing to engage. Facing Aizen, whose methods seemed endless, he didn’t dare to gamble with his life.

If Ryven had truly carried a Breakthrough Pill, Tobias might have grit his teeth and fought Aizen for it. But the pill was nothing more than a fabricated story crafted by Tobias and Ryven to deceive others.

Soon, Tobias disappeared without a trace.

Aizen made a show of pursuing him for several hundred feet before ultimately giving up with a feigned expression of frustration.

Tobias was far too cautious—his years as a hidden traitor in the Heavenly Demon Clan had honed his instincts. Moreover, his exceptional speed and agility made him difficult to catch. Aizen wasn’t about to exhaust himself in a futile chase.

After abandoning the pursuit, Aizen quickly turned back. On the mountain path, he intercepted Simon, who was attempting to flee.

Simon, a strikingly beautiful senior sister, was in a pitiful state. Severely injured and barely clothed, her disheveled form revealed glimpses of her figure, while her long legs bore a bleeding wound from Tobias’s sword. She was in no condition to run far.

"Aizen, instead of collecting the spoils of war, are you really going to trouble a defenseless woman?" Simon fixed her gaze on Aizen, forcing a weak smile onto her face despite the wariness that glinted in her eyes. "Gideon just fled. He might return to observe the situation."

"Senior Sister, you don’t need to worry," Aizen replied with a faint smile, his tone ambiguous. "I came to help treat your injuries. As for Gideon, do you think he’ll dare to come back?"

Aizen’s smirk deepened as he took a step forward. Simon instinctively staggered back with each of his advances. At last, she stopped retreating altogether, for Aizen’s warning gaze had made it clear: step back further, and death would follow.

If she stayed, she might still live.

"What exactly do you want?" Simon narrowed her eyes, her expression cold as frost.

"I know you have connections with certain elders within the Clan," Aizen said with a devilish grin. "So I won’t kill you. But you’ll have to behave yourself. All I want... is your body."

Simon froze, her expression darkening instantly. Her delicate face turned icy as she glared at Aizen.

"You want to obtain my Rending Heart Claw technique?" she asked sharply, her voice filled with disdain.
